Good news is good news, and PGI has been doing a decent job in the last several months of a) communicating and b ) giving out little freebies when things go awry. I'm generally pleased. (Not pleased about how long it takes to save mech lab changes, but always room for improvement).

yeah, I'll believe it when I see it, but if you actually follow through this time it might bring you back to neutral with me. Still pissed off there'll be nothing new that you don't have to pay real money for in a 4 month stretch.... Giving early access for cost is one thing, but giving people absolutely nothing without paying more is just absurd...

Well it has been a rapid development cycle but we now have the Clan Invasion underway. While it wasn't as smooth as we had hoped, a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into getting these new 'Mechs into your hands and we already see the dynamics of gameplay changing on the battlefield. This venerable force returning to the Inner Sphere homeworlds is the biggest event to happen on the BattleTech timeline and we, at PGI, are glad to be able to bring the beginning of this experience to you.
It is now 3049 on the timeline and the remainder of this year is going to see a lot of new developments both in game and in lore. It is at key turning points like this that allow us to bring new systems on-line and address the needs of the network of features required for the upcoming Community Warfare push. We're pleased to let you know that the first module entering development is Unit Creation.

Units, being the MechWarrior Online equivalent of guilds, will be a new way for friends and like-minded players to get together in both a social and game affecting manner. Social interaction, member management, Unit ranks and specialized chat channels are some of the key features within this module. This in turn will be the gate for the bigger features of Community Warfare like faction combat, planetary control and partaking in the giant battle for the Inner Sphere.


This is a very exciting time for us as it is the first step in the even more exciting times coming in the near future. We raise our glasses to our community and supporters who have been here with us and we look forward to bringing you the content that we all want that will make MechWarrior Online the game we want it to be.

Looking forward to community warfare! The clan mechs are great and the new effects from their weapons are fun! Makes me want to fire my MG's just to hear them!

I'm not a programmer but I'm thinking that units that can be tracked ingame would be the first requirement for CW

And when will this Unit creation be available to start actually setting the units and structure?

Going to the faction forum location doesn't appear to show any selection for creating a unit.

Greetings all,

The communal 'Coffers' is for a later CW feature, as stated by Paul.

'- Please note that “coffer” actions are for future feature support.
- This is the initial feature set planned for Unit Creation and Management and is step 1 on the path to Community Warfare.'

Now just need to actually see this 'Form/Set Unit' feature be visible in the profile Faction area. Anyone else able to see this selection?

The biggest item I read was in the last 'clarification' statement.

IS and Clans being in the same team dropping together, will not be the normal and will soon be stopped.

- 'I've seen the rumblings of people thinking that mixed teams of Clan and IS 'Mechs will be the norm from here on out.
This is not the case.
- Faction (IS/Clan) combat is a big part of Community Warfare as are the skirmishes between the Houses themselves and the Clans themselves.
- This requires additional work to the database, player data and match making systems and will come out at a later time.

Are you saying that you haven't even started the development of the first community warfare pillar, and are only starting development on it NOW?

The one that you described to us back in September of 2013? And that you originally said that you were going to start development "soon"... Back in november of 2012?

Seriously, you said you guys were going to start development on it "soon" TWO FREAKING YEARS AGO... and now you're saying what?

You're saying that you're gonna start development on it soon?

This **** has gone so far past the point of even being funny.

Greetings all,

So, when is the 'Unit Creation' going active?

I don't see any option to form a unit within my faction selection screen, could it be that I selected the Merc's as a Faction?

OK, is it me or has anyone else noticed that the background looks like a new maps - I cannot pin it to an existing map. The ground textures of canyon, but with the tanks/pipes of Caustic...

I am so sure this is a new map!?!?!? :P :P
