So our fall damage is now given in ft/s...

Why? everything in this game is metric, speed, distance, weight. Why not m/s?

All I can say is... gg Light legs.

It's amazing how the damage formula does favor Lights like it does Assaults, except not. The best part is that they simply don't have comparable leg armor.

I would agree. It should be in metric.

The placement of the Vertical Speed Indicator should also be next to the jump jet fuel gauge, to the left of the radar display, not the upper right of your HUD.

How much damage is determined by it's fall velocity and the weight class of the falling 'Mech.
Light 'Mechs = (Internal Structure Health * 1.9) * 0.04
Medium 'Mechs = (Internal Structure Health * 1.9) * 0.03
Heavy 'Mechs = (Internal Structure Health * 1.9) * 0.035
Assault 'Mechs = (Internal Structure Health * 1.9) * 0.04

They use feet as the metric in the patch notes. No idea if it even says that in game. Maybe and if it does just ask them to change it to meters because 30 feet is pretty much 10 meters. No need to whine and moan about it.

most of the playerbase is american and we fear the metric system?

to be honest as an american i could care less all i need to know is falling = OW! i cant really tell how far is 10 meters or 30 feet in the game anyways i just know that this height seems like high enough to cause pain.

It should be m/s sure. But I don't think it actually matters. I understand both systems just fine, while one makes more sense the other is more familiar. Most Americans understand metric and imperial. Hell, we mostly used metric in highschool and that was 11 years ago. And the end of the day just don't hit the ground with that thing showing +30ft/s

Maybe it's an OCD thing. I guess I get that, it just doesn't bug me.

I didn't whine and moan. I just asked.

Leg damage before was not 1=1 with all the mechs. It actually used to damage lights MORE than assaults. Bigger mechs used to flat out ignore the issue and just go ahead and damage their legs in falls because it was so minimal.

Now they all take damage based on their weight, so an assault mech can leg itself just as fast as a light mech was doing before.

I like the part where the formula relies on the amount of internal structure, but then applies damage to the armor.

Great. But sometimes it's not. So a link or any indication where he's getting his information would help.
