Man, I hope this becomes popular enough that stock matches can be an ongoing thing instead of just an event that my time zone would make difficult.

Looking at some of the factory loadouts for the Succession Wars era variants we have (and some of my favourites from BT and this games closed beta) is making me giddy with the thought of playing them in stock matches. The stock HBK-4G is looking mighty attractive, the sultry minx. The DRG-5N might be fun also.

Actually having to look at loadouts and armour and consider tradeoffs is so refreshing compared to just choosing the gunbag with the best hitboxes and meta-friendly hard points.

Hey man, what time zone are you in?

This pertains too all EU or AU players: Please post what time/times might work best for more time appropriate editions of Stock Mech Monday: http://mechforceclas...ock-mech-monday

Some people are wondering about stock battles hosted on other days. As TygerLily mentioned as well, MechClassic will hopefully become essentially a hub for hosting various stock game events.

Today (5/7) I am running a trial run (to work out any kinks) for an event that will be hosted every Wednesday (hopefully next week) following on the heels of Stock matches kicked off on Monday's for SSM.

Where SMM is more accessible to draw in many people, Wednesday's I have envisioned to be a little more 'loreful' where each Wednesday a new Era in BattleTech is played where Tech and Mechs available to use change over time. There also some extra canon variants that can be built (where as SMM, you must use exactly a Mech variant provided in MWO).

I love the initiative, but being 6 hours ahead of EST makes this a no go for me. I so wish there were official stock queues =D

This looks really fun. I see that Monday's are Stock Mech Mondays and General Taskeen has something set up for Wednesdays. Are these the only days for stock mechs, currently?

Some folks show up every night and drop, doesn't always matter if there is a planned event.

The last game I played last night. Forgot to turn OBS on. We were using 3050-era tech by then, though we started off with Star League only. Skip forward about 40 seconds; I uploaded without trimming. And at some point I'll figure out how to get OBS to pick up my game audio and my voice audio together; right now it just picks up my voice and no one elses, so I turned that off.

Enjoy.

Weird to watch myself play, I got frantic at the end when those two came after me and it shows.

Thanks for recording though, pity you didn't get the game where we did really well lol.

Yeah. Start-up and victory/defeat music was added a little before the time UI2.0 went live, I believe.

I'm just now seeing this. Little confused. In my terminology stock means using the mech in its purchased form. Absolutely no customization allowed. Period.

That is not what you are doing though. Correct?

Your terming it as basically level 1 tech only?

Stock mechs, as in what you buy in MWO without changing anything. Just like the loadouts in Battletech.

The only thing that is different is that any mech with DHS can't be used.

Some nights we have rules that go a bit further (not monday) where folks are only allowed to use what Battletech calls 'tech 1' which doesn't include narc, tag, bap, pulse, gauss, etc. That isn't the normal rules, just rules that some folks use for other nights. Lots of folks like the tech 1 since it makes it feel a lot more like the succession war era battletech.

Hope that answers your questions.

Also, to add to what Barantor said, Taskeen also runs events where we can build canon mechs using other ones. For instance: last night I built a Shadow Hawk-2Hb "Royal" variant from a 2D2 chassis. These aren't legal for SMM but for other events it's legal.

Basically it refers to the lore, since in BattleTech a 'Mech was built as it was and used "as is" except in special circumstances (high ranking pilots or rogue individuals). The 'Mechs in-game, when you buy them initially, are already configured to their lore loadouts and "record sheets" from Table Top. Kind of like a Jet pilot being assigned to fly "Jet Type A," they aren't really going to be stripping out engines and putting on super weapons, etc.

You can find descriptions of what a Stock 'Mech variant is by searching for any mech here, if you really want to read about them: http://www.sarna.net (If you search for "Commando" for example, you'll see that the description for a 2D is exactly as you see it in MWO when you initially buy it).

Example of a record sheet showing a "Stock" Annihilator: http://i.imgur.com/lnV0Xy2.png

Anyways, yes, Stock 'Mech Mondays means the 'Mech must be as it is originally when it is first purchased. You can change any 'Mech you have back to a stock form, but it will cost lots of C-Bills.

Hey guys, I'm sure I can reserve some HD streaming time for this event in the future. A planned June event would be nice, and I'm sure H.A.R.D. Corp. has a quite a few interested people, besides Bishop Steiner. I would be more than happy to get some extra video coverage from another angle, and get some of our old favorites out on the field. ^_^ I'm really glad to see this type of competition being organized finally. Cheers.

Still working on putting together a june "Clan Invasion" event. The more we get signing off, the better. I need to check June 3051 timelines.....of course...... nothing. Clans are still on Strana Mechty, IS is still summiting. PGI can't even launch late right, lol.

if we pretend it's still 3050, we can make the event the "Invasion of Rasalhague"?

Stock Mech Monday Question:

Can I reallocate my armor from stock as long as I don't add additional armor? i.e. Take armor from rear torso and move to the front?
