I think Steam sales have more than proven that if you drop the price low enough, the increase in sales volume will far exceed the drop in price. I forget the exact numbers, but they basically found that if you charge $5 for a $40 game, you'll sell far more than 8 times as many.
But, PGI doesn't take that approach, and while I think it's dumb, it's not my decision to make.

Honestly, I don't understand all the hate towards people that are willing to drop $500 on the game. If you think the game is second rate and not worth the money, don't spend it. But griefing people that do think the game is worth it is just dumb. It doesn't accomplish anything.
