Huh?

Selecting the mech parts in the mechlab was NOT identical to the actual hitboxes in match.

Remember, the ST is only the "shoulder pads". The entire arm below the pads are still "Arm". And while the cockpit is large relative to the Commando's total head, it is a very small mech. It's realy about the same size to aim at.

The old head hitbox was significantly different. Not just smaller(about half the size), but an odd shape too: http://img15.hosting...09commando2.png

Same thing with the ST hitboxes. They weren't so vast before. This is a light mech we're talking about - in fact, the smallest light mech of all until the Locust was brought into the game. Big STs are a coffin for lights, since they virtually demand XL engines.

Of course, my favorite Commando build was a standard-engine tanker (yes, a light 'mech tank, which worked surprisingly well) so this wouldn't affect that build. But that build is an outlier.

I do not understand why they removed the hitbox locations, it is imporatnt to know where to shoot - it is a part of the knowledge! I hope they bring this back!!!

The display in the previous mechlab did not conform to actual mech hitboxes. This information was not removed from the client, it was never there in the first place.

Puskin, the hitbox locations were never shown anywhere officially before. Therefore, the information was not removed. It never existed to begin with (you can't remove something that doesn't exist). The only place this information ever appeared was another thread where someone painstakingly went through this same process in mapping it out and drawing it.

Hope that clears it up.

No you are wrong! It starts at 2:28
If you selected specific part of Mech that part was highlighted. In new mechlab we do not have this so i have no idea where are locations of new Mechs hitboxes.

Those actually were NOT the real hitboxes (but they are close)! I thought they were too and was told I was wrong.

EDIT: Sorry I don't have a source to point you to.

Found it. It's in the first post of the old hitbox thread
http://mwomercs.com/...x-localisation/

Edit 2: Actually that first post is contradictory because at first it says that information WAS right, then it says it was NOT right. I believe the first part before the line was edited at a later date. There must just be some debate over how accurate the old UI was. I thought a dev said it wasn't once, but have no idea where to find such a source anymore.

In either case, we should definitely have the ability to see hitboxes without having to map it ourselves.

The game is free. I have no problem with the community needing to dive in and figure out some details. So long as we share.

I would agree, but a massive chunk of the community doesn't frequent the forums.

Ask the admins to pin it. If they get enough requests from people, it gets pinned.

Clan Heavies and Assaults complete. Clan complete.

With yesterday's Test Server populated with Clan mechs, the last few went very fast.

"But what about the Vindicator?" (or any new mech). I will wait until they are availabe for CBills before posting.

Enjoy the hitbox mapping, and see you on the battlefield.
