I removed a lot of posts for developer bashing or simply being unconstructive and off-topic.

Please avoid all those things in your future discussion in this thread and if some of your posts are missing please re-read the code of conduct.

Well, you know, a lot of us would like to say nice things about the devs, But they keep breaking all our toys. Some of us have spent a lot of money on those toys.

Perhaps, they would be viewed more favorably, if they actually tried to communicate with us HERE on the MWO forums with a little more regularity and transparency? I'm glad Russ finally responded this morning to my rabble rousing, but should we REALLY have had to go to those extents to get a simple "oh crap!, We'll Look into it?".

While I agree, bashing for the sake of bashing is not constructive, it is getting harder to defend them the further down the rabbit hole we go. Maybe when you see all your former white knights abandon you, it's time to really start rethinking your direction and strategy?

That's the least likely of all position changes.

what, me burning my white knight tabard, or the unholy Trio actually figuring out how badly they pooched it with one of the most loyal fanbases any IP could ask for? Not to mention, financially solvent fanbases.....that could have funded them for a long time, if they weren't so hellbent of incompetency.

I still feel you guys and others did more harm than good early on, but regardless of whether they just quit listening due to all the toxic crap in the forums back in the day, or if they really just were that out of touch from day 1.........

They've never listened to any of us, even way, way back.

can't really argue. Might not 100% agree, but the end result is still the same.

Greetings MechWarriors,

As you may be aware, a bug affecting missiles was discovered after yesterday's patch. We have tracked down the issue, which had been affecting LRMs, SRMs and Streaks. A fix has been made and is currently undegoing an internal test before we release it in a hot fix.

Please note that this particular hot fix will require a game restart and patch from the players. Those in a match during the hot fix may lose connection.

The hot fix is scheduled for 6:30PM PDT / 9:30 PM EDT / 12:30 AM UTC

For you all.

Well, do to client issues, have not got to test in game. But for the short amount of time I was in testing grounds, Missiles appear to have returned to their viable, pre-patch state.

Thank you for addressing it in a reasonable timeframe, PGI.

I hope you know that many of us that say bad stuff about PGI really, really want to be able to say good stuff

Yes, I do know that! But when the bad stuff that's being written ends up as insults and calls for firing people, it's going to far.

I do understand the frustration. I really do!

But is that really a good justifaction for being destructive, insulting and borderlining on harrasment on the forums? There is always the option to express your anger without stepping over the line.

Some of the posts, if I hadn't simply removed them as a clean-up action, would have been justification for a suspension if they were reported seperatly. That's how bad some of that content was!

while i agree with the first part, that insulting certain people is going too far, i think i disagree with the second one...

while i never stated that someone should be fired (at least not here in this community), i can understand why people do that.

when i go to a bakery and buy a cake, and that cake is just plain bad, because it's bad by all standards of human society (maybe because it's oversalted or something), then i have a bad cake. Yeah ok, that can happen, we are all humans, i can understand that.
So i go to the bakery again, with the oversalted cake, and claim a new one or the old one to be fixed somehow, and the second cake (or fixed one) is still bad, then it's either bad luck or the baker may have some trouble in his private life, distracting him from his work (or whatever reasons).
Now i go to the bakery again, for the third time, with the second bad cake and i claim a new one again... and the third cake is still completely fubar'd... than the baker just missed his profession and simply is a ****** baker. So he should go and look for something else he can do, and can hopefully do better then baking cakes.

And yes, some guys at PGI are maybe not the best bakers in the world. And while working for a company developing video games, they are somehow public persons (at least for their customers), and they have to deal with the people rioting for their dismissal. That's something every boss, politician, sportsman or whatelse has to deal with.

I still see a scaling of damage depending on distance to target with LRM's.

Hotfix did not fix what it was meant to fix., we need a HOTTER fix please.

I agree and I don't agree because yes it's good to let the community vent, and I'm very against censorship, but I also appreciate how hands-off moderation is here compared to other online communities that run in full "nanny-state" mode to protect their bottom line. Some even try to hide a clause in the EULA that you're not allowed to use the forums to write negative reviews about them, as laughable as that is.

i agree with you, there are communities and forums out there in the wild wide of the interwebs, which are moderated in a much harsher and stricter way.

But if people say "developer XYZ should be fired because he messed up patch after patch" and they can actually prove that (that's the important point here, bring arguments to prove your statement), than that's a valid argument and should not be deleted. People can argue about that statement, whether his/her arguments are right or not, but simply deleting it... don't like that.
It will only result in driving away the critics to another community where they can discuss their opinions without being "moderated" in that way. So in the end, the argument and the statements will still be there, just without any possibility for PGI to react to them and maybe give some kind of explanation. The loser in that situation is the developer himself.

But sure, if customers just say "developer XYZ should be fired NAAAOOO" without any objective arguments, just delete these posts, i'm with you here.

Can we please not discuss the moderation here or on other forums and get back on topic. Yes, I know that I'm partially to blame here. As informative and constructive those last posts were, they were off-topic. :)

Sure we can, and yes, you are right, was OT... but maybe you could send these last posts to Niko or someone else... maybe they would have a look at them and maybe think about that... there is no riot without a reason...

i'm out, thanks :D
