Well at least whilst waiting for 10pm I can read this amusing thread and watch many people demonstrating just a few of the reasons most of the world looks down on Americans...

But on a serious note, if it is going to be a 4 hour patch starting it a couple of hours earlier is really not hard if you cba to do it at night like most sensible games. Especially when you usually start patching so late in the morning Canadian time...from what I can see there are 2 main prime times in this game and you choose to patch at the start of one of them...

I know World of Warcraft patched at the exact same time (Tuesdays at 10 am). Times are generally selected for when there are the fewest number of concurrent users, so there is a reason why this time frame is pretty widely used in the industry.

As a Swiss I was hoping to play my Summoner tonight at 07:00 pm. I also canceled dinner with my girlfriend. Sadly though this won't be possible.

No Clan Invasion for me on the 17th of June.

Playing MWO is more important to you than going out with your girlfriend? You seriously need to reevaluate your relationship, dude. You could've just played after dinner...

Bring the Test Server with clans live during patch period, problem solved

That is absolutely the best idea in this thread. We can't really do anything about Time Zones, but if the Test Server would be up and running every two weeks for a few days before the patch (including during the patch downtime), we'd have less bugs and more happy players enoying the game.

Blizzard always patches different realms at suitable times. English patches were 2am for content or like 4am for quick restart/fix.

Never had any patching starting at 6pm prime time start. :D their forums would have exploded...but then I guess that is just a difference between more popular games and niche **** like this.

What they haven't said, is that the extended 4 hrs is so they can ninja-patch in Community Warfare v1.0.......
What? I can dream, can't I?

Community Warfare 1.0 is ingame since one of the last patches.
You can buy your community's flag for your Cockpit (for example the German flag) and fight for your community.
The running Soccer World Championship should be enough to fuel old conflicts (never forget 30. Juli 1966 !) :D

Well no the maintenance begins at around 10AM PDT and lasts for 4 hours so servers should be back at 2PM PDT.
Read again. I'll bold the important part.

Attention MechWarriors,

Please be advised, MechWarrior Online will be under extended maintenance starting at:
10AM PDT / 1PM EDT / 5PM UTC
This maintenance will last approximately 4 hours.
The reason for this extended maintenance is to begin the invasion of the Clans.

Please note, this is your last call to receive social rewards on the Clan Collections sale.

If you purchase or upgrade your Clan Collection after 10AM PDT on June 17th, 2014:
Be advised that your Collection will not immediately appear in your account; After the patch, deliveries will be made daily at approximately 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT / 11PM UTC.

Ok, so that's for folks who purchase after the patch. Nevermind :D

Also, isn't UTC = GMT?

I'm +1 on the suggestion of doing patches overnight Pacific Standard Time.

Their forums exploded with every patch. When they gave shaman to the Alliance, people were saying it was the end of WoW.

So... WoW forums: just like MWO.

In regards to the requests for PGI to come in at 4am to upload the patch for players.... I gotta wonder, how happy would the person asking be if their boss made them come into work 6 hours early?

Personally, I can barely get my arse into work at the normal time. Cut my sleep by 4 or more hours and I'm useless all day. If they ever do an early morning patch, I'd be afraid some half sleep tech will spill coffee on the server...

We generally don't like the French part very much. Except for their poutine.

...For those of us who have a ton of mechs (i think with the clan pack i will be at 74-ish ) can we possibly get a tab to keep the Clan mechs and IS separate...that would be awesome.

Keep up the great work.

I was thinking the same thing while playing on the PTS, definitely need a filter for this!

Great, instead of bringing in the patch earlier, we can/could start playing with Clanmechs at 1am on Wednesday, that's what i call a BROKEN contract (Wednesday isnt the 17th, right?)! nice job, as usual, europe gets an asskick....

FAIL! this patchtimes r just damn stupid, every other game can patch his servers in the night, and u start on PM-times? WTF???? ok, its nearly night in europe, but that time... omfg -.- maybe change it to AM instead of PM, so alot more ppl can play ur damn patches on DAYTIME not in the night.

and now im re-planing my day and wait until monday to play the new stuff - F UR Information politics !

What a bunch of self-entitled and selfish ******!

As someone who insists in the office that people should perform their duties within regular working hours in the name of work-life balance, I will not begrudge PGI for the way they choose to schedule their patches.

They are not your slaves.

Could we also have a tab filtering the trial mechs from owned mechs?
Misklicked a few times and ended up with trial one in game, quite a few times.

It's a small thing to keep delivery dates, with a project months in the planning to treat such a launch as this with a standard 9-5 day is little lack luster. Also Server centres work 24/7 there are always staff present. It is too late now for any of this to be taken into account anyway. I hope for better from the next big release.
Just to be clear, I've paid money to have my content delivered on the 17th. I should feel entitled.

Wait..clan mechs aren't being delivered today?

Yeah, I personally don't need to see the trial / champion mechs anymore. And I don't have the stable a lot of people have because I sell mechs I don't like.

Hehehe, did this today with the Firestarter had a blast with it!

But yes, I wouldn't mind being able to separate those as well.

I can't wait! Just one thing though: next time you announce a patch, could you include GMT in the list of timezones?
