We have always been able to make our own games, you just need to gather together enough people to fill both sides on a public TS server. Granted, you cant choose the map, but its pretty close.
I said, in game public lobby.
I know what we can do, but your example is not the same, not even close.

It was quite impossible to engineer a close game.
Your conclusion here is wrong too. It is not the same if you always play with the same guys like 1000 times, the odds will always be the same. But with mm you play with totally random guys and the win/loss should even out. If I am on a lucky streak, I win like most of the games I play and the losing team is always below 5 kills. If the mm would equal all player skills and mech strength in a match fairly, this shouldnt happen that often. It can happen, but if you have the very majority of the games ending like this, this game is not fair.

No, not like that joke of private games. Own PUBLIC games.
Man wouldn't it be nice if the enemy would walk right into our weapon range on a flat open field so we could kill them on our terms. That is what you want JherekC.

Its possible - you have 3 ELO brackets.... take 4 players of each bracket.
The High Elo Players think they may win on their own - the Mid Range will try to make everything right and the newbs - well nobody knows what they will do.

Funny thing about that. In last weeks Stock Mass up We played for a few hours, and every so often Either we got rolled or they got rolled. It depended on the map and our load outs.
If you Min/Max that means you have purposely left a glaring hole in your combat ability. If you have a group of random players min/maxed for different battles and zero communication... You are going to lose big!

Too many times I see matches with 3 lights, 4 mediums, 4 heavies, 1 assault vs 0 light, 2 medium, 6 heavy, 4 assault.

I wanted what you can now have private as public. In a lobby. With a public chat to socialize. For everyone on the server to see. And to join in. If they feel like. Just. For. Fun.
No, you took my wish for custom public matches as "ohhw he wants easymode" while I no where said anything close to what you wish I'd said, just because you just didn't like the idea of premade public custom matches and have nothing more to say against the idea as that it doesn't meet your personal taste (maybe, because it was not in the books?).
Your argument is invalid.

Speak for yourself. I care more about the skill of the pilot then the size of the mech. Having to run a KDR over 3 to have any hope to have a winning percentage over 50% in an assault was not a lot of fun as a pug. It was one carry hard saga after the next.

I come on MWO for some big stompy mech fun, get my 5 matches before needing to ragequit over LRM spammers, pug lack of common sense, imbalance and everything else that royally p's me off.
Then I switch over to that other game and enjoy the actual balance, close matches, irrelevance of pug common sense and such...after 5 or so matches there I can ragequit and come back to MWO for a bit to enjoy the things this does right.
Between the 2 releases there's a decent mech game experience (RIP Exteel).

You want to pick the Place, time and flavor of the fight, You want to battle on your terms. You do want easy mode. I played in private matches and they are fun, but they are also very controlled.
They are fine if there is nothing to win or lose.
I however am here for the gritty buttwamping that is the Clan Invasion.
I choose a Inner Sphere House on the front lines cause I want to be in the thick of it all. For. The. Fun.
I wanna drop on a planet only to find out:
A) Intel messed up and our Company is facing a seasoned Battalion. "Ladies, grab your knickers this is going to be a bumpy ride"
B ) The Eridani Light horse is off world and the Militia has a Locust, 3 Hertzers, and a gumball company. "Boo! Mission Accomplished."
C) Who the heck are those guys? (Battle of the century ensues!)
So yeah, you do want easy mode if you want to control the rules of battle.

Stop blaming everything on the match maker and step your game up. You can't get worse only better. Tighten up and get better.

One Match came down to 2 Stalkers with just a brace of mediums left between em
![:P](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.png)
enemy team won, with 749 points left in Conquest. great match.
Had games where our entire lance got mangled within the first 2 minutes by probably some of the best LRM fire-support ive ever seen.
Entire Lance did less than 300 Damage.
It always been up n down, but ive had more close games the last week than usual.
Im enjoying myself.

You are implying too much, stop that, its not good for your mental health.
Yes I want to pick the place, time and flavour for the fight. Why that would be a reason for you to imply "easy mode", if lets say we have 4-8 spiders fighting each other with lasers or 8 jaegers loaded up with only autocannons is beyond any recognition, because in this case, pure pilot skills matter when all mech-modes are (roughly) the same. You can call it arcade if you want to, because it is arcade. Might be fun for some, not? If that's not your taste, fine, you are not forced to play it, what brings me directly to your next implication you did without reason: No one said, that this mode must replace the current or all futher possible modes and it was totally beside my criticism of the current matchmaker games.
And yes, I would have fun in a BTB (by-the-books)-Clan Invasion too. No where I said something else. But also with the matchmaker we are far from anything near BTB.

So?
So... I have yet to see a Mech that is BS in the game. I have faced all of it and have had fine success. I am presently using Stock Mechs in PUG matches have a 100% death rate and a 55% win rate, Match maker does not seem to be broken to me! It does seem to be using the wrong metric to place us, but it is working correctly.
