Years of delay are an indication that it might not happen on the date they've announced. Not that it won't happen. There's a big difference between the two.

Yeah it's a big difference if you're incredibly naive and never learn from past experiences. Fortunately I'm neither of those things.

I'm personally not expecting anything resembling a functioning CW until January of 2015. Maybe December if I'm being optimistic. There is going to be almost no way around the torrential flood of bugs that is bound to happen when they released phase 2, and that will remain glitch, and off-balanced, and buggy all through December, possibly into January. I maybe getting cynical, but if they beat this very, VERY low bar I've set for them, I might actually be happy with PGI.

Yeah, that's why I'm expecting January, maybe December.

I think your still looking at it from the perspective of them only having 1 game . With 2 games mounting delays in mwo can make them basically just say **** it not worth the effort it's time to start winding development down for it. which is what happenened in Global Agenda<Tribes Ascend<Smite case The devs for those literally milked the cow till it was dry and moved on.

CW is still at 15%. You think it's coming in 30 days?

It was said in something somewhere by one of them that it had to do with some Canadian laws and taxes if memory serves correctly.

Huh? Our tax laws have nothing to do with whether or not a piece of software is considered beta or not.
I'm pretty sure we'd qualify "donations" in the crowd funding manner as sales. That means upwards of 13% taxation from Canadian citizens on PST/GST/HST; no tax on those outside of Canada... And then corporate taxes on the earnings. I'm not quite sure what they are, but Alberta and Quebec are the most favourable provinces for it, I think.
If wikipedia is correct and they employ 65 people, that's going to be extremely expensive and where the lions share of game profits go. Very few if any of these employees are going to receive minimum wage ($10.20 / hour). Most of them probably make closer to $50 to $80 / hour or more. I'm not sure what all a company has to pay for their employees. part of EI I believe, part of the canadian pension plan.. PGI may or may not opt to provide additional employee benefits.

Phase 1 ? Like the other guy said, now we have a stupid picture in front of our name after 2 years of missed deadlines and no announcements? You're happy with that?

Did I say I was happy? Nope, I just stated what I'm observing.

That's for the whole package, and not just phase 2. Which is what the post you were quoting was referring to.

Also, the Plan doesn't get updated as often as I'd like it to be.

I tried that game for exactly 15 minutes, it was garbage. Dont even compare Mechwarrior to that game in any way. Mechwarrior has great combat and mechs and is missing just about everything else but thats an unfair comparison to be used in any way.

it absolutely is not an unfair comparison I was there I saw the hype and press generated and the only difference between the 2 ONLY difference between them is the MWO ip is bigger . People had been waiting on a new Tribes for years (just like MW) and got a sub standard game (MWO you may think it rocks but the world at large disagrees with you) The TA devs announced a new game .......and we shall see what igp pgi opp does next.

They still have 2 months, becuase I am going to assume based of of association and it's release at the end of the month that phase 2 is going to get release at the end of the month of october.

As for the plan, I find it's number less reliable than they were before. when association was released it stayed at 90 for a while

Calm down, they basically got to where they needed to get to with MWO,

That requires the complete, and utter dismissal of reality to accept that.
I'm stunned you feel MWO is "where it needs to be".........words fail.
Check my sig, I put it up there MORE than a year ago.
I am still getting rubberbanding, desync or whatever its called AFTER the patch yesterday that was supposed to fix it.
Gold mechs and blindly nerfing mechs, skipping map (CONTENT) production is just......words fail. Good day young man, good luck in life and all its quirky endeavors, I suspect you may well be surprised, often by its outcome.

It was good... in beta. It could have been a good Tribes game but they ran it into the ground by ignoring the tribes vets, nerfing everything, putting out stupid weapon/skin packs and limiting loadout customization. Sound familiar?

I still remember there was one tree we could knock down in river city during beta.

I wonder what ever happened to that.

I think the reason people are upset isn't quite how you stated it, I don't care what PGI spends my money on. Profit is what keeps companies in business. And I like good companies to stay in business. That's how a free market system works. We vote with our dollars.
This is the same issue as it was last year and the year before: PGI billed MWO as a different game than it turned out to be. They have set a track record of breaking promises already, this gives the community a sense that :
"Hey , I don't know if I should have trusted these guys with my money."
PGI is very casual, as far as developers go.

To conclude, you will see alot of misdirected statements involving money and spending. It's projection. This is what people do when they are upset. And they have every right to be distrustful of a new project from a company that is establishing a track record of unfinished games.

That would require someone to make an effort. We all know that's not their style.

In other news: I am really said to hear PGI are going to devote what little attention they have to developing another game. It sounds like the deathknell for MWO.

The only thing that cheers me up is the comical situation whereby they actually seem to think anyone is going to give them enough money to do that.
