Ok lets screw the counter.... I ll tell you my experience with my friends list. I have more than 50 ppl on my list.. A year ago i could easly meet 10 + ppl on evenings... Now most ppl lost interrest in this game or are just tired of getting dissapointed again and again and iam happy if i catch a few ppl online when iam on. ... With the current system where bambis get thrown into cold water, i cant imagine many of them continue to play this game while they get frustrated.

What, exactly, makes you believe your friends list has any correlation with the number of active players. You might be able to make a correlation with retention, though I don't know if that's even true as I'm not really a statistics guy.

I told you my expereince.. I didnt say theres a objective correlation.. Instead i asked the other guy about his experience with his friends list. He replied that he kinda has the same experience with his friends list. So whats your experience with your friends list? Do ou think the community is growing?

They've done this sort of thing before and nobody believed them. I don't personally know one way or the other, so don't interpret this as a defense that all is well. The truth is that none of us know and the fact they removed the counter isn't proof of anything other than they believed it wasn't productive to have it in game. Plenty of other games have made similar decisions. Sure, some games include it. That doesn't mean the ones who don't are in imminent threat of failure. It doesn't mean they aren't either.

I'd be happy to link some posts from doomsayers going back for YEARS for WoW.

Whenever PGI makes a tweet, their numbers always have certain qualifiers with them, which caused people to question. Also there was the timing...like I believe they mentioned some sort of number after 3PV was released. Which everyone knew was BS because even Paul says they purposely gimped 3PV.

And do you know how many people played WoW? Even if you linked me 100 different "doomsayers" it would still be a drop in the bucket.

Where as here, it seems like more than half of the official forums are doomsayers.

WoW has NEVER had that level of pessimism.

To be fair, PGI has definitely not helped themselves by trying to assuage people's anxieties or angst with the right level of information, the right interaction with the community, or - let's face it - in many cases the right tone. Whether or not the membership is declining, this is definitely a point I'll agree with. Blizzard has had many disconnects with its fans and some rampant imbalance, but they've always been pretty good about maintaining meaningful dialogue even if they didn't always take feedback to heart.

I have a hard time with that one. I have played thousands and thousands of games, but I could probably count the number of videos I've watched on one hand. Maybe I'm an exception and there's something to be gleaned there though. I don't know. I'm definitely an experiential learner.

How do MWO videos compare with videos from other similar games of the same type? That might be an interesting comparison.

Heres the official Mwo Teaser.. Its now 3 or 4 years old.. At that point the game wasnt out so ppl only had the option to look into that video to have an idea how the game could look like.

The Youtube click barely reached 100k after 4 Years!

I know it's not a direct comparison, but StarCraft is wildly popular and this is an official teaser.

Yeah, I don't know...there still could be some good information to glean from looking at these things. I'm just not sure.

Again: Elo doesnt looks for individual Elo Points.... Instead it compares the total Team Elo Poitns with the other team.. That what it does

If there are newer posts that explain matchmaking please link them for me.

http://mwomercs.com/...79-matchmaking/

As far I as know the matchmaker uses each players individual Elo to build teams, which is why they had to increase the threshold to reduce wait times, and then uses each team's average Elo to assign end of match scoring, which is why the system blows.

Fat chance pal.

You open this topic with this insulting title in feature suggestion subforum.

There I told you - that your average Matchscore is the worst possible option to rank players.

Simple because you can never hold your match score when you drop with equals. That means you will always drop to lower levels. To hold or at least to have a average match score means that every player in the same team does the same damage, the same number of assists and the same number of kills all the time.
Would never happen.

After i have told you - you wrote "Pls Close" - and you did open a topic in GD. Only to get a friendly advice by a moderator to stay with your first topic - you ignored him. And opened the topic for a third time - maybe even a fourth?

Anyhow they simple merged the topics - and sometimes mistakes happen - and my critism was removed - good for you - but here I am. Still saying a Matchscore Ranking including average function is the worst option for the Matchmaker i can imagine.

Yes they use each individual PLayers Elo but they cummulate the Elo to a Team Elo. MEans There can be in team one 10 Newbees and 2 Extreme Good PLayers to give you a harsh example and Team 2 might have a few newbees and average players.

Did you have the feeling that the match maker was working anytime since mwo is out of CB? I actually never had the feeling in this game, even without elo and without
12/12 that the match maker was good.

I'd like a ladder/ranking system similar to what SC2 has..

Just got in a match where I was one of two players that did more than double digit damage.. because the whole team wanted to use the mighty base turrets for cover..

And for every game similar to this i can give you a example - where the top players of a team are those that were not able to read the map - arrived to late in battle to make any progress but earning some kills while shooting at crippled Mechs with low ammo and armor.
W/L will penalize those players. While if you are really that good and able to carry your team on your own W/L will benefit your work.
