As above and referring to the IS Awesome mech. I'm not sure if this was by design, if it happens with all mechs or it is a bug.

It seems you might as well have a 100 ton mech as an 80 tonner is useless.

Cause the build has a perfect torso for centering crosshairs on!

It is just poorly scaled and the hitboxes are really bad on it. It is actually better than it used to be, they tuned it's hitboxes some, but it still sucks. If they would make it a bit narrower and make some big changes to the arm hitboxes to make them take up more of the shoulder area that is currently side torso then the center torso could be a bit slimmer and that would help it out a lot. As it is the Awesome is the worst assault I own, maybe the worst mech I own.

The reason - because most Awesomes is the worst mech on the field.... although in capable hands the Awesome is a good fighter.... problem is - most people don't waste their time on an Awesome so they never become veterans - so the awesome is still a joke build.

The Awesome's CT is a munitions magnet. That's the only thing I can figure. It's CT is so massive that it has its own gravitational pull.

They designed its geometry about 25% too wide. The Centurion also has a similar wideness, though thats in its arms not its torso.

After General Motors, I suggest PGI be investigated for a possible recall on Awsomes.

You would have enjoyed CT deaths even more before the hitbox pass, it was almost impossible to get hit anywhere but CT even with most rigorous torso twisting.

Right now, I think you can somewhat reliably spread damage to torsos by torso twisting if you don't stare at your enemy. Most of the Awesomes I kill nowadays die to side torsos. Still, you're gimped pretty much in every way if you bring one because no matter how "fixed" the hitboxes are, it's just too big for its tonnage.

The CT is enormous, its very hard to miss which is a shame because the mech is actually fantastic in the right hands as others have said, used to run a 5xMPL/SRM6 DHS 8T that I could constantly get 400-600 damage in per match.

You think it's bad now?

The Awesome's head hitbox used to be half the size of its CT. It was easier to headshot than Catapults.

The only mech that had it worse was the Atlas when that whole big pumpkin noggin counted as head hitbox.

Shouldn't this be in the New Player section?

The Awesome gets cored CT because you are standing there staring at your opponent and not protecting yourself.

I love my awesome 9M, its best used in the support role or sniping with pee pee cee's.
Don't ever be tempted to put an XL on one, and most variants have sufficient weapon slots in the CT and left and right torso, so leave the arms empty.
Roll your torso to incoming fire and use the arms as shields to soak up damage.
Once mastered, they are quite nimble for their size, i recommend you try at least a standard 300 engine in them.

Given the speeds of projectiles (like the PPC and AC5 for example), you are going to get hit. And seeing as the Awesome has a really wide CT, you are hit more easily vs other mechs.

Unless you never face your enemy, which means not shooting at them.

I always equate big CT with XL engine. Catapults got it worse, with no arm shields.
