Mad at/about goons.

While MischiefSC might be a little overly charitable in his analysis, he's not that far off. GF played to win the game CCP made. It wasn't a good game.

Other places, Goon Antics are stupid but harmless for the next part.

Generally, Goons will play in the margins of a game, rather than the game as presented. That's why there used to be XL400, all small laser Awesomes followed by XL300 small laser Hunchbacks running around at unsafe speeds. You may notice that all got nerfed. Mechbuilding rules got changed. The game got more balanced. Unlike CCP, PGI actually tries to fix things from time to time, cutting down on the margins to play in. Although, sometimes they have bad ideas like Ghost Heat, so maybe that's a push.

All that leaves us with a reputation of being the bad guys. That's actually kinda fun, because we have a rep in a game before we even start playing. Who would want to lose that?

On the up side we're on your side this time. Guess who proposed that alliance, and stuck to it even after losing a world to y'all? You're welcome! You'll probably never see us outside of the forums.

Well, except the myriad of goon spies in other units. Always watching.

Squawk.

The Goons destroy games. That is all they do, and all they want to do.

I know a Goon website for My Little Pony (aka the Round Stable).

Believe me, they're definitely not the mindless animals you describe. Even the ones that ARE gamers. They're all over the spectrum, and your description fails to match my experience. Now, a lack of respect for people based simply on titles? Absolutely. People used to howl about the busted collision system in closed beta. Goons proceeded to chain-ram Paul during a match until he removed the busted system in question because rather than puckering up for the puckerhole, they called a spade a spade and beat him over the head with it until he felt our pain.

Goons are good at making people mad. You most definitely mad, blind mad. Unclench, take that shower, and stop tossing the Goons Alka-Seltzer.

Those who think differently are the ones who need to take a shower and learn to think. That pic on the front post of this thread is the most honest portrayal of what kind of person a Goon player actually is inside, and anyone who joins them knows what they are choosing to be part of.

Jakob Knight...

If you cannot see the Humor in that , then the problem is YOU! Every game has exploits/bugs, It is the duty of gamers, to find them so that competent developers can fix them. If the developers choose not to fix them, then your problem should be with the developers. I mean look at the current state of CW, we all know it is in beta, but there are some serious issues with it in general, things that must be fixed for it to be successful. By your twisted logic, every higher population faction is Exploiting the current system, Therefore every higher population unit is essentially like goons in other games. If the developers decided to do nothing and CW continues as it has been, then Factions like Davion and Ghost Bear ( just pickin the higher pop factions, not hating) will take over the map and CW will be ruined for everyone else. Will you blame the developers, or the units of those factions???

Goons are indeed good at making people mad. Goons made me mad a few days ago when it seemed like the Liao forums were nothing but "We're getting overrun by the swarm of Davions. Better abandon CW."

But do you know what happened?

I pointed out that not everybody knew about the Liao c-bill bonus... and then we got Crazy Romano's House of Contracts, which is probably the funniest goddamn thread that I've seen in months.

Goons can make me mad, but I don't stay mad. That Marik dude mad... he stay mad.

It is interesting that everyone rushes to the defense of a group dedicated to destroying their game. The Goons have no sense of responsibility or interest in the betterment of any game they play. Their only interest and reason for -being- a Goon is in the use of exploits to cause mayhem and chaos, period. As I have previously stated, they will always claim the ends justify the means, as that allows them to avoid facing the real harm they cause to real people through their actions.

No, I am not the problem. There is no humor in what the Goons do or stand for. Anyone who thinks so lacks honor or integrity, and -they- are the problem.

The Goons have demonstrated time and time again, in game after game, that all they say is just smoke screen and shallow words to cover their desire to enjoy the pain of others. I would say they are the worst examples of what gamers are, but they are not gamers. They use games and destroy them, not play them.

I have stated my case. I have answered the question that was asked. The Goons have gone out of their way over years and different games to ensure I understand them perfectly, and they should be quite pleased that they have succeeded so well. If people want to not accept my testimony, then that is their affair. I know what they are, and their actions have proven what their words are worth.

Jakob from what I understand the only people Goons harassed in STO were people into "erotic" roleplaying in that game. And anyone who wants to do that in an MMO kind of deserves all the mockery they get.

I am an SA goon and have been registered there since 2005 and reading since 00-01 sometime.

Here is my blog. http://wargamedork.blogspot.com/ Please tell me where I am out to destroy MWO and ruin people's fun. I mean I am a goon in WoL so I am only out to destroy right?

