The system also provided a pretty brutal edge-case: Players can always find a way to put their Mechs into too much disrepair to send them into battle, and yet have already spent their CBills on equipment or such, preventing further play. While a workaround was introduced through Trial Mechs, the situation arising itself can be too demoralizing to many players in an online environment where one expects continuous progression and cannot simply load up their last saved checkpoint.
"Edge-case," was it? And all the guys playing Std engined Hero 'Mechs, so they could make a little cash despite the expected loss to someone in a full-race unit? Was that not "edge?"
R&R was bad: That no one seriously suggests Elo could prevent R&R from inverting the current normal-distribution bell-curve might just tell us more about matchmaker then R&R …

It kills me to see 3s offline again when players are largely swept away by how much better an experience games with broad representation can be. I'm bummed. I hope to see your efforts bear fruit.

You don't think they need a customer to show up at their doorstep and give them a piece of his mind? I've spent close to $400 in 1.5 years on the game, I think that entitles me to some feedback.
I don't actually. Ultimately, this isn't a big deal
sh*t happens
get over it
Yea it sucks that you can't play right now but god forbid you have to do something else while they fix a problem
Niko is doing a good job at least of letting us know what's going on
So yea
Just calm down everyone, your precious gaming time will be back soon enough and you can commence freaking out about other petty issues once again

We are going to see how this works out, there remains a strong possibility we will have to further increase this maximum or altogether shut off the class limits and revert back to group limits in the interim, so please stay tuned here. We are playing by ear on this one as we build the data. Thanks again for standing by.
And there was much rejoicing. Seriously, I was so sick of nothing but meta heavies and assaults. Now to go drop in my Centurions and Hunchbacks again. (yay)
EDIT: Aww, disabled again? Oh well, glad to see you guys working hard on it.

Might not be there fault the games been a unbalanced grind fest for that long there simply isn't the player base anymore to balance it , everyone jumped ship , may not be a poorly implemented patch that's the issue, rather a poor track record.
So how is that not their fault?

Yep, Niko is doing a fab job. But if you think spending $400 on something doesn't entitle you to an opinion on that thing, then you have more money than sense.

Also, have a method of reverting the patch quickly and easily for when the "Beta Feature" period is over.
Similar to you Public Tests, but a lot more wide-spread and a much larger player count.

Hey I didn't say that, of course you can have an opinion
but over reaction is over reaction no matter how you slice it

If only this was an isolated incident you might have a point. 1.5 years ago I might have taken the same position you are now.

But then over-reaction is entirely subjective mate. For $400, I'd turn up at someone's doorstep. People only hand wave because they've got it into their heads that because it's a video game, we should expect it not to work. We *shouldnt* expect it not to work.
That being said, I would'nt blow $400 on a video game, so....
