lol I just gota say, I was excited to see the new paint scemes on the clan mechs I waited for soo long and to see they are as if a 4 yr old Finger Painted them onto the sides of the mechs. I was pissed to see my favorite camo the "Sherman" on the Timberwolf so sloppy you cant even read the words on the mech and the star looks like a smear mark. You can barely tell its a star. The detail on the camo paints has gone down really bad it seems. I remember when it first came out it was pretty ok, I mean it was still crappy as hell but still you could see fine line details. Now its horrible. Has any1 else noticed the drop in camo details? Theres no way in hell I'll pay money for **** Camo that looks like some clown used face paint and used his ass to detail his mech.....seriously.

Art is one of PGI's few strengths, and from what i've seen, the camos look pretty good.

What is your texture setting at? In game I got mine at low, but when I want to look threw a few camos a I jack it up to high and enjoy their crispness.

Primes are still unable to be customised with camo patterns. Gonna wait for that.

My settings are at the highest possible graphics wise and still the mech bay mech camos are terrible. Its not whining and bitching when its something worth bitching about cuz you pay real $ for you **********. Theres only 5 camos I noticed that are seriously bad. Most are descent but anything with sharp detail like words, symbols or paterns the edging is horrible. They put so much detail in the demensions, and visual effects and even skins of all the clan mechs which are beautifully detailed but cant edit the camo art?

Skins for most 'mechs are horribly low-res. Some are 2048x2048 but most are 1024x1024.

Best Kit Fox paint scheme ever.
Also, Looking at Sherman on my Timber Wolf, the positioning of that CT star is amazing XD

I agree on the smaller mechs they might not look bad. but on the timby and even more so on the dires a lot of the camos looks like ****. the worst offenders are phranken, sherman, vagabond and buccaneer with it being the shittiest of them all.

The Phranken skull looks odd and loses a lot of detail with a bright color for the splatters other wise ok, There is just no excuse for the buccaneer which looks like a 2 year old colored all over the mech with crayons especially on the direwolf.

I hope they fix em cause as much as I wana put another camo on other than polygon, I can't justify spending money to make my mech look crappy.

It looks like some of the patterns are only using 25% of the actual pattern itself. I'm thinking of Urban Block, Vagabond and a few others. Compare their 'size' to established Inner Sphere Mechs. I'm not very impressed with the attention to detail on the work done here, I am sorry to say.

Phranken looks ok to me.

Posted Image

So does Buccaneer.

Sherman looks ok to me too, in fact DWF seems to have a unique spray of skulls there on the side of the CT. Not seen that on any other chassis.

My only beef with the paint on the DWF and TBR is that the missile pods on both cover up parts of the paintjob.

To be fair here, the Summoner seems to have a very low quality texture map for all its schemes, they should really look at that.

You can see that same spray of skull on the stalker texture map I posted above, but you are correct the direwolf sherman texture is one of the 2048x2048 textures. On closer inspection only assaults get a 2048x2048 texture, everything else gets 1024x1024. This makes a little sense since the surface area is larger for the most part but I would still go 2048x2048 on everything. Actually the timberwolf, catapult and thunderbolt have more surface area than the stalker and victor anyway.

yeah the weapons are on a different texture map and for all the clan mechs they appear solid black (no RGB=no skin colors)

Nah, this isn't needless moaning. I was excited to throw some one shot camos on my Vindicators, and I noticed straight away that some of these are simply ugly, in comparison to how they are on my other IS mechs. Want examples?

Shadowhawk (Snowfall):

Vindicator (snow looks horrible):

^Also notice how the secondary color doesn't even show up or make a difference.

Then for others, the scale is just off. Example..

Probably going to pick up a bit of hate here, but I do agree to some extent that some of the camos seem a bit... rushed. My Kit Fox looks fine, and so do my Timber Wolves, but the Sherman texture, for example, looks... slapped together. That star doesn't seem to belong on the top of the cockpit, IMHO. Still, most of the other textures look fine at highest texture detail.

Also I doubt we'll be seeing camos for the Invasion 'Mechs, because they're essentially hero 'Mechs, and we all know that they're not getting the ability to switch camos.

Wait for Koniving, ha.

I remember a thread were there was 1K patterns, 2K and low stuff. Huge difference if you ask me. Kinda pathetic if you pay for a lower texture then it should be.

OP has a point. Unfortunatly we have alot of other points waiting for a fix.

The point of having camo is staying camoed against the same objective back ground if your with a good ECM team. Specialy those Catas and Timberwolfs. They need that added hard to lazer find that sucker if its not spamming missles way in the back. Its hard to tell which map you're going to get stuck in and picking a well balanced paturn that blends in with some of the best maps for hide and Seek tactics. I just dont see the point of having a huge Radial Star on top of my Mad Cat that I cant even see even barely in the mech bay. Plus its impossible to see ingame. The fact that the 1 and only visible star that distinguishes the "sherman" look on the Timberwolf is so blur'd it doesnt even look like a Sherman. If the Timberwolf looked a bit more like the Stalker Sherman i'd be content.
