at least it's very skinny.... poor bloody Nova is like the love child of a Stalker and an Awesome.

And it's fast, with good hitboxes including shield arms (that aren't too shieldy like the Nova...). I think it might actually be overpowered if not scaled like "55 ton mech size" hehe.

The others, though, like the Trebbie...don't really care for Russ' scaling opinions.

it is weird...those shoulders are HUGE on it, but the don't get me hit as much as I would have thought.

indeed the fear.

Though Russ will assure us it's proper "Medium MEch Size"

Which in the Russ-verse appears to mean taller than Heavies.

Hell knowing Russ it'll probably look bigger than a Victor.

Nonsense! It will be as big as the "old" trebuchet just like all other the mediums!

never sure why people started using the upper radar dome as the cockpit, but probably for the same reason some artists removed the righthand form the Hatchetman, too many people are not good at actually discerning details in pictures.

To be fair, the 3050U Assassin does look good. But you are right that it would give you almost no visibility of the ground.

As fort the Hatchetman, here's the original TRO3025 art:

You can't really tell if it has a right hand at all. Furthermore, the original text for the Hatchetman stated that the Hatchet was just a pair of heatsinks with a medium laser sandwiched between them. Rules for dedicated hatchets didn't exist yet.

Let me make this clear... PGI will NOT be making any new IS mechs until AFTER all Clan mechs are out for C-Bills AND CW is fully released.

I can tell looking at it, if it didn't have a hand, it would be done at the wrist, not from the elbow, as that is clearly a forearm visible.

I want an Assassin now, because I like 'Mechs that look cool, and that one looks cool, and Bishop made it looker cooler. Therefore I shall buy one, regardless of whether it's effective.

The Assassin: A Case For Why We Should Want It......

Its like a Inner-sphere Summoner with like +50% targeting range buff that stacks with bap and target range mods. Oh I wasn't suppose to tell you about the Summoner quirks that are missing. :D

the Current customization/mechlab invalidate the Panther and Wolfhound before they are ever introduced. Neither Can do anything the Firestarter doesn't do better. MUCH better.

This makes me sad.... Wish PGI would bring them in so I can say "challenge accepted". I want my Woflhound! And my panther, urbanmech, vindicator, hatchetman, axman, flea, thorn, mercury, assassin, sentinel, crab, enforcer, dervish, champion, grand dragon, exterminator, guillotine, black knight, flashman, charger, hatamoto-chi, thug, ZEUS, cyclops, mauler, king crab, fire moth, mist lynx, viper, ice ferret, mad dog, hellbringer, gargoyle, executioner, and elementals as a clan consumable. ;)

Would much rather have the Hermes II over the Assassin.

... though a Wolfhound would be nice too. I always remember it from the cartoon, for some reason. ;)

Yeah - why would anyone assume that it doesn't have a hand, in stead of thinking that the right arm isn't just pushed back into the same (rather odd) position as the left arm (with the right hand being hidden behind the right hip joint)? ;)

Is a bit of a fugly looking thing in these pics, terrible paint job and thank god thats not the cockpit

Much better

Give me this please.

I too would feel the game would be more evenly paced and less stomps if there were more mediums on the field, this way you cant expect too many one shot kills.

As a class, Mediums are entirely too top heavy. We need more 40-45 tonners, IS and Clan.
There are 3 timeline variants (ASN-21, 23, 101). 101 was in extremely limited numbers (as Strum will likely excoriate me over) but limited availability has not really stopped PGI yet (HGN was not exactly common, in any form, and outside of Comstar and the Clans the 732 was extinct)

Would not! ;)

"The [ASN-101] was considered unsuccessful, with only three being retained on the official AFFS roster in the Capellan March Milicia. Unofficially, however, rumors persisted for years that Prince Hanse Davion had a secret facility built near Panpour where work included the construction of the ASN-101 design. Circumstantial evidence bears this out as several CMM wargames had more than a few of these designs present, but official TO&Es never listed them." - TRO 3039, pg. 116

So, yeah... the AFFS totally doesn't have a secret stash of ASN-101s that have been under construction at a secret facility since 3039... *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* :(

@Bishop I like your ideas and agree with you the Assassin would be nice to include. But I would like to see the Vulcan more than the Assassin TBH. And the good thing is that the Vulcan 5S has MASC and can be included in later when they work out the details with using MASC.

VT-2T
VT-5T
VT-5M

Would be the three and the 5S later on. For a Hero mech this would need a made up one.

Visually, it's probably my favorite Medium.

But I think a fast missileer, at 40 tons is probably more practical than a slightly slower ballistic mech (though if they give me like a 4 ballistic arm, I'm ALL for it).

Do want! Fast jumping medium with a slimmer frontal profile but to offset it has a little larger side profile.
