Kind of hard to compare a mech you have to pay to ones you get with Cbills..I dont even count clan mechs as options until they are able to be used with Cbills.

I'm not interested in Clan mechs, especially since they're only available via MC.

I owned the KTO-20, didn't like it. It dies to quickly, the hitboxes aren't the best. The low slung arms are bad for shooting over ridges, so you have to expose a lot of your (for a 55ton mech) huge body. Also, if the arm is gone, it's gone.

The Shadowhawk would be ok, if it had at least one Energy slot in each arm, better make it two. Seven energy hardpoint, well distributed between locations sound more like something I'd like. But since it has only 3 in one ST, I'm not interested.

So, like I said, no interesting/good 55ton energy Mech. At least none for me. :(

Yeah, but the SCR is only ONE of the three he mentioned.

Have you considered the Shadowhawk 2D2? I have my 2D2 set up with dual PPCs and SSRMs... and it works very well (for me).

Sounds more like the Hunchback 4P would be more up your ally if you like the lazars (Lasers). Or even the 4SP, with 2 energy on each arm...

Yes, I run/ran the same loadout, just with large lasers instead of PPC and a STD engine because I like mechs, that get shredded to pieces until they die. ^_^ If I'd go with an XL-Engine, I guess it would more like this Sadly, the latest SSRM nerf...

I own and love both of them...that'S why I basically want a 55 ton version of them.

But still, thank you for your suggestions, very kind of you.

I used to feel like the OP but have come to like them, especially the 2H.
2AC5's and an AC2, XL235 (extra ton of ammo) and a mL can be a beast.

I like the the left torso mounted HP's allow you to peek around and over objects.
Very accurate shooter and JJ's allow it to get into positions you can't without them.

And the Griffins. Heck, the WVR-6K has 5 energy hardpoints, too.

Griffs are missle boats and the obvious issues with the 6k..

Yeah, 5 Energy hardpoints...and 4 of them are located in a big arm that's easy to kill. Afterwards, you'Re stuck with one ML in the head and one(!) missile weapon in the Torso... Even the Hunchback laughs about this...

WVR-6K

That's running with max armor.

You can even remove the PPC, strap an LL, and add 2 more DHS, for even better cooling. (The cooling as it stands right now, is 95% for firing the medium lasers in the arm only, 71% for firing the arm and head at the same time, 114% for firing the PPC by itself, and 44% for a full alpha)

EDIT: Also, please torso twist a lot.

The GRF-1S has 4 energy hardpoints which is sufficient for an energy-centric build.

So what if the energy are in the arm? As IraqiWalker pointed out: torso twist and use your shield side to absorb damage.

You don't have to tell me to torso twist. The Hunchbacks Hunch is usually the last thing I lose. But at least the Hunch is fairly high mounted. I still dont like neither the Griffin nor the Wolverine. The arms are just such juicy targets and die much quicker then the ST.

I don't wont to buy the Corolla, Mr. Salesman, because I simply don't like the car and it doesn't fit my needs. :P

The Griffins have jump jets. That makes high-mounted hardpoints less critical. Especially with their agility. SHDs get high-mounted hardpoints because their movement is so restricted.

because the lack high mounted weapons and lop sided hard points equals mediocre mechs in MWO..
