Aye same here, as I do not want to waste my time playing as an IS target for clan mechs to give a free kicking to.
Utterly unbalanced atm, so why bother inflicting this experiment on anything other than a dedicated test server ?

Probably not more than a few hours.

Quick tip, though: IS vs Clans is only in the PUG queue. If you group up with someone you won't get IS vs Clan matches in the group queue.

Edit: Since the two posters above me are both Kurita (and both seem relatively new?), maybe they should group up together :(

Incompetance? Sheer malignence before the inevitable nerf that will come with each mech as it becomes available for cbills? I don't know.

And thanks for the reply DEMAX51. I'll log back on tomorrow or something, as for group queue - I dont have any friends.
It's sure gonna be fun for new players. Anyway I got my answer, thanks.

The IS vs Clan test is an excellent opportunity for IS pilots to get Elostomped back into the n00b bracket.

Here is a wonderful thought: Science.

How the hell do you expect PGI to get actual Metrics on Clan versus Inner sphere... if the Inner Sphere does not show up?

Your whining is, in the end, worth about as much as it is: A few pixels one of trillions of web pages.

Oh, sorry. I was under the delusion that I'm a customer of PGI, not an employee.

As a customer of any online game, you should expect to do some testing for them, even if you are unaware that you are.

Yea because a pen and paper game with die rolls is directly relate-able to a FPS game.

Pretty close if PGI had coded in the point system for every mech. It would translate perfectly. That would also give people a tool for only a certain amount of Battle Value alongside 3v3v3v3 instead of being stuck with only that drop limitation. The machines and equipment are essentially the same. Same with 12VS10 as a handicap for Clans. Each method would translate fine.

No... sorry, firing once every 10 seconds does not translate well into an fps. There are some games that pull it off yes, but it really does not work here.

The internet is becoming full of companies that see their customers as nothing more then lab rats that crap cash. Just be thankful that this test is fairly benign.

Did I say to translate the rules set into the game? Pretty sure I didn't. The mechs were balanced in the board game with a Battle Value. You design your lances with that restriction in mind, set before the game.

That way if you decide to field an Atlas with less tonnage, your BV is less and it gives players more options to shift weight around if you desired, instead of simply 3v3v3v3.

Clan mechs have a higher BV. The system balances itself without any complicated new feature they could ever think of.

Its funny how people think this is about collecting data, they already ran this test with predictable results.
Common sense would dictate that after the first test, teams would have been amended to 10 v 12, that would be collecting viable data.
This is nothing more than a couple of hours of easy mode for those who spent money on clans and a middle finger to those that didn't.
"Look your getting stomped by the new toys, better go buy some quick"

Great way to further alienate a portion of your (potential)customers.

You change just one rule, you have to change more and more. The point system would not work here (it barely works in the TT). Here mechs point values would literally change from patch to patch and as the meta changes. It becomes too complicated and upkeep needed makes it more of a pain than a good solution.

If it is easy mode for people with clan mechs why does the IS win at all? Why are there people that play IS that have success during these tests?

FYI many people have asked for Clan vs IS.

Also why not bring a meta mech PPC/Gauss/AC and lay hell to the clanners?

Dual AC20

Dual Gauss

LRM boats really help as well if you have a fast ECM IS mech.

Posturing. All posturing from the forums usual suspects. Yes you are wonderful, now please go roll an IS mech and post screens of the EOM screens. And don't be selective.
