lol
what's sad is this thread has become nothing more than a mirror to the former MWO thread on the RSI forums that eventually got shut down and from the looks of it this one is headed in the same direction because people can't stop personally insulting others.

Funny to watch though, that's why I'm subscribed to it and read it but rarely post. It's more entertainment than K Town sometimes.

Speaking of....

I don't read this thread, so far ive seen no insulting. My post could have easily be dismissed as flamebate because obviously it is not all sunshine and lolipops but that would be wrong and so far people are tentatively posting. So far so good. Do you have any views on the matter? We can talk about the matter in a general ways and stop relating to the one particular to SC since i don't care about SC just the climate that stalking your customers gives, i think as a whole it's scary.

Interesting, care to elaborate how it is "cowardly" to talk about something somewhere? Are people saying nice things on another forum also cowardly because they fear repercussion? Or maybe they are being paid? hard to trust anyone now, good or bad, since an oppressive system has been put in place. Maybe this post of your is a reaction to knowing you can be banned, could be you have once said something negative about RSI because reasons and now you fear. See how this isnt as good as you think it is?

You're kidding yourself if you think he was banned because of stuff he said on another forum. I read the whole email chain between him, Sandi and Ben. The stuff he was posting elsewhere was just the straw that broke the camel's back. He earned his ban long before he started posting elsewhere.

Ben never should have mentioned the stuff posted elsewhere. Now all you get is mock anger about how unfair it is he can't speak his mind elsewhere, when in reality he ****** up and then tried to rule lawyer his way out of it. "My right to free speech!" said everyone who knows nothing about it.

Guess what? CIG gets their right to free speech as well, and they took advantage of it. Beer4theBeerGod can whine about it all he wants, but at the end of the day he's learning about consequences. Well, he's being taught about consequences; I doubt he can learn.

How? What did they say to make use of freespeech?

It was a smart move of them saying his ban was coming before the events discussed,
"“I can tell you that the person in question violated our TOS and was banned for his behavior on the SC forums. Any further particulars for that ban are between CIG and our support staff.”"

it was less smart to say it after explicitly saying he was banned for...
“I’m honestly a little surprised that you are not aware of what caused your permaban. I am not prepared (nor do I think it is a good idea) to discuss this in great detail but the final straw which caused the permanent exclusion from the forums was your collusion with one Derek Smart Esq." After all he wasnt givent any warning or anything.

As i reread the article it seems the others werent banned for offsite activity. But were told they were being monitored on other site AFTER their ban had taken place which is even more creepy.

I don't see where any of this is confusing. You become a big enough pain in the butt, you get special attention. He crossed a threshold with the sum of his activities. He can compare himself with others all he wants, but as the #1 shitposter, he finally got the attention he wanted from CIG.

You're rules lawyering here as well.

It's not confusing. They banned him for offsite activity, they told him, they told others they monitored them after they had been banned, they changed their songs because they are new at this and need to readjust their aim. Seriously, who hires those peoples?

Freedom of speech is to express oneself without the fear of censorship or retribution. Im not sure if you are trolling or else.

Don't get me wrong, associating with DS was very stupid and they banned him because of that. It's hard to blame RSI when you know what DS is doing but I believe it's wrong none the less and it's scary that nobody cares because it's RSI.

Why is anyone even having this argument? There is no such thing as free speech on a privately run forum. It's use and the denial of use is entirely at the mercy of those who run it.

Nobody cares because he deserved it. Not because it's RSI.

Consequences. He just never thought he'd be called out on his actions. He chose... poorly.

It's been four days and ive yet to see a worldwideweb "controversy" so im going to ask here.

How do you guys feel about RSI banning people for comments made on other website/forum than RSI forum?

What is this? Where did you hear about it?

you have no freedom of speech on a company's private forum
period
you sign that away the second you agree to abide by the CoC of any privately owned forum. If you want freedom of speech then YOU host a forum allowing that.

FINE I GET IT! RSI now has power over their customers everywhere on the internet before AND AFTER they are banned. Don't let them catch you say something bad on your facebook page because you forfeited your basic human right of freedom of speech when you joined them.

I think going somewhere else to vent, with possibly other like minded people is a good thing. People need to express themselves and have the right to voice their opinion. Keep being an *** and toxic on RSI forum about Chris highjinx and you should get banned.

Have the intelligence to do it somewhere else and you should be allowed to exist. I think it's creepy to be stalked by grown-ups who spy your every move just because they don't like you.

Who do you think will learn or suffer from the consequence in this case?

He suffers by being excluded form the community directly on the official site.

Also beign able to vent and express theselves, sry can't agree, some forms of expression are so below what an adult should do or generally any human that I can not agree. No one with a proper functioning brain needs to express in such low manners. specially when its just about a game andnot even some vital things of Life.

freedom of speech is for public, when do peopel in the itnernet lern forums are NOT public space. Most of it is private owned space just allwoing everyone access as logn as he sticks with the ToS he signed. Thats a difference.

We don't know what he said, we just know he associated with a man that someone else don't like. Remember that they changed their song at least twice to serve their purpose.

The internet as a whole isnt this place of dictatorship you describe. It never was.

I want, again, to put emphasis on the fact that they are stalking people out of their turf and they keep doing so after they banned the guy. That part was especially creepy and scary to me. You can tell a guy to fkoff because he was an ******* and thats fine but then spy on him and say "oh look he now said radical things about us, we will add this to his record and use that against him" that's beyond being dishonest and reek of deception.

This is what is going on here, i don't care who this story is about, just what has transpired. I seriously thought you guys would have taken the matter more seriously than "MEH they can do it so why not".

My concern with all of this is when you find out you can't enter the COORS BREWERY TOUR because someone posted a picture of you with a micro brewery beer in your hand. You are out of luck because the boss of that micro brewery once went on record to say how much piss COORS taste like. And then, the part that really gets to me, is you say "fine, i don't like the way you are treating me and i will leave". You never said anything to deserve this yet you accept it because it is their right to ban anyone if they want. I hope you atleast spit on the guy and make sure he has a good reason to ban you, dig **** and start a war if you want, just do something.

You don't get offended that they stalk and spy and then take arbitrary decision, possibly without knowing what really happened? Society didnt evolve because we blindly accepted things that were lawful. Apathy is a sickness.

I don't get offended because I don't generally act in a manner that would warrant consequences anyway. On the occasions I do, I take what is coming to me and move on. I'm certainly not going to get hot under the collar because someone else acted like a child and suffers consequences for it.
