I'd much rather see a base with an obscene amount of hit points that we have to destroy instead of capturing. This puts a cap on how quickly it can be taken by lights, as most simply don't have the damage capability to take down something with a lot of hit points very quickly - at least, not before reinforcements arrive. Instead, this gives a reason to have to have heavies and assaults push towards the base so they can lay down extra fire on whatever-it-is that needs obliterating.

But it is what it is. Unfortunately.

As long as you have people shoveling cash into buying new 'Mechs to play on old maps, they'll make 'Mechs. They're more profitable than a new map.

+1 to this. If PGI can not squeeze a dime out of it they back burner it. 5 more cockpit items coming up with this patch. And a war horn. Oh you wanted maps?

Because it's fake. The numbers are made up. It's their halfassed attempt to 'communicate better with the community' in which they are failing.

It's so obvious its fake because CW is 71% done........more like 25% we don't even have module one yet ffs.

The plan covers 71% of the napkin it's scrawled on.

Sadly this is true, people just need to boycot the spending a bit, maybe that will open PGI's eyes to see things other than $$..

Not that it will happen but.... o well..

The CW is going to be one big fat troll-fest.

I sadly think CW will not save MWO.

What will? that's a good question and in the fans of the players. PGI do not have a clue.

I'd like to see multi-staged events that are required to capture the base; like first you have to take out the communication array (no more airstrikes for a period of time), then take out the Energy Pilons to take down base defenses, etc. (have more than one so forces may have to split).

If in this game mode, all the mechs die, the other team still has to achieve the objective in the time remaining, that way, if they do not, it is a tie (or, under these types of maps, the implement that drop ship mode and allow for redeployments until the objectives are met - no timer); or something that allows for dynamic game play. A reason to unblob.

Get the community involved! win win!!!
I mean it would be a unique move for an online game, there would be an instant modlike community for mwo.
The best maps can be posted online and the community gets to vote which one is the best.
Saves money AND keeps the community busy and happy.

we could even create assets, the sky is the limit just look at ARMAholic, working with the community can really pay off in a big way.
It's not like there is a profitmodel for maps or anything (is there?)

and I have to say, much like the animations of the later and especially the clan mechs are of inferior quality, so are the above maps with the exception of tourmaline and manifold up to a point. Lazy, just lazy half arsed, sorry but...

Battlefield runs modes like that. They are an absolute blast!

One attacks one defends, you have "checkpoints" that you're fighting to. When the attacker makes the objective at that checkpoint, they "advance" to next section of map (keep in mind maps in BF are MUCH larger than here, imagine that, a game with foot soldiers on bigger maps.... anyhow) and to the next objective.

Then once the attacking team has had it's chance, the roles are flipped and the other team gets a shot at attacking. it's quite fun and offers a lot more depth that you would think from such a simple feature.

Its good to have a dream in life... Just not any having to do with this games progression.

The whole concept of assault mode is currently broken badly. We need more of a reason to capture anything, in fact i would hazard to say the mode is completely unfinished to be honest. If we are to capture something make it worthwhile and more interesting than a dumb little tracked vehichle or an oil well ffs. Build us actual bases to capture, parts/weapon depots to capture. You know walled fortresses we need to breach to gain access to the interior. The idea of capturing a green line outlining an oil well is laughable at best.

PGI has limited imaginations, lazy or not interested in putting forth a product worthy of the Mechwarrior namesake. Personally I am pretty disgusted with how things havwe and or are progressing in regards to game content. My wallet has been closed since I bought the lackluster Phoenix reinforcements and it will continue to remain closed until PGI delivers on promises... :(

Regards

PGI you are focusing on all the wrong things! New module system? MC GRAB! New cockpit items? MC GRAB!

Without a decent connection, ie LAG free gaming, you don't have a game.
Without new content (maps, game-modes, destructable items, modules that matter, etc.) you don't have a game.
Without good customer-relations, you DON'T HAVE A GAME!

What you do have is a game that is in its' death throes. The beginning of a downward spiral where with every stale patch (this last one being the most unexciting patch yet), you lose more customers.

There is alot of competition out there PGI, I've never been more tempted to leave until now. I just reinstalled STEAM and seeing what's out there. You are treading on thin waters and it's a shame because this game had such potential.

It's time you made the hard decisions and let some people go for more productive employees. The rate of progress in this game just sad and pathetic.

Twilight on Alpine with a little haze, but not much. Bright enough you don't need Night Vision, but subdued enough that the weapons cast light on the ground and mechs. That would be an easy new map. Could be done in a day. Original Forest Colony is just laying around, call it Sunny Forest Colony, I liked it better than the current rainy Forest Colony.

We should be a month or less from the new Industrial Zone map too. I think a Mech Factory map needs Dropships and a spacport of some type as well as mech construction bays.

Most of their competition (not even really competition, just similar style games) don't even put out "content" like this community wants and has as only 2-4 game modes. They also put out new sales far more often than new content just like here.
