You check it under your stats.

I know that I can do both, but I like to complete things and with such a short window that seems unlikely if I also play groups. I just don't care for a system that penalizes you for playing with friends, nor do I care for a system that creates unneeded rage from arm chair generals that don't get their way or can't comprehend their strat sucked.

Pug queue is all about the individual sadly because that's the only person you know and will perform...

that's what happens when people decide to go all rambo in a team based game though. I've been on plenty of PUGs where we coordinated and used teamwork quite well and effectively. I've also been on teams where it seemed like we were lucky if 90% of our team could pick their noses without injuring themselves, much less win a match lol

those are issues with MM, Elo, etc. though, not the event.

I agree 100% but this IS a step in the right direction in my opinion. We FINALLY got an event that wasn't focused on individual play and kills.

I might agree that this was focused on team play if there were not so many people dc farming, or running into a fight getting killed and moving on to the next just to get as many games in as they can. It is really frustrating. I could report them all, but at the rate I have been seeing them I would probably end up spending more time doing that then playing. By the end of this weekend I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of stressed out people instead of happy participants.

That's not PGI or the event's "fault" though. That's players being dabgs. Players suicide for cbills as well, just report them. It will catch up to them

Cause the banking system is not really good.

A nice feature would be the chance to stop the timer after a certain period of time, like 7 days, so you can schedule your bonus time with your life needs.

Yeah, its the players being dbags, but that is kind of my point. This type of challenge practically encourages this kind of behaviour and brings it out in mass. I shouldn't have to spend time after every match reporting people, nor do I want to put up with the crappy attitudes from players that blame everything on everyone else when they lose. I just want to play(preferably with friends) without all the extra drama caused by challenge conditions that makes being a dbag the more effiecient way to succeed.

it's not set up like that because it would be too easy to abuse. Players could buy a month's worht of premium time and (if they only play once in a while) that could easily stretch out to 6+ months worth of premium time if they could stop it any time they wanted.

I always thought the best compromise was a stop button that could be used like twice a month. That allows players to not lose premium time if something comes up and they can't play but prevents them from just starting and stopping in between every match or every other day, etc.

Or having the possibility of activating 30 days at a time, simulating a subscription plan like many online games.

This games players kill me sometimes. When they get what they want they complain more than if left alone. I for one play both with a team when i want to and as a pug when i just want to make some $$. So this is right up my alley!! I get to do BOTH!! LOL queue up all the hero mechs and prime variants, this is gonna be a fun a$$ weekend!!! :angry:

All these solo challenges really try to subvert the entire purpose of TEAM gameplay.

The main reason I can think of to NOT allow groups is the possibility of collusion to facilitate everyone reaching the goal as quickly as possible.

With 24 separate people randomly distributed into matches ... the odds of getting a lot of buddies onto your team who would be willing to fix the match to get it over with quicker are very small since some of the folks on your team will want to play to win.

Consider folks making teams of 12 man each ... not so many groups in that queue ... they sync drop against other sets of 12 mans who have an agreement to allow a particular team to win. The best choice would be assault. One team base rushes while the other just hangs out. Game over in less than 2 minutes. Rinse and repeat.

What about smaller groups? Well these groups could make a agreement about which side will win and then contribute some friendly fire. Maybe not enough to kill team mates but maybe enough to take off armor/arms/legs here and there in order to give the team that is supposed to win the advantage. This might be accomplished through sync dropping so that connected groups end up on each side of the match. In fact, if the match was limited to assault - the group on one team would only need to base rush convincing the rest to go along ... while the group on the other team wandered off taking the rest of their side with them.

Some of these may seem far-fetched but some folks would go to extreme lengths to obtain the goods from the challenge while minimizing the effort/time/grind required ... and this is all much more easily done if the challenges are open to groups.

Got the 20 victories in 30 games after being stuck at 18 for 4-5 games. Could have been *much* worse seeing some teams out there, yikes.

To hell with the 50 victories tho. 6.5mil is a crappy reward for all the games you are required to play.

6.5 million Cbills sells for 4000MC which is about US $20.00 ... I think the challenge needs to be challenging (which it is) if they are offering the opportunity to every player to earn the equivalent of 5550MC or US$25.00 in one weekend.

On the other hand, in a hero mech I probably average about 80 to 100k/match ... which means that I would earn about 6.5 million cbills in 65 matches. Given an average 1:1 W/L ratio ... 50 wins will take about 100 matches which should earn about 10 million ... so the 6.5 mill bonus is something like having premium time assigned only for cbills while you grind out the 50 wins.

So, I've been encountering problems with this challenge, namely, suiciders. That said, instead of going for variety or using new mechs, which left me with woeful failure, I'm sticking with what I know, and its working out well enough, putting me over 1.00 W/L when I do.

Rewards with premium time and c-bills? NOW they have my attention. FINALLY something worth fighting for, rather than (well, in addition to, I suppose) yet another empty mechbay.
