I'm sorry, but a Scrub, would not be hitting you at 1,700 Meters. Because a scrub can't play the game well at all. Just sayin.

Not at all... Though I might be good enough to hit at that range if I had Clan weapons. The point is calling someone names for hitting you at that range is a bit petty.

So, you stared at him for more than second?
Exactly how many lasers came down on you? There is ghost heat after 2, though you can safely manage 4 for the short term.
It takes over a second to even match the same damage as the same amount of IS LLs.

8 larges overheats a DWF immediately AND has a 1.5 sec burn time so if you got melted that fast something is wrong.

Now I am virtually the only one without a clanmech. I still get creamed away in every match and shot in the face very hard and the clan machines lead the score really high.
So we have change to Pay to Win now? Please explain how this contrebutes to the ALREADY very bad machtmaking / balancing in this game.
Regards
Lorgarn
As someone who beta tested this game from the start, I became quickly disgusted in how this game has turned into a purchase based economy(cash grab).
They went back on most to all of their moral principles and established ideas as soon as they realized they could make more money, and these ppl (by these "ppl" I mean most of this forum) indulged Piranha games and their greed and gave them 120$ to 40$ for intro Mechs/skins, (think about that for a bit, "paying to play a game thats not done, and will give zero credit for you for paying early and waiting out/helping development" THATS CRAZY)
Now there's this HUGE cash cow page called the Clan pack that is unabashed of the shameful business practices its selling, to get your money and show you this shiney "new mech" with "new specs" you haven't "seen" yet! BUT HEY its ALSO got pretty COLORS!, and good for that, and for the forums community, cause thats exactly what this community deserves, to continue to be asked for money for new shiney ****, thats actually just recycled mechwarrior lore, that will cost for outrageuos amounts of cash.
Good luck with the game

Damm that's some nice accuracy since when i use CLarge laser on tht distance i have to keep that target for the whole burst time. I tried that build and it's not a big deal unless you know how to use it.

actually they just focused most of their resources on CW and maps. If people want to spend THEIR money it's not your problem. It's been now 2 years since this thing started .....just stop crying over spilled milk pls. Everyone knows that forums are damm toxic and the only reliable info you'll get is from people that play with you in comms.

However I have some suggestion:
-Lower internal health for weapons/structure or both.
-Put more cooldown on clan weapons.
-Make them harder to lose on Radar.
-FREAKING, lower the range of allllll weapons.
I know PGI is all about lore and "fidelity", but this game is killing it's player base, literately.
Mechwarrior as been aside the other games with it's principles but this Clan miss balance is so obvious it is hard to want to play your games.
I have faith in this company. I just want to enjoy this game properly.

I agree to an extent as MWO follows a F2P path that is a bit different from valve F2P titles like DOTA 2 or TF2 but honestly is less grindy to the even competition plateau than LOL or War Thunder. Once you buy and outfit 3 mechs and get them leveled to elite you are basically at the end of the Pay to skip the grind phase and that should only take a week or two if you focus on a medium or heavy chassis you like. At that point you can basically compete on even ground. The biggest thing is honestly the purchase of DHS and Endo steel and getting elite pilot skills.
I feel otherwise. From what I understood, I need every variant of one mech type, to get elite skills (not mentioning I have to get hangar spots for $$$ to do so), thus this is far from being more grindy than say, LoL, where I can get a champion and one rune set, which is enough to play the game.

It doesn't take a lot of skill to land a short with lasers, given the fact that they are hitscan.
I'm still skeptical that the get in question was firing eight large lasers at once, as I'm pretty sure that would blow up the mech shooting them.

Heavies are ok, they look and feel balanced. But those C-UAC5 boat assaults......they are the very definition of "Pay to Win" and "Overpowered". I've seen a lot of them melting everything they come across and winning battles almost single handedly
Let's just don't lie to ourseves, the "P2W" element is there, just not for every mech.

Timberwolves are meta, but Summoners not so much.
It's not Clan Mechs by default.

Just for the lulz I built that thing in smurfy's. DWF-PRIME 8 ER Large Lasers, 31 DHS, ignore the free tonnage.
Theorycrafting at normalized conditions (heat neutral map):
Without basics: This thing has a heat threshold of 73.40 and a dissipation of 4.94 hps. 8 ER Large Lasers would produce 155.47 heat including Ghost Heat penalty. He would have alpha'ed those ER Larges excactly once... right before he blew up. Maximum amount he can fire at once is 5 (66.22 heat).
With double basics: Heat threshold of 88.08, dissipation of 5.68 hps. Now he could risk firing 6 at once (90.02 heat). It'll shut him down, but just for a second.
Without Ghost heat tho, he could safely alpha them once without even shutting down (68 heat)!
Don't try do things like that in a TBR-S tho. You'll take 10% more damage from overheating!

I was actually probing Roland for his view on what "overpowered" means to him by quantifying it.
But since you claimed that the TW-S is "way overpowered", please show me how by presenting something along the lines of this, especially the last item. Something close to this is what it will take to convince me, and I am sure a few others, of your claim. But, you may restrict your analysis to only the TW-S vis-a-vis the IS mech collection, since you are only referring to that variant.
I would say it's over powered by the amount of weapons it can bring to the table. Not by anything else. And I still think the S variant should never have been included only because of giving the Summoner the jump jet flavor. Otherwise it dies just fine. I killed one in my little Kit Fox last night. They legged me and was trying to get my other leg and I kept working both torsos till I got them. I had help from a LRM Wolverine who was using his two Medium Lasers as well.

Terrible way to put that; by this logic, either the Dire Wolf or the Nova would be more OP. Once again, it is the direct-fire hardpoints combined with speed and maneuverability, along with baller hitboxes, that make it OP.

I am of a different, if twisted, view. If the IS can have their poptarts, then the Clans can have theirs too ( ). The TW-S is definitely a force to be reckoned with. But it nowhere even close to invincible. So I am fine with having it in the game.
And with regard to the Summoner, I am a bit disappointed with it, especially in its very basic state. It just seems too sluggish. Getting it to elite helped. But, it probably just doesn't fit with my style I guess. I'll keep trying with it though.
