Right now Raven for IS and StormCrow for Clans (both because agility, speed, flexibility).

Right now my favorites are:

1) My Dual Gauss Dual Medium Laser Ilya Muromets (mastered)
2) My Gauss Rifle Medium Pulse Laser (x7) Battlemaster (elites done)
3) My Triple ER PPC Dual Medium Laser sniper Awesome 9M (almost got elites filled out!)

I like Gauss Rifles. They are my favorite weapon. The charge time doesn't matter because the projectile speed is what makes the weapon good for me. I want to like ER PPCs more but they always moved too slow compared to Gauss Rifle slugs. I'm trying to learn how to aim with them better with my Awesome now and I've been getting some decent 500+ damage rounds even on Terra Therma and Caustic lately from my lowly world of low elo pugland. :P

I want to love my Yen Lo Wang and my Hunchback but I'm out of the groove for them right now. Some games I can do 400+ damage but over half the time I blow up with 100 or less damage done.

So ATM, mine is hands down the Griffin. Does not have quite as good of hard points as the Shadowhawk, or hitboxes, but is close. But it's agility? Off the charts, 130º twist before you unlock it, great arm reflex and 7 JJ. And the FoV? Yeah, pretty much tops. It's a flanker's dream, and can carry a great blend of energy and missiles.

When they first came out, I preferred the balanced hardpoints of the GRF-3M, but have become a died in the wool fan of the classic, GRF-1N, so much that I own 2. One optimized for my playstyle ( il Fianchetto ) and one that I run for Stock Mech matches (also use my GRF-1S for that a fair bit). I don't have the best average damage of my mechs with it, only hovering about 350 avg match damage. But I am running a 3.4 W/L and 3.6 KDr with it. The W/L in particular means a lot to me.

And.....it is simply bloody gorgeous to my mind, with a WWII Bomber aesthetic and simplicity. Please PGI, don't screw up the Hero version!!!!!!

The Griffin definitely looks the best, but all variants are just energy and missiles. We definitely need one with a ballistic slot because all the Griffins generally look the same to me on paper. I play my Griffin Missile boat or can probably go SRM brawling, but I tend to miss my Gauss Rifle too much on some days.

I'm hoping they don't just give us something like the HBK-4SP. Gridiron with Jump Jets does sound nice though.

My Fav. Mech changes every now and then, and while i will always have a special place in my heart for my metal babys, right now i mostly (and in the case of yesterday exclusively) play my Ilya.

And it's such a simple build it's just plain awesome: Dual Gauss and Dual ML.

I do not fear clan mechs. I do not fear lights. I just run around and try to kill stuff.
My aim even does get better and it's pure fun!

I managed a few AWESOME shots yesterday, including my first deliberate headshot kill. (against a MadCat... bring it on you claners!)

Griffin 1N is my waifu.  I love its hard points, its agility and its the best damn looking mech in the game.
On Clan side, its the Black Hawk / Nova Prime. I dunno what it is,  but i just feel like a god in this thing. At least until I get legged in front of an Atlas.

Stormcrow. It's basically my ideal mech; a fast, agile medium with respectable armor and versatile hardpoints. The only way I could love it any more would be if it had jumpjets, but I rarely end up feeling like I need them regardless.

The first mech I got when I started MWO was the Awesome.
Even now, it's still my favorite mech, despite all the misgivings and difficulties in piloting the chassis. I primarily pilot the Awesome almost exclusively even now, most of the time carrying the conventional 3ppc/erppc combo for particle-spewing justice against the heretics out there.

Somebody has to maintain tradition for the Awesome lore, after all.

At the moment, I am favoring the Timberwolf S (4 SRM6, 2 ERLL and 2ERML)

Others:

catapult K2 (2 ppc and 2 AC5), Cataphract 3D (Large pulses and AC10)

Thinking of revisiting the Highlander (need to level up timbys first!)

Out of almost all IS medium mechs I've played so far, my first medium is still my dearest, the venerable Hunchback 4G. There's something just right about its agility, speed, the way it glides through terrain, and its firepower. Shadowhawks do not come even close.

I've returned to grind through Saber mechs just in time for SRM fixes. Wolverine 6R and 7K were very good and now I've started to work on Griffins. Not sure if I will like them more than Wolverines but I have only unlocked basic proficiencies on one of them, so it's way too early to tell.

Bishop like you I loved the Victor. But at the moment the most fun I am having is in my Timber Wolf setup like my Victors. But I also really have fun in the Griffin.

All those Mad Cot lovers i think i get sick.

Performance in MWO didn't matter for me:

For the Clans - Summoner / Thor / Nemesis - always my most loved ClanMech - simple it looked like the Thunderbolt.
So you may guess wich is my favorite IS Mech.

Although for MWO the CN9 - especially the CN9-AH will always keep a special place.
and for pure grim determination the Stalker

Current IS Tech - Orions (all of them), DRG-5N (Non-Champion, the Champ one sucks)

Clan Tech - TimberWolf/MadCat, Always liked the thing. It just looks good to me I guess.

My favorite mech is most likely the death's knell. I just love the speed of that thing. Yes, if you get shot your armor is probably already red but with 171 kph and the current PPC/AC meta you are extremely hard to hit. Most of the time I get ignored and can melt the backs open or just get a 20 dmg alpha on someone who happens to be around the corner. Most of the time I get around 400-500 dmg which is not bad considering that this light is not "meta".

Besides the Death's Knell I also love my Catapult K2 and my Hunchback 4P.

IS Hands down its Awesome Pretty Baby and 9M. Both brawlers, Pretty Baby is XL 395 88kph the speed is just great, 9M is more sensible 340STD and 75kph. They got lasers and SRMs what else do i need?
For Clans... probably StormCrow D with srm20 and LRM15 + artemis

I've had the most fun so far with my Kit Fox. ECM, a couple AMS, and some lasers make a good escort for the big mechs. As long as the big guys are drawing all the fire, I can provide a little extra firepower and plenty of missile protection.

Like Blue Hymn I am in love with the AWS-8Q. I swapped the heatsinks for doubles and the head mounted laser for a medium, and then strapped in the biggest engine that the remaining tonnage would allow. And I love it to death.
But is has to compete with my founders Atlas fitted for close combat. I swapped the LRM for an SRM6 and gave it double heat sinks. But that's it. Not a good mech to be caught in the open wih, but if I can sneak up on people, they're in for a nasty surprise.

I used to love my brawly VTR-9S as well. It's still not bad, but certainly not what it was.

Now? Timberwolf hands down. 2LL, 3MG and 4ASRM6 for pure monster alpha brawling goodness.

Also 2PPC with 4SRM6, something that lets me play a brawler when the matchmaker decides that I should fight Meta 4 mans all night. Yeah, it's a little jumpsnipey, but only until I can work my way in close.

I suppose the summoner gets an honorable mention for being my favorite mech in battletech... but it's more a source of frustration for me in MWO.
