Good report.
I liked the bit where the Daishi waked around the corner and went "Oh dame"

I like when he massively overheated and his LRM ammo exploded.

....I also liked the platform thing. It kinda trapped me. "Some walls move..."
"How the heck did I get up here?"

Lol, poor Dire Wolf, such a bad pilot :P
Misses with 4 ER LL on a 5... and then explodes his LRM ammo in the first round.

Where do people come up with the time to write that?

Not writing when its all copy paste :P

I had two Mechanics with eight Assistants working to fix up my Annihilator after that fight againest the king crab, all they had to do was slap on some new armor and reload all the guns, took em the better part of the day replacing the armor.

The Clan techs 'tried' to repair the Dire Wolf, but it was just too far gone.

In the first round, were you able to select which ammunition to use on the KGC-010? Stock it comes with 3 tons of slugs (standard rounds) and 3 tons of cluster.

In the second battle was Lordred choosing to fire clusters first or was it random? The Annihilator-1X also comes with 3 tons of slugs (standard rounds) and 3 tons of cluster. Standards should have been fired first and clusters only when a section of armor had managed to been destroyed.

Edit: NM, now I see where it says Lordred fired standards first and destroyed your cockpit armor.

Found it, Megamek.

HERE I COME!

(I always wanted to try the "real" battletech games. Even if I'm not a fan of Game of that sort.)

I switched back and forth. In one round I fired a standard round and a cluster in the same turn.
In the second match we both did it back and forth.

Not long from now, me, Lordred, and possibly some others will be playing a campaign. You're welcome to join us. You'll see the real reason why all the mechs in TT aren't "upgraded to the max."

Come to think of it. I can't recall which mech it was but we were curious. So here's a few of the common changes done in MWO...

"Removed 200 fusion engine for 300
converted to endo structure.
standard heatsinks to doubles.
Removed several heatsinks.
1.6 years (partially due to mechanic incompetence) and 2 months to find parts and have them shipped."

Changing a Commando 1-D's large laser to 2 medium lasers and putting the change in weight all into armor.
First time
From Scratch:
"Switching 1 large to 2 mediums, replacing the change in armor.
28 days to obtain the parts. Work not yet begun.
March 10th 3049, work begins.
April 1st 3049.
Final laser delivered.
Mech work partially done on April 11th 3049. Laser is miswired, not properly functional.
Mech completed on April 21st, 3049 and fully functional."

Second time.
"After doing it, retro fit kit is made.
With kit:
Feb 1st
28 days
March 1st, parts delivered.
March 2nd, mechanics begin work.
March 7th to see if completed; fails.
March 12th, mech is ready for service."
(Forgot to hit enter.)

As Lordred said, copy/pasted. Megamek does all the rolls and such for us. We just input commands and see what happens.
(Second match I royally screwed up; I fired a second PPC when I meant to fire the second SRM-6 rack, causing me to fry heatsinks).
Can you imagine a game where in 10 seconds, you can only fire 2 LBs, 1 SRM-6, and 2 PPC and FRY heatsinks?

Though that Dire Wolf in the first match barely fired enough to shut down an MWO Victor. (70+ heat generated? You know MWO Victors usually carry 76 threshold on the typical builds found on Smurfy? All that would have happened would have been shutting down; nothing else. But instead he taxed the heatsinks, melting some. Even worse, he detonated ammunition! Blew off the entire side of his torso!)
(Edit: 2 PPCs. Not 1.)

It's not a huge visual spectacle, but I did love that my Hatchetman had a Hatchet. Lordred blew the damn side off before I could use it though. :o
I even had to hold fire on everything to swing it, and he just BLOWS IT OFF mid swing! Not fair... not fair...

Looking back at it, the first 10 seconds by the King Crab is my favorite.

First volley of PPCs: Arm and CT.
First volley of LB slugs: RT and LT.

That doesn't sound like "random chance."
That sounds like a mech with no convergence whose arms fire straight, like this FASA (Battletech, Smith and Tinker) -created/published Mechwarrior game.

(Not a big fan of much of the animation here; it seems really rushed. But notice that lack of convergence? All those lasers were more of a show of aggression from a really ticked off Clanner rather than aimed shots. The King Crab in the Megamek's first hit pattern seemed to match that concept perfectly.)

For now. I just try to understand how to start a battle against a bot. Select my Mech and try to not die. X')

You'll have to teach me how to get matches started and let people connect to them. I failed horribly today.

God that was intense. I was reading the weapons fire on the Daishi in round 1, and half way through I just went "preeeety sure an arm is gonna go off". All in all the report was so detailed we may as well have been there. Thank you Koniving and Lordred for sharing this with us.

Especially in the first round

I would do it in MWO, but never in TT. But I'm a bad pilot like that. If I don't have a good heat efficiency, I will shut myself down all the time. I'm a hothead....heh. ;)

MWO doesn't punish you for alpha striking. It really doesn't punish you for much of anything, the 'thresholds' are far too high in MWO and there are no heat penalties.

MWO used to melt heatsinks and cook off ammunition in closed beta. Then they removed it. And later put in ghost heat. ;)

Sure the thresholds are high, but since the dissipation rates are so low, you will be stuck at high heat levels for a big battle. PGI could lower the thresholds if they upped the dissipation rates. Tripled firing rates while only having single rate dissipation is a bad idea. Triple heat Battletech sucks.
