I usually play fair. Even if game allows some tricks that are considered "dirty" by the people (eg. legging or LRM Camping).

If someone annoys me with his behavior - I can be nasty... very nasty to a degree where I exploit game weaknesses (not exploits but rather imbalances/issues with map design, etc.) in order to get him punished and screaming angry on his screen. But that doesn't happen often ;)

A lot of people in Mechwarrior 3 and 4 saw things like Legging and going for the back, arms, whatever is cheating.

And those are the people I enjoy legging most. That's wh,at you get for stripping your leg armor.

However, in mw4 legging/stripping was *slightly* cheap because the legged player might be better off ejecting and respawning... that isn't an issue here as there us no respawn.... so its not at all exploiting the game, its just a tactical
choice.

I won't leg as much if I am playing as a clanner, though.

I also plan on chaining my lrms to keep them rockin. I usually have 2 fire groups for my main weps... on for alpha damage and one for the sweet annoyance of chain fire. I always did that in mw4, clanner or not.

I think if you have to ask yourself what you would so, you are taking too much time.

Play to win. Because if you play just to have fun, and are aginst somone who is only there to win, you put your self at a disadvantage.

The only way I see to play unfair is by hacking/cheating/using exploits. Legging, headshots, DFA's are all fair play.

In the words of Jane from Fire fly. "I only kill a man in a fair fight, or if I think he is going to start a fair fight"

Of course I will play to win. I will use every advantage I have except of cheating. What does it help to play fair and lose then?

Well the OP makes a good question. I was in MW4 drops where people exploited the game such as "heat bugging" or "missile sliding". I hated seeing it but it happened, sometimes in league drops.

Somehow this topic about legging your enemy or not reminds me of Monty Python and the black knight...

If a mech has a weakness, then take it out fair and square, expose your weekness and you are dead. If you take care not to hurt your enemy too much you are insulting him by not giving it your best.

AU will play to win, but we will do our best to level the playing field as much as possible, and will fight as honorably as possible to do that, and win. If I'm a good enough pilot to take your head, take your legs, or stay behind you and shoot you in the back, I'm a good enough pilot to defeat you from the front, without continuous malicious shooting of a single vulnerable location.

Which reminds me....

Does anyone know if the flamers can get someone hot enough that they will auto eject? I always loved doing that to people in mw4, even though it counted as a suicide so you didn't get points...

If not, I'll just dfa them while they are shut down...

My definition of a fair fight is one where me and my lancemates go home alive. Screw the rest of them.

As soon as you can tell me the guy in my crosshairs will fight fair, I will be happy to. Until then I am going to assume he is a crotch kicker and I will try and get mine in first!
