I voted "No. (I don't want more mechs having it.)". ECM already provides an umbrella to all mechs within 180m, so 1 ECM can cover most if not all team members if they "death-ball".

Get rid of the umbrella and make ECM work only on the mech that equips it and maybe we can think about increasing the number of mechs with ECM.

A big no to all those mechs suggested, most of which are at the top of their weight class. If ECM really needs to be added to current mechs, put it to locust and dragon or some other losers, NOT poptarts!

But before any discussion about adding ECMs, they should fix it first i.e. make the gap between a normal mech and an ECM mech smaller. Perhaps something along the lines in my signature...

Well if they really wanted to make money start making hero's more heroic. make them more customizable by putting multiple different hard points in the ct and head (cant stick a gauss in them but would make them zombies and able to be different then there counterparts) and give them ECM cause there are some already out there that have it that don't require mc so it wont completely unbalance the game but it would be another point for buying a real life money mech.

Also the commando spider and cicada are not at the top of their weight class so that leaves the raven and ddc.....so most is not fair. and most do over 120 so their weakness is armor so they are not ganna be standing still giving the big boys ecm cover. normally, there are some people who do take that risk. as for poptarting ecm mechs...the spider is the only one who could but if they are poptarting and falling back out of visual range anyway not much difference if they had ecm other then you wouldn't get a red tag showing them doing it. Also the only things ecm does in hinder lock on misses and your ability to see the enemy. so the people complaining about lrms being op cant be complaining about ecm. but my lasers srm and all my ballistics don't seem to mind ecm. poptarters don't know were ecm mechs are until they see them visualy so it hinders poptarters too. huh seems ecm is brining balance to the aspects of the game people are ranting about LRMS and POPTARTS. lastly is the visual well it ads an element of surprise and hesitation some people should have. put seismics on and tag/narc.

I'm going to forego this poll, as the individual chassis examples have muddied the results. New poll incoming. (If a Dev would lock this thread for its flaws, that'd be great.)

What muddied the results was a poll being closed that flat out was based on ecm being removed essentially or nerfed, and guess what that was going the same way as this one , the votes were heavily favouring removing ./ nerfing ecm.

Ironically, the Jenner (specifically, the JR7-D) was originally slated to have ECM capability, but uproar from the playerbase at the time resulted in it being pulled. And people say "PGI never listens to the 'community'"... :P

Yeah, I remember that as well. As you can tell I am still a little butt hurt over it but I think I am getting better.

i'v been using LRM mechs almost exclusively for 4 months now and every single mech in the game could have ECM installed it it wouldn't faze me or alter my game in the slightest

i laugh at mechs that wasted the tonnage and slots on ECM while they get the rain of death, and laugh even harder at people complaining ECM is 'op' - it's only 'op' to people who don't know how to use LRMs

Ecm is not needed on any more mechs. ECM changes the way matches play out in pug matches, and just adds a degree of "tactical" planning in 12s for breaking it t rain missles or coordinate better with your team. Having more mechs with ECM lessens the value and makes a weapon system the lore is chalk full of obsolete (to the puggies that do not know how to run them lol). Why send polls to the devs on topics that do not go toward content? This game needs more content, the private lobbies were the best step this game has taken since alpha. More of it is needed, not more ECM.

I'd like to see a heavy with ECM, and perhaps it could be justified on an Awesome variant (it needs something for defense since it gets hit like nothing else.)

LOL, you listed the mechs that shouldn't have ECM... Why not an all encompassing poll with all the mechs?

Until ECM is ripped out entirely and reworked its bad enough dealing with it in its current implementation.

A balance to ECM and canon designs being added (Looking at you Griffin and Firestarter) would be pretty cool. Maybe a new chassis that also has ECM in the light heavy area like a Thunderbolt.

I did not vote since while I do NOT want more mechs using the present ECM (or maybe any mechs using it) I do think ECM should be done differently and far less powerfully and more mechs should be able to use it.

If they want the present form of ECM too they can make it the Angel ECM and make it weigh 5 tons or something.

If you're putting ECM in, it should be on the designs that already are low on the totem pole.

Dragons or Quickdraws get my vote. They're relatively unloved and no heavies currently have ECM.

If any assaults, the Awesome. The -9Q upgrade for the 8Q -> 9M would make it reasonable to give either the ECM option, and it, like the -D-DC has a big target for an ECM location, so it wouldn't be too difficult to knock out.

No thanks. Last thing this game needs is more overpowered ECM.
