Well, to be fair, large (15+) groupings of missiles tend to miss a portion on small stationary targets. Thats been a thing for as long as i can remember. If the grouping were any tighter, we'd go back to the CT hunting murder missiles we had in that one bug a while back, lol.
I might take out my A1 Kitty and see what its like in the live environment. And tank my KDR while doing it XD

like I said, some misses, fine, but same test ground, same ranges, LRM30 killed the commando, pretty consistently in 3 total volleys.

Hope you have more success with the client than I have.

Well, what did you expected? You gyus spam too many LRM's and therefore the LRM manufacturer ran out of explosives. But by their capitalistic nature, they still sell your Missiles.

At day one of this tactic, no one recognized 1 out of 20LRM's came without explosive warhead. So they kept going.
At day two, 2 out of 20 LRM's

and now we are at day 18.

no, us and House Kurita only did that with the Missile we sold you Space Vikings. "Claim" your independence, then come clamoring to us for handouts..... pfffffft.

So... Just ran a match on HPG in my 6xArty5 Kitty. Confirmed hits making their way through AMS, including a 30 second unbroken launch streak at a Jager, ended the match after expending 1500 Missiles....
Embarrassingly .. This is the result.

Which is doubly unfortunate, considering my favorite Stalker relies on Streaks as close range Anti-Light/Medium deterrents ~_~

I havnt had a chance to play with the new patch but if things are like the people are saying they are then I do not want too. I tend to run LRM's as support on my Mechs, and SRM's form the main strike power on my Locust and half the brawling potential on my Atlas. My Centurion makes use of an LRM 10 with Artemis fire control for its long range/indirect fire potential. I find the PPC+AC Meta to be boring and a terrible waste of such good potential from a game within the MechWarrior franchise. It is boring and leads to the stagnation of the system as it does not allow for much variation of the Mechs. You can still get a good brawl but these are rare, and you are usually end up sniped before you can get within range. To all those noobs that have been calling for a nerf: Well done. Slow clap. Congratulations, you have nerfed the missile to extinction. I hope you feel happy now that the only weapon combos that really work are your Metatard builds. But youll still die. Youll still fail. Why? Because people like myself, like Bishop Steiner, like col jeremiah rose and like many others here will not leave. We will still be there, and we play and win through skill, not the latest instawin button. And we will not go. You have not saved yourselves, you have merely picked the method of your destruction.

I wonder if there are still plp that died because of LRMs currently.
And i wonder how many of them are "learning" to ignore LRMs and removing AMS.
And i wonder how many of them will die instantly when the LRMs got hotfixed.
And of course i can't wait to see the "NERF LRM" rants will flash out - by "posters" with a count of 1 or 2 posts)

Why do i get the feeling that this shows how bad clan LRM's are going to be? :D

Expect similar fail performance out of standard Clan SRM launchers as well. Half the weight, pathetic firepower per launcher, and nowhere near the hardpoints needed to produce equivalent effects with the same amount of launchers by tonnage- oh, and twice the rate of ammo consumption. At least.

I've been calling this since PGI said Clantech would be "balanced" to the same levels as an IS 'Mech of or within 5 tons as the Clanner. There is no way to do that without gutting them.

Another example of PGI not listening to the fans, and thus not understanding the game.

and you don't think this is necessary? - you think Clan stuff should be as far ahead of IS as it is in TT? did you never want to see another IS mech ever again, or is it just that you've bought a clan pack and wanted free fun curbstomp time on everyone who didn't for a couple months?

I scoff at the Clanners and still want them to be the beasts I have fought for 20+ years.

I wouldn't touch a Clan grabdeal with a 20-foot pole while wearing a hazmat suit.

Clan 'Mechs should never have been dropping with IS ones to begin with, and placed into numerically inferior groupings when engaging IS forces to boot. The one thing people fail to realize is that Clan 'Mechs die from exactly the same amount of damage everything else does in their weight class. The only difference is a Clan 'Mech would have more firepower per unit- but fewer units, meaning both a strategic drawback in cap-related games and a more rapid "snowball" of unit failure as the same amount of firepower directed at a smaller Clan unit vs. a larger IS one means hacking a bigger chunk out of the Clanner in terms of effectiveness.

Instead, PGI didn't try. Years back,I was looking forward to seeing smaller, tech-superior forces fighting larger but still effective ones. Instead, I get to laugh at the "best" in Battletech bumbling around like inbred cousins of the first Mackie.

This already happened once before and then it was nothing but LRM5 KTOs for a week. :D

Hitreq and lag compensation should really be working well before they do heavy balancing work, but hey...

At least they are working on balance !!! :D

And you don't think that the vast majority of gamers, roleplayers aside (who make up a very small percentage), would choose the numerically inferior side in order to be individually more powerful? causing a completely lopsided situation where the supposedly numerically inferior side has vastly MORE players? because that is what definitely would happen. Asymetrical balancing does not work when each player only controls one unit, because no one chooses the side where they are weaker.

I still ran IS 'mechs and tech all the time in MW 4, regardless of it being weaker. And I had great success with it. :D Just ask my Argus, he was nasty.
