I play fair.
Winning doesn't matter, only the enjoyment of all players.
Sure, I tend to do pretty well kill-to-death-wise on most games, but I also tend to be on the losing team.
And every so often in games, I might let someone limp away in a wreck, but I guess that is just cruelty.
Fun is all that matters. That's the whole point of games. Fun. Entertainment.

I vote for play Fair. If you can win fair you are superior to the enemy in all sense. I am a Claner i dont aknowledge playing unfair. The only reason i would play unfair is, if the enemy is superior in numbers, and plus they are palying really unfair. Than i will shoot anything on the enemy (the catapulting pilot as well), caus they dont deserve a better treatment.

If you play, you play to win. That said, enjoying the game is the main reason for playing, so if playing dirty is your cup of tea, then by all means play dirty, if you enjoy a noble contest with open visor, toe to toe with your opponent, then joust away.
cheating through exploits is below contempt and should not be accepted.

I will play to enjoy the game, sometimes I will play nice, and sometimes I will play nasty. For Victory.

Play to win, as long as it's within the rules (not exploiting bugs, hacking, etc)

I will never cheat, or exploit a bug. I have seen the leaked footage, and am confident that leg damage is handled well, so i have qualms against legging, if someone is dumb enough to stand still and let me shoot their legs (or rear amor). Will I shoot at a mech that has suffered a thermal shutdown? That depends on the situation.

That is a convoluted question. I'd certainly shoot a mech in the back, if that's what you mean by not playing fair. I don't subscribe to the "Mal Reynolds" way of fighting. (Mal: "If I shoot you, you will be facing me, and you will be armed"). I subscribe to the "Van Leek" way of fighting. (Billy Ray: "You just shot him in the back!" Van Leek: "Well, his back was to me.")

To me, that's both playing fair and playing to win.

Would I use some sort of patch or cheat to win? No. That is actual cheating, and at that point I'm playing to win in an unacceptable way, and at that point I am not playing fair.

Hit em till it hurts, then hit em again and kick em when there down. Cheating and hacking to do it though? Nasty...

voted play to win just cuase this is a dumb post that has already been covered by the devs. This game will not be pay to win, but have convience items. I.e. Boosts, buying mechs wihout earning them and such.

Never hit a man when he's down. Kick him. It's easier.

The situation is that he overheated... either by building a bad mech, being too trigger happy, or by getting shot by my flamers.

Seems like a good time for an alpha strike to the cockpit!

True. But if it comes down to me and someone else on the field, and it's been a good fight, i'd rather we both get a chance to go down swinging. Unless it's an atlas, the **** it.

No offence, but I find the question irrevelant. In an honest to goodness fight, where it is yourself and someone else in a true fight, there is no 'fair versus unfair'. You figth to win. At least I do ...

If at some point you find yourself fighting a fair fight, then you've not planned the fight well enough.

Also in a team game if you're not going all out (e.g. for the sake of "fairness") you're letting down your teammates.

As long as you are playing within the construct of the game, you are playing to win. Use whatever creative tactics and mech builds that you want and give it your all.

If there is lag switching or hacking going on... that isn't playing. That is cheating.
