I can answer that one. Looks like the arms are at hip level, not knee cap.

With that Torso twist thingy not really a nova, but it looks great. Nose could be a tiny bit longer.
The prime variants little ears compared to the regular Variant is also nice.
It's indeed beautiful
I just wonder one thing: when the CT and probably the legs define the Variant, the Nova doesn'T really differs, since all these 3 variantes have the exact same CT/Leg configuration. So the only thing they may differ are possibly different quirks.
@One Way Pilot
if your are 1h left from dying, you will ALPHA with this mech in a dead end situation, there is no reason not to throw out these high dps alpha if your end is inevitable. And hey, thats the best part at the Nova, going literally Supernova.

That looks like a whole 10 degrees of rotation to me. Arguably, it still *doesn't* have torso twist...

Nevertheless, it's still a beautiful design.

I'm not too sure. 4 MGs for heatless fire. Only 2 tons including ammo. 20 DHS to keep it cool.
8 ERSLs for 40 damage, 4 ERMLs for 28 damage.
"Firepower" of 88. One unused crit slot.
It'll have a pretty high heat cap, ghost heat depending, this should be a viable enough loadout. And the heatless MGs when cooling. Like a giant, slow Ember.

On the game mechanics' side of things, though, with the rates of fire as high as they are, the high number of medium lasers on the Nova doesn't make any sense what so ever.
Cooldowns are far too short for any kind of effective chain firing. I think here it's more than obvious (even more than with the Stalker or Awesome) that the current heat system is lackluster.
All that's left is to use those gazillion energy hardpoints for silly alpha strikes. And shutdowns.
Did I mention that shutdown time is too short?

You forgot beam duration as a potential - there are probably a few others (they have played with range /some/ remember the AC/2 nerf?) but yeah - not a whole lot.
As for the people getting upset about it not being able to alpha - dude(tte)s - neither MW2 or 3 would let you alpha with that loadout.

Tell me that its going to be super slow and have crazy heat problems and I'll pick this one up in a second!

The stock load out came from the table top game. You may also note that nobody runs stock because they are universally terrible in this game. Just swap out one arm for a ballistic arm or drop some of the ER mediums to ER smalls.
