After 38 matches for 20 wins, I've arrived at the Avenue of Apathy and am struggling up the Gradient of GiveaFuck.
The horror.
The horror.

A suggestion for future challenges: reduce the number of wins required but include a challenge penalty that is triggered if you drag your pug down (perform bottom 20%).
This change can make these a little more fun for most everyone.

Grayson here.
First, I just wanted to say thank you for a much more reasonable challenge, it was so much better than the kill challenge! Second, you're so close to coming up with really great challenges! I understand that it is very difficult to predict the behavior of your player base, so let me give you a report:
I observed on Friday and Saturday that people were communicating a lot more about how to win and what strategy to use, sure there were a lot of silent players attempting to just slug it out against the world. At this point there were a few newbies in assault 'mechs attempting to use their lighter teammates as meat shields instead of... you know, assaulting. I got my first 10 wins on Friday after I got off work so I figured this was going to be an okay weekend!
Saturday: I attempt to sync drop with a few friends to see if we can get some kind of advantage. Most of the time they ended up on the other team, but that was fine by us. We had a lot of fun trying to search each other out and kill each other! I did notice that other players who sync dropped and ended up on opposite teams would TK or leg most of their own team, or just rush over to the enemy base and let their friends kill them... I have no idea why they wouldn't just play the game against each other, since that's what multiplayer games used to be about! I also observed that there has been an increase in the number of people who join and then DC on purpose, which sucks because I have not seen this behavior in a long time.
Sunday: Everything has gone to hell, teams no longer communicate, I see at least 1 TK in each match, people are yelling at each other about "going full ******", "worthless idiots", etc. I had one match where the enemy was flanking us hard with most of their team, so I (and one other person) were shouting at the top of our lungs (all caps) that the enemy was flanking from G9 or whatever. My teammate and I attempted to slow down their flank, but our entire team ignored what was happening while they attempted to snipe a Jenner that was running around in front of them. Perhaps this is a left-over mindset from the kill streak challenge? Needless to say we lost as people were still attempting to get kills for some reason.
I've reached the point that if I notice my team not working together and they are getting picked off 1 by 1, usually as they attempt to be the best sniper, then I will "go full ******" and rush the enemy base in an attempt to capture it. I know I'm not really helping the overall situation, since it has only helped my team win once, but I don't really care anymore.
You are so close to coming up with a tiered challenge system that encourages teamwork, don't give up! Maybe the player-base can come up with more suggestions, like target lock and kill assist challenges, or something that will encourage fun team-based play.
P.S. I would love to see the stats on how many people reached 10, 20, & 50 victories and then see how many hours they put in.

I will say, I think I've been shorted 3 wins as well, it's hard to tell with the delay.

Not that I haven't accidently TKed a teammate or two. I've accidentally gaussed a friend in the back in the heat of battle, and once hit a friendly cent trying to torso twist away from an enemy cent right into my line of fire. Stuff happens. Just don't do the purposeful firing.

I really, really hope this kind of challenge doesn't happen again. I usually get 2-3 well-known high ELO players or lances equally on both teams when I solodrop but now... I saw them in the beginning of the challenge but after like one hour most of them just disappeared and it was all horrible matches with horrible teams with suiciders everywhere probably grinding for victories while watching a movie. Some of them even wrote in the chat that they "are going to suicide please do not follow".
My friend had a game where he did over 1500 damage and got 5 kills. I heard it on TS and saw the screenshot. He did not win that game. I say it again: DID NOT WIN! That pretty much tells the whole story. This challenge was not about skill. It was about grinding and luck with MM.
These kind of things NEVER happen in tournaments which are also based on solodropping because everyone tries to do their best and low ELO players and suiciders don't come in heards to simply grind.
These fraction challenges are getting harder and harder and I think it is a good thing. But this challenge wasn't just hard. It was frustrating and not funny.
edit. And for all the players who are still trying to win in a honest way the most obvious teamplayerthings help alot: ECM, dual AMS and UAV. You are going to have to support your team because you simply cannot carry them unless you have luck with matchmaker. If they get hit by LRMs they are too afraid to rush the enemy and not good enough to snipe the enemy. Even though you have trained hard to be a killing machine you have to change your role for this one.

The win based criteria appears to have had some effect on the way people play both for the better and worse but is at least something new. Personally, I'd like to see more of these as I feel that the win based criteria does encourage teamplay and have enjoyed more than the usual number of fairly decent solo queue games.
However, having also tried the challenge on (what I suspect is) a lower Elo level account, the experience may vary significantly.
Suggestion: Encourage solo queue players to use TS (where possible) by designating a TS server for those interested, refer to the Marik Monday Madness event for guidance but not necessarily with the sync dropping. The way this event was set up seems like an ideal opportunity for it.
Thanks PGI
