To Russ:

Question 1: Right now, gameplay weapon variety is at an all time low. PPCs, Autocannons and Gauss have dominated this game for over a year now. Brawling is all but dead. Players are scared to fight up close. At this time, I think the best thing PGI could do is remove HSR for missiles, put SRM damage back to 2.5 per missile, put splash damage back in for just SRMs to closed-beta levels and re-implement the old flightpath that rewarded skill with the in->out->in pattern (they hit all in one location up close and nearing maximum range). What are the chances of this happening?

Russ, I guarantee you your game would improve dramatically overnight.

Question 2: How about removing Ghost Heat on all weapons except PPCs?

Since PPCs are used all the time due to their front-loaded, minimum exposure pinpoint benefit, it seems logical to try this. The game is stale.

Question 3: How about giving the Dragon 5N six ballistic hardpoints in that arm? Six machine guns... The Dragon needs a major buff.

Question 4: How about removing terrain movement penalties for all 'mechs that can't mount jump jets?

Question 6: How about setting heat to a 30 point scale, doubles to 2.0 and setting the heatsink cycle time in step with the medium laser instead of ten seconds?

Question 7: How about splash damage for PPCs?

Question 8: How about damage over time (burst-fire) like you are doing for Clan autocannons also being applied to Inner-Sphere ones?

Question 9: How about reverting the Medium/Small Laser/Pulse Laser damage nerfs from back in closed beta? i.e. reduce their heat by 1 point.

Very glad to see this happening. Thank you, Russ and everyone. However, this seems like damage control because the hype doesn’t match updates.

They need to put updates INTO CONTEXT with the development plan and stop over hyping it as glorious new content. The fact is that all the updates will initially be beta-level unloadtested content and players should expect bugs, imbalances, and need for rework. The over hype from IGP and PGI feels profit motivated and not in context with existing content and certainly not in context with what then appear to be “crash and burn” updates.

PGI, stop over hyping and put things in context. You will appear much more ingenuous the fans will understand and support you more.

unless they're going to give hard INFORMATION on CW and clans its not going to be worth much. Release dates for CW are meaningless as PGI has long proven any schedule is fantasy

It doesn't have as many active users.

Thanks to all the PGI team for your work and for a great game already (yes MWO is a great game in my opinion) in spite of what hasn't been fixed, added, improved, delivered yet. I hope MWO will continue to be improved day by day, week by week etc.

Question: A few weeks ago Russ discussed possible fixes to the SRMs not counting hit points correctly. Is there a fix yet? If not, is it still a high priority to fix? If yes, when will the fix be implimented?

My main concern, and that of many longtime players of the MechWarrior series is:

Shouldn't the Mechs be made tougher, maybe through internal structure and weapon hitpoints, or even more armor points, rather than all the Inner Sphere weapon nerfs?

If this had been done instead of Ghost Heat, DHS 1.4, and the Gauss Rifle de-sync, the damage output of Inner Sphere mechs would be optimal (perhaps only needing a mech destroying hard heat cap). This would make them close to Clan tech levels of damage and Clan tech and omnimechs would only need minor balance tweeks instead of what we are seeing and hearing.

No need to nerf weapons.
And no sense in adding more armor, when there is pinpoint burst damage.

If you want mechs that feel amore robust, lower rate of fire, less pinpoint damage, and more/linear heat effects/penalties are the way to go. Imho that's the key to proper gameplay. And if you say that's not possible, you're a bad game designer and lack imagination.
Establishing 'heat neutrality' as a boogeyman term, deciding against some sort of tiered system and not implementing something along the lines of combat value/battle value were the worst calls that could be made.

Let clan mechs be 'superior' all they want. If a sufficient amount of Inner Sphere technology and pilot skill is matched against them, it will be a fair fight. No need to nerf or leveling down.

One example of out-of-the-box thinking: Let clan omni mechs have 3 (or so) preset configurations. You can set them up and just before a map starts you get to choose one of your configurations.
That would be the advantage of having an omni-mech - choosing the best tools for the job.
Overpowered? Not if you factor it in into the matchmaking.

r/mwo has half the active members (at most) and long since ceased to be a place for serious or constructive discussion. Most of it is the same seven or eight people repeatedly griping about things they lack the expertise to judge (like PGI's character, and game design).

Imagine that player base rocked after the latest patch, no new content, no maps, no new mechs just slapping lipstick on a pig calling it a hero mech and of course new cockpit items to spend money on....so he lets do a Q&A cuz that will make it alllllll ok.

should be

"UI two point O blows..." That would make it appropriate.

I have one question for Russ.

Why do you guys ask for feedback and then ignore it?

Just remember folks, any and ALL things Russ, Bryan, or Paul say both on and off the forums are not reflective of PGI's vision or current direction for MWO, or their attitudes towards the game's community, and are subject to redaction and position changing at any given time.

Russ, you need to put the pedal to the medal on real solid game content delivery besides mech chassis's and hero's. Clan mechs and clan tech are all well and good but save for the recent launch module meaty features have been sorely missed. Community Warfare is out on the horizon but realistically where are we and what is well and truly in the pipe for delivery now?

Additionally at your discretion:
Decals?
Stock Mechs Only?
PUG Pre-Match Map Selection?
Command Console?
MASC?
Consumable Auto Refill?
New Maps?
New Modules?
New Consumables?
Consumable/Module slot differentiation?
Pilot Tree Revamp?
New IS weapons systems?
Collisions/DFA?

I don't think we will hear anything new. And if we do, nobody knows when it will be implemented...

And even if it will be implemented, it will not work. As always...so don't expect anything.
