Most of what you said was repetitive in saying "If I (you) don't like the way you're communicating, then you don't deserve to be heard and has no value."
I think it's more along the lines of, not all opinions are as valid as others.
If I were to post a long rant about how I believe the best way forward with MWO is to reskin all the mechs as giant Smurfs, ads should pop up over game play every 30 seconds, and Russ should give out his personal phone number as a show of respect for the community, no one would defend it as an opinion with value that deserves to be heard.
and that's the problem with so many gamers, and not just here. They think that owning a keyboard and having an internet connection means they have a valid opinion worth listening to.

If they are a legit player they do have a valid opinion worth listening to. The rest goes without saying.
Unless of course they are piloting OP clan mechs in which case not so much. While on the subject of clan mechs let me just say haha just kidding

Now as far as hoping the game shuts down so someone else can take the license. The last months in SWG some people (the rest were sad) talked about how good it was that it would shut down as a punishment to SOE(not caring about those who liked the game) and that Bioware soon would launch the mmorpg to end all mmorpgs.
I told them that despite its past, SWG was the better game and in gaming there is no such thing as the promised land. In my mind I have been proven right.
As far as toxic goes, compared to EVE this has so far been a very civilized forum.
Just a newbies perspective.

That ship sailed a while ago.
The game is dying, and soon all that will be left will be redditors and twitch streamers.

I don't have a problem giving PGI a second chance or a "fresh start", but let's be honest... I have effectively given them multiple second chances they don't fail to disappoint. At this stage of the game, it's put up or shut up. The problem is that to some degree, they haven't put the effort into some of it. Even Russ wrote in that Clan vs IS balance thing... they "hope" that would be the "last balance" change needed... when anyone with a clue knows.. it's not even close to being done at all (Flamers being #1 on that list as it were).
When I dropped my Founders money, I EXPECTED decisions to be made I would not like, yes Expected. They are making the game for more people than just me! So I Expected them to listen to what I say, weigh and measure it, and treat it as an opinion. Much like when My kids tried to tell me how to raise them. I listened, thought about it and either dismissed it or discussed it further. In the end, the DEVs have to make the game THEY think is best. While they do that, I will poke them with a stick when I think it is stupid, I will laugh when I think its funny, and I will defend when I think they have it right.
BUT there are 500,000 ME's out there and each wants the game to be... a bit different than how I want it. Their voice is just as important as mine. And When I disagree, it isn't personal(I DON'T LIKE YOU!!!) it Personal (I'd like to see it my way instead of yours).
The DEVs have messed up quite a few times as far as I am concerned, but if I took things like that personally I'd have quit my job at Ford when they were a week late with my first check...21 years ago. So if the game isn't what you were hoping it would be, think about it, are you the only player? If you answer no then you know why it isn't exactly how you want it.
Flamers are a space filling fluff weapon, it is not meant to be worth taking, you take it when you got nothing else you WANT to take. I have played Giant Stompy Robots for 30 years without using a Flamer. The game would not die if they NEVER got fixed. Trust me on that.

Thanks for the input! I will say, that compared to what it was in 2013, it has been quite civilized. That said, the sudden upsurge of little saboteurs in the last month or two, and the actions of a few disgruntled, is really all it takes to get the whole kettle boiling again (as Eve shows, not that it ever really stops boiling, at least when I have been).
Of course, ATM, most of the vitriolic lads seem to be trolling the new Transverse forums with all their might.

Yeah, and you know what? The dev's were right and the community was wrong. How about that? No harm came to the state of game play as a result of the the third person decision.

Yeah, you notice how THAT little detail gets .....swept under the rug conveniently?
I was one of the biggest Forum Ragers against it. Though in truth, my biggest bit of anger was the .....hmmmm... conveniently timed "forum reorganization" that removed GenDis and also happened to kill several multi-1000 response Threadnaughts about 3pV and P2W consumables.
Regardless, what happened? Almost immediately they backpedaled on MC only consumable superiority. (Might have been a dumb idea in the first place, but there result was called "Listening to your community"). Eventually, after MUCH effort, GenDis restored.
And.
It turned out the Devs did a pretty dang good job of making a 3pV that was pretty effectively exploit free. You can use it slightly to peek a corner here or there, but that's about it, and at the risk of announcing yourself through your flying hat.
And even then, certain "worthies" spent weeks trying to continue to fuel and incite the forum rage on how it could be "exploited".
And yet...in the last year, aside from being cited as an example of "How PGI doesn't Listen"....... when has anyone raised a complaint about the actual use in game?
Yes Dorothy, sometimes, PGI actually does have a plan that we don't all get to see, and get's things right.
Of course, we can't do this, due to name and shame rules in the CoC, but just imagine for a minute, if we took certain Notable Forumites, and EVERYTIME they spoke, we had a nice text.file ready of their every Incorrect assumption, bad idea, Forum Misstep, and just plastered them and harangued them with it nonstop, and absolutely ignored or trivialized anything they did right. Pretty sure we would see most of them ragequit, pretty fast.

Never seen Freelancer or played it. But in truth, I find 90% of space fighter games have a lot of pretty homogenous looking ships, be it Transverse or Star Citizen, to Eve to TV scifi shows.
I mean, OMG, they have side thrust nacelles, forward cockpits and dorsal/belly guns...OMG!!!!
(Hey, anyone notice how most WWII fighters shared the same general shape and attributes, and most cold war fighters, and most Modern Gen 5 Fighters.....)ç
IDK, I suppose it could be a potential legality red flag though, in this day and age, but IMO, while not particularly excited about the new game (last Space Fighter game I played was WC3), I guess I just don't think it's a big deal.

Gotta be honest Bishop, while bringing down the forum rage and vitriol is a good thing, you're talking about stooping to their level and worse. Better to just ignore them and have a mod delete any problem posts of theirs from threads they are disrupting.

Yet one that their Publisher, IGP pushed on them (per Paul) in their attempt to "mainline FPS" MWO in a typical misguided Publisher attempt to further monetize things (thinking it would bring in hordes of new players).
And hey, there are a fair number of new players who do use it. And eventually they learn 1pV is better and switch.
