Also, they said that they were limiting the number of sales for "Collector's value"

What collectors value do these have?

They aren't tangible. They're pixels on a screen.

That you don't even own. They're still property of the company you "bought" them from. And years from now when everything goes belly-up and the servers go down for good, your investment's gone.

Collectibles are collectible so they can be sold into collections and among collectors.

These cannot be sold. You can't sell them to another player and it's against the EULA to sell your account.

So where's the "collector's value" in all of this?

Just a thought, not trying to start any flaming here......

Maybe, if CW dose come out, people will be able to sell mechs to one another, or trade? It would make sense to me to do that, because why sell an unused mech back to the game at about a third, probably less, of the price, when you can sell it to a greenhorn at a reduced price?

So, what is the bonus for component destruction on these "Gold" mechs?

I doubt it. It'd make sense, but I doubt it'd happen. That'd be like World of Tanks allowing a Type-59 owner to sell one to someone who's been chomping at the bit for years to get one. It'll never happen.

I think sloosers stands for Sh°°ty loosers..

I got the adder gold mech.. I love that mech so much.. To all haters and jelous folks out there: Really stop raging cuz you dont have enuff money to support mwo andto get a very special and limited mech

I've almost certainly contributed more money to this game's development than you have.

And I totally could buy a golden clan mech if I wanted.. but I don't. Because I'm not ********.

The very notion of a golden clan mech is ridiculous on every level... Even if you wanted to go into the lore as a basis, the clans would never have made a golden mech, or painted it gold. It would go directly against everything the Clans valued.

I Just bought one.. You sloosers should find a job instead yelling and complaining 24/7 on the forums....

So you have been fooled into buying one right now because PGI just declared that they are in limited numbers?
Not that they didn't already say that back in December right?
Why didn't you buy one months ago?

Also since this is the internet; I bought the moon just now
There I can say things on a forum too.

What's more interesting actually is that you are happy with the game as it is, and I'm sure a handful of other players as well.
Otherwise you wouldn't have shelled out so much money right?
A sign for PGI never to get off they're butts and do something to keep players playing.

Highlights in patches are balance changes, in other games those would be footnotes to actual content.

And you might not want to get personal on a forum that has been dubbed poisonous.
But then you could just be trolling anyway.
You might not even have a job or could still be living at home; age 46, not paying rent, no girls allowed says the sign on the door.

All in all I spent that much money already on this game too, so get off the high horse and stop measuring you're e-peen with others.
Many here have jobs, it comes with the territory.
If you like TT, or mechwarrior , than you're most likely to be around 30 or older and have disposable income.

Edit:
Did any one else notice too that in the majority of the patches (maybe all?) PGI unintentionally breaks something that has absolutely nothing to do with the fixes they put in?

I swear to god it's like they have a gremlin there, going through the patch just before it gets released and changes some values, or some lines of codes somewhere to keep us "entertained".

Well me and my friends don't shoot afk's. We don't shoot DCs and we don't even shot other teamates who keep blocking or shoot us in the back every time by "accident". However we all pretty much agreed on one thing.

EVERY SINGLE GOLD MECH WE SEE ON EITHER TEAM GOES DOWN.

Not because we can't afford them (many of us can), not because we are jealous or haters and not because we like to troll. but because we despise what these mechs stand for and what PGI/IGP or whoever is in charge of pricing has done to the game and clan packs. If need be i will make a thousand alt accounts with AC/40 jaegers and do nothing but hunt them down.

Then Mind if I ask you a question?

If you set out to do that, and all of your friends, are you saying that you would actually take the time to grind out the time it would take to get those evil things, or are you going to drop a few dollars each time to get them right off the bat?

The only reason I ask is simple. If you are going to do the latter of the two, doesn't that mean that you would end up spending more than it cost for that gold mech that you are hunting down?

What do those gold mech now stand for in your opinion?

Some of us have slightly different opinions on what is wrong with them but for me personally it's the butchering of a game payment model (working my way to be a game developer myself) and flat out lying. I have been had before on this whole limited digital stuff. It was only 3 skins in LoL (about 20$) which were supposed to have been limited (limited by sale time) and they they started reselling them again because people wanted them and they felt it wasn't fair (i'm sure the huge ammounts of money they made had nothing to do with the decision).

Nothing to read other than what others have said.

1. Digital items are never limited in quantity.
2. IF PGI wanted to make them appear limited a sales counter would have been posted by each mech.
3. PGI can't afford to do that. They've dug themselves into a hole and no matter what they do they are stuck..
4. The only way out of the hole is to deliever everything they've promised. Including the stuff they can never make money off of.

is that the reason your rage against gold mechs? Sry but not reasonable for me.. It doesnt hurt the community at all if someone buys a gold mech.. It rather helps the community by supporting the devs

The golden mechs need an upgrade from bitchin' betty to an elderly butler named nigel. "Beg your pardon, sir, but it appears the peasants are firing long range missiles at you." Also classical music playing softly in the background. Hardwood finish on the cockpit would be nice, too.

Complaining about the price IMO is ridiculous. Now if someone were to complain because they would buy one if the game were in a better state but can't justify it because we don't have community warfare, we don't have dropship attack, the community seems to be shrinking and the game doesn't play all that well then that would be a reasonable complaint.

But yeah all facts aside it is pretty silly.

Even if there are only 50 left, that doesn't mean we've seen the last of them.

I've seen this in another F2P game I used to play: Heroes of Newerth had "Gold Collection" skins which were exclusive and unavailable for purchase after the sale but they would pop back up from time to time, usually available as prizes for contests, tournaments or special events (so I guess not technically for sale but still rubbed people the wrong way).

Well I guess if you bought the colors you could make it look sort of like one, it's just a skin.
The actual variant is there.
Otherwise a boarshead gives you better grinding%
What was unique was the glowing eyes.
Those are gone now, sooo

If I remember correctly it was stated that metallic paint jobs, e.g. Chrome, gold etc. would come to the game eventually, though not as paint but camo or so?

Star Citizen does this too. "Get your alpha slot before they are all gone! Wait, we're almost out? Here, lets add a few thousand more!"

Then again, they finally stopped with that. And then again then again, they made an additional pay-for option to be able to get in anyway.