I must hate Battletech and everyone who plays the game right? http://wargamedork.b...d-stuff_17.html Yep.

Seriously dude. Its not Goons. It is you being stupidly serious and taking silly games the same way. Maybe.. goons just have fun playing the game without RPing it or taking the honestly dumb lore as important?

Literally that's what games is, yo.

Edit: I mean I personally play games for amusement. Do you . . . do you not?

You would be completely wrong about what the Goons did in STO, considering that they were so disruptive to a dev-hosted meeting intended to seek information on how to promote any Role Play in STO at all that the devs had to find alternate means of doing so, and the entire effort collapsed. These were not ERPers, but actual serious RP efforts from several established Fleets, those who wanted to make the game more than just a pew-pew game, and the Devs personally, and the Goons could not stand for it. Again, I was there. More than once they did this, and they were proud to have done so. Don't tell me they were in any way doing a right thing, because that would be just more of the old 'ends justify the means' rationale the Goons are so happy to use, and untrue in the fullest measure. Their ends were simple chaos and causing grief for other players and the Devs. Because they could.

As to what you write, while your articles do not slam MWO yet, you've chosen to stand with the Goons. You can never be anything but a Goon, and the actions of the Goons across games have proven that they and anyone who joins them have no veracity, honor, or any value for words other than as tools for their own amusement. Anything you write is that of a person who enjoys harming other people, so why would I want to listen to you? You've already proven you don't know what you are talking about as far as what the Goons did in STO, so as far as I'm concerned, you don't have a leg to stand on.

You say I am being stupidly serious? I expect that from a Goon, as they have never been serious about considering the hurt they cause and continue to cause to the people behind the screen, and never will. Indeed, they take pleasure in the tears of other players, as they so often like to point out. So, if I am being 'stupidly serious', maybe I have a reason for doing that. A reason no Goon will ever understand but that they went out of their way to ensure I have.

By being a Goon, you chose to stand for and alongside everything that is the worst in Gaming and between Gamers. That is all I need to know about you.

Given recent events in gaming, I don't think it's possible for goons to be the biggest turds in that sewer.

However, it doesn't look like you are interested in a conversation or a debate. You just want to come in here and talk a bunch of [redacted]. You are welcome to do so, but I don't think you're going to enjoy the response particularly. You may want to find something to do OTHER than willing interact with a group that you have some serious disdain for.

Unless you are a Goon sockpuppet account, and this is some kind of amazing meta-troll. If so, it's a top-shelf own.

Or to sum up in the parlance expected of me...

It was a Goon who wanted to understand the hatred they have put in other people. If they don't like the answer, they have only themselves to look to.

However, you are correct in that it is pointless to talk to Goons, so I am done here.

Lol you got it, bunches of goons were founders because we want to ruin the game. Also something something exploits. I personally spend all my days thinking up exploits like using guns in my mech to blow up other mechs. It is indeed out of control.

Seriously though I'm not sure that you understand fun if you think games aren't supposed to be fun or that there can be wrong bad fun in a game. I once dropped with goons where we spent 15 minutes on Comms trying to stack 16 Jenners. I was playing on a Wacom tablet with a pen. This is the kind of cutting edge game destruction you can expect from literally subhuman people on the Internet.

Are you just upset because we chose to roleplay the best characters canon battletech has to offer? I think so.

I heard that Goons are trying to invent a cure-proof cancer.

@Jackob - wow. You seem really angry. I am not being factitious when I say "please compare your problems to those of a Darfur war orphan, then state how terribly you were wronged". You are at this point attempting to dehumanize everyone who patrons a particular forum because this one time at band camp you got trolled in a game. That's not healthy.

Don't get me wrong. Many goons are total and complete jackwagons. The goons in EVE are so bad they deserve to play EVE, which is a flaming ****. Then again most people on the internet are terrible.

Hello Mr. Jakob (sic) Knight:

While I have been in cryo sleep for the past few months, I thought that I would personally take the time to roust myself from my e-slumber and address your e-concerns in this (to use the e-parlance of another forum) concerning [CONCERN].

As a denzin of K-Town (and once its baker. I guess that tag removal was a final, desperate, act of revenge on the part of Mr. Niko Snow), I for one find our avian and robotic avian overlords quite pleasant.

As a member of Marik, I appreciate the efforts put forward by Cleetus T. Merk in reaching out to us and solidifying our borders in the face of a Davion onslaught, during the early days of Community Warfare.

I continue to look forward to future, pleasant, relations with the Goonswarm and Liao pilots everywhere.
