And even with the patch, the matches did not change much. Just had two matches (after more than 5 minutes wait for each) and both went 12-3

Congratulations. You broke the game because you don't know how to play test.

Supremely pissed off. If I lived in Vancouver I just might come yell a few choice words at you. It would be worth the drive.

A bit of a sidebar here,
R&R went away for a different reason. While it contextually makes a lot of sense, especially when one is engaged in a long-term tabletop campaign. For all it adds in immersion for those BT fans, feedback at the time suggested that having a big negative number on display in the system attached to regular gameplay was generally psychologically perceived to feel like a tax on playing the game. Unfortunately, there were few ways to adjust besides simply averaging the difference those fees made into the rewards and removing the punitive or demoralizing presence it had for those players.

The system also provided a pretty brutal edge-case: Players can always find a way to put their Mechs into too much disrepair to send them into battle, and yet have already spent their CBills on equipment or such, preventing further play. While a workaround was introduced through Trial Mechs, the situation arising itself can be too demoralizing to many players in an online environment where one expects continuous progression and cannot simply load up their last saved checkpoint.

Instead of justifying the unjustifiable, why don't you just spend your time FIXING YOUR GAME!

So..... I noticed that the new matchmaker takes less time to find a match if you pay attention to the pop up under the launch button. Great feature! A pop up that tells what percentage of chasis types are being played and suggests what kind of chasis will result in faster matchmaker times. Not only that, we also have the option of forming private matches with friends using mechs of any size, weight and chasis type. You can also customize map selection and game mode in these private matches.

However, shame on you PGI for being the only game developer willing to create this game that we all love to ***** about and yet continue to play.. Not only that. How dare you work so hard to give your clients a timeline of content release, deliver said content (with some minor delays) and still put up with the constant nay say.

I LOVE THIS GAME! !
I LOVE THE PATCH!!
YAY 3/3/3/3!

I'm in the "recommended" type of mech and it's still taking longer than 10 minutes. So say all you will man, the system is broken from a user standpoint today.

I would have been very pleased with those package offers about a year and a 100 million c-bills and 10 Hero Mech sales ago.

But if you're new, that seems like a pretty fair deal.

And I'm interested in what that wait-time indicator tells you when half the people I see on-line in my friends list are in groups...

Perhaps it is time to scrap the current match maker code and start afresh? Every new patchwork attempt has met with utter failure. This should indicate that some of the older code is probably fubar.

Alternatively, consider outsourcing this coding bit and re-focus on working towards CW/Clans/MAPS

You don't think they need a customer to show up at their doorstep and give them a piece of his mind? I've spent close to $400 in 1.5 years on the game, I think that entitles me to some feedback.

Great

Before this patch I used to hate waiting 3-4 min for a drop. Now I can play the table top MechWarrior before we get a drop in this game.

Yeah listen I was a advocate of 3/3/3/3 but I just waited 15 minutes for a battle which wasn't balanced and just turned out to be campwarrior online , I think your player base is simply to low now , Keep money grabbing this isn't a insult I think this game is now in serious trouble , Milk it for as long as you can . You clearly cant balance it you lost to many players waiting to long.

With the class limits lifted again, at least for the time being, has the 1-premade per teamrestriction been re-instituted, or is that still removed?

What kind of testing process, if any, is done on these patches before their release?

It can't be some random chance that causes every patch to have significant problems, it has to be some kind of procedural error that lets these bugs get through.

Might not be there fault the games been a unbalanced grind fest for that long there simply isn't the player base anymore to balance it , everyone jumped ship , may not be a poorly implemented patch that's the issue, rather a poor track record.

First part, 100% understandable. Quoted part..
Players could still play but they were in negative values (debt) until making a positive income. I felt and feel, and thankfully in one of the very last Ask the Devs Paul expressed a similar opinion here, that if brought back it'd need to wait until after Community Warfare and be completely overhauled from the ground up.

Some things it absolutely cannot do: Use an arbitrary percentage of 'free'. If it gives anything for free, it should be a very strict, set limit. Example, 2 tons of ammunition reloaded free. Any more and you're paying out of pocket.

It gave 80% ammunition free, which then prompted the most dramatic over-abundance of LRM and AC boats we have ever seen in the history of the franchise.
When it gave 25% repairs free, players would field mechs in complete disrepair to always have a profit.

The difficulties stemmed from a combination of no fallback plan, no distinction between hardcore and regular play, etc. Some quickies in the spoiler.
Spoiler

What it needs is good design and more importantly good timing behind it. The original wasn't well planned and instituted far too early; without Community Warfare and the long term goals, it really is simply a tax.

You should ask George (the voice actor aka Duncan Fisher) first. He seems to be very happy to do any projects, but as it's his voice it's only proper to ask first.

But that covered, then we can make one together.

Someone I helped during his start into MWO last year said that he saw a post where I said I wouldn't be able to get the Clan mechs.
It was mentioned that it would be a shame if I would not be able to provide help for players using Clan mechs, and when I accepted I was under the impression of "one Clan mech."

He was so overly generous in his 'thank you' for what he called being "a pillar helping to build the community" that when I read "It is done," I checked to see what mech either via package or Al La Carte I'd be getting.

...and then promptly spit coffee all over my TV monitor and was quick to both express gratitude and ask if perhaps there was a mistake.
Spoiler

Lets just say I won't have much trouble getting Lordred to do screenshots of the Clan mechs, nor will I have issues helping out in such a video (as I was planning to do it myself anyway).
--------

This community, both in its newer members and long standing Battletech fans, is amazing and there is great potential in it. Sometimes I wish PGI and IGP could take a step back and realize it, then develop the game with us in mind.

wow dude that must have been an awesome feeling wish some one would buy me the masakari package been staring at it longingly trying to justify $240 any one ? i'll be ya best buddy :)
