Because of all the clans, they have the best mechs, the best color scheme, and are the only sane ones in the bunch.
That and because...

Otherwise steel vipers because of the goshawk.
Until I am forced to choose however I will defend the inner sphere with all I have.

They aren't alone in that either. A lot of the Warden clans have varying degrees of give in their ways. Wolf in Exile for example (And really Wolf before the split) allowed an IS Freebirth Bondsman to not only compete for a blood name but move up to become their Khan. Something I'm fairly certain quite a few of the other clans would never consider tolerating.
Then there's Diamond shark. The top of the totem pole in their clan, unlike the vast majority of the others, isn't the warrior castes but rather the merchants.
Are some of the clans dark and opressive? Hell yes. But no more so than the Inner Sphere so many of you seem to love so much. House Kurita is the best example by far. Hell they were so set in their ways they made even the Clans stop and wonder in a few cases (Especially with how they had a habit of fighting to the death of the very last man). And let's not forget how Kurita treats people in general. I mean hell one good quote off of Sarna really sums it up:
On September 9 2796, Coordinator Jinjiro Kurita, consumed with bloodlust, ordered his troops to slaughter the citizens of Kentares IV to the last man

Timberwolf = op.
the chain favors wolf, so probably clan Wolf would be the best decision.

Also I am curious what will devs do with people who bought smoke jags...I mean....they all should vanish in the future... . With some info, Id go for them, since they have nice camo (and brutaly awfull sign).

AHAHAHAAHA, no it can't 2 alphas and your atlas is done, if the DW pilot has skill a properloadout and knows what he is doing. simply look at the tournament scores. They show quite accurately what top pilots can perform with these mechs.

EDIT - Oh, and we have the best mechs and best weapons, if you want to get into that.
Blood Asp? Check!
Heavy Lasers? Check!
Only Clan other than the Jade Falcons to win during the Trial of Refusal? Check!
Not giant douchebags like Jade Falcon? Check!
Not one of the Big 4 that everyone and their dog chooses? Check!
I like the way this guy thinks.....
CSA all the way!
