It nerfs it's usefulness well below the CLPL. Hell, for the value you might be better off just slapping in CERML all over the place. It's just too much of an overnerf without any need or testing.

The PPC change and the C-ERLL change are being done it sounds like due to some mechs that boat them, or mix them with other high dmg weapons...
You seem to be forgetting about the effects on mechs that carry one or two of these weapons as their only weapons, or primary weapons... this is going to effect medium and light mechs using these weapons (which I doubt were an issue) much more then the big mechs that your trying to fix I think...

We just got 3PVd people.
You can forget feedback I guess. Hey paul? I take back everything I said about pgi listening. You just ignored your entire community

Then PPC are now half as fast. Hmm, warhawks just became alot less effective.

2nd one - THE ERLL - here you hit so many stock configs :
Timber Wolf - prime config and Alt.C config
Stormcrow - prime config
Dire Wolf - Prime config
Warhawk - Alt.A config
Summoner - Alt.D config
Among the stock configs with that nerf you put on the ground both clan light mechs - too slow to be close combat and not enough energy hard points to be competition to Firestarters and Jenners .
I don't want to criticize , but in that case you dropped the ball really hard .

Everyone else = MWO player base
My response
If reason will not win the day let us see if a bit of Meme thread will get the point across that these changes are not in the best interest of PGI or the player base.
PGI - We're gonna patch it
I hope reason and a wish to not break many stock clan mech builds makes them blink but by the sounds of it they have already pulled the trigger on these changes. But we know what they did to the Hunchback 4P and Awesome 8Q with ghost heat so I fear these changes will be here to stay and I for one do not believe they will be an improvement to game play.

On top of that, the CER LL was ABSOLUTELY FINE and DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED. Just like the AC2. This sucks.

I know I'm probably in the minority with that opinion, but I think they are one of the strongest weapons in the IS arsenal behind PPC and Gauss. Once the IS PPC nerfs come into place, it was going to be the go-to weapon for a lot of competitive players. In fact as we speak there are teams that use them over PPCs.
For the record I use ER LL in most of my IS builds (PUG and competitive leagues) because I think they are so strong. So I am advocating a nerf to my own bread and butter.
I'd look at this more of a pre-emptive nerf to keep PPCs from becoming irrelevant. I think they went too far, but I stand by the idea that a nerf to the ER LL is logical if they are nerfing the PPC.
One final note, I think the IS ER LL overshadows the normal Large Laser too much at the moment. I really don't see a point bringing LL unless you're already running an energy boat. I'd like to see a little more separation in that regard.

You've got a few days left to try and toe the old line, have fun with it.
??? I don't get it. ???
Especially because I have yet to see any good "analysis" worthy of the word.

ER LL at long range was a great way to spray damage all over an enemy 'mech, unless they stood and face tanked it. While I generally don't think "do the twist" is an adequate answer weapon balancing in most cases, for the C/ERLL it definitely was a case of doing it wrong if it became a problem outside the range where normal LL's are dangerous.
2 seconds of exposure is suicide, and on top of that, you can't even fire 2 at once without burning up. Ridiculous.

The feed back from the devs will include a side note about how they "increased the effectiveness of the LPL" due to changing the duration of the CLL up to 2s....instead of actually doing anything about the LPL...lol.

Nerfs that harm smaller mechs or mechs that dont boat thanks to all the assaults that boat like 4+ of a weapons system is the expected trend around here sadly.
PPCs got it, the now pointless AC2... now just using 2 clan ER Large Lasers is punishable...

Outside of the Dire Wolf, boating ballistics was not a realistic option. That left us with ERPPC, which require a significant cost in heat sinks to turn into primary weapon systems, Gauss, and ERLLas on the rest of the mechs, with ERMLas, being medium lasers, being liberally scattered across all the mechs. This was the only way to fight mechs at range.
You could build a brawler mech, but not only is it crippled on open maps, but Clan mech hit boxes, outside of the Summoner, Stormcrow, and Warhawk, are kinda terrible for protecting the important bits, which is only made more apparent in a brawl.
So, how should we adapt? ERMlas only mechs? Semi-effective LRM platforms that are rendered useless by standing behind a rock? Adaption is fine if we had the tools for it. Our toolbox was limited before, and now is being rendered even more limited. Fantastic.
At least there is one upside: Now C-LPLas are worth it.
