This 'mech is DOA, plain and simple. Here are my stats, as compared to the Blackjacks (same tonnage) and Griffins (similar hardpoints). There's obviously a problem here.
While i can't remember having bad matches like im havin right now in my Vindicator where doing above 150damage is a challenge... There was this guy called Trahibator that did 600+damage and 5 kills in my last match. I guess that means i dont know how to play it yet and he does. And until i get the X2 from the elite i wont to ***** about it.

I normally assume about a 15% increase in damage from bone stock to double basic. The fact that I was doing 600 damage in a non-basic Locust earlier today, and I'm struggling to hit 200 in this tells me that something is wrong.

Well yeah, people have been saying that would be the case since it became a rumor.

Oh i get it, you expected to do better or at least expected the others to think you would do better with the mech so you blame it. You could try blaming Elo if you play solo queue.

Want a 45 tonner jumping energy boat or ballistics platform? You got the Blackjack for that. Want a SRM brawler or LRM throwing medium? You got the SHD and GRF for that.
VND needed something like 4B/4E with minimum 275 engine cap (giant Ember) or 3M/3E hardpoints (mini SHD/GRF)to content with the current viable mediums
The SIB Hero is the best variant of all because it can at least do this

The game really needs a "return to stock" button in mechlab and a stockonly game start for pub.

Its a call out to Michael Jones, the pilot who used it in Battle Tech and the actual stock Mech from Technical Readout 3025 and 3039.

Same as the official produced "SIC"

Also, PGI may as well add in Minor Factions as selectable, including St. Ives.
This I like. Makes me think you love your roots, MWO.

Yes, I see the problem. You've been playing this mech for a few hours. I would expect you to have a somewhat bad record starting out.

It's a proper lore mech, and it's a 3025 mech to be specific, back when XLs and DHS were extinct.
I guarantee you right now, that the forums would be ablaze if PGI released a canon mech, and then borked it's construction.
YLW came with SHS as well, along with the Ilya. It's not the first Hero mech that doesn't have full customization.
The Ember came with a STD 210 engine. Death's knell had a STD 175 in it. Oxide STD 235.
Arrow STD 235. Orion has STD 300. Basically I can go down the list of hero mechs and the majority of them wouldn't have most upgrades.
The hero mechs are mostly added flavor, and are usually based off unique customized variants that existed in lore. They're not supposed to be pimped out to the extreme. Especially considering when the mech they are based on was made.

Canon? After some of the crap they've released? lol that's funny... but fair enough. I honestly didn't realize it's an actual Canon mech I mean after crap like war horns and gold plated clan mech packs I figure we're beyond holding to battletech at this point, cause honestly other then perhaps clan novacat I can't see ANY clanners running in gaudy flashy mechs that blast dubstep everytime they kill another mech... but that's just me. And I do know that the "protector" was supposed to be Kerenskys Orion but who here thinks a famous hard nose general who basically kicked butt and took names would run around in a bright orange mech with gold accents?
But yeah tons of other hero mechs came pretty stock to without any upgrades to. I have several and looking back it was kinda silly then to... side note Arrow doesn't need them if you boat Mguns, and a 300 std is a decent engine for the Orion, The stupid commando though I have one of those and it was pretty fun spending MC on a mech that I had to spend another couple million cbills on just to make it useable.
Just sayin'...

“I remember the day I first met Blue: Dad was piloting her, laughing at me over how awe-struck I was.
I was blinded by the light of our sun as it reflected off the silver trumpet on Blue’s chest. That reflection soon became a source fierce pride as I was told of the herald of St. Ives being known across the Confederation and beyond, and I was told that she would be mine.
At that moment, I made a promise to my father that if I ever got to pilot Blue: I would only ever use her to protect the innocent and to defend St. Ives: And now I must decide if I will keep that promise… If I will keep my pride…”

Only 7 games but can't play anymore right now. K/D is 1.20 so far. Been some bad matches, but I didn't feel inferior and I think I have pretty good sense of whether I like a chassis or not. It is a little slow, and maybe once I get 25-50 matches I will feel different. I want to run a PPC focused build on Elite.
This is what I started out with.
