I am more optimistic now. And am glad to see more communication now than before.

Hope this means many more good things in the future for MWO.

I would have to agree - PGI and co do seem more talkative than before :)

Thanks we worked hard to establish our influence and become as active as we wanted to be in the past.

So is this why PGI started out in the early Dev Blog days with great communication and public interaction and then just, sort of went the way of secluded comstar for a good while up until recently?

Always blamed IGP for a lot of things. :D

Hey PGI - What does this mean for the future of PGI? Are you guys still owned by IGP? Just curious :)

It means we have no intention of stopping any time soon.

And no IGP never owned us, all those theories are just silly. We have been around for 15 years they formed in 2011 for publishing games. The fact that Infinite Game Publishing ended up being PGI backwards was just one of those things I never even realized until the first consipracy theories :)

You're gonna have to ask IGP and Blue Lizard about that one, PGI isn't involved with MW:T.

BLG hasn't worked on MWT since Dec 2013.

I consider this potentially excellent news... though I've taken more than a few leaps of faith with PGI in the past and been left dangling.

Still, I'm cautiously optimistic, which puts me back to a somewhat neutral state after Russ's comments from yesterday rubbed me the wrong way. (In retrospect, I think awkward phrasing may have had something to do with that.) Guess I'll see how the twitch stream goes.

What does this do to MW Tactics? Will you continue to sell Founders packages, while zero developement is being done on the game for months? Or is the game dead?

My opinion still remains unchanged, so it remains up to PGI to convince me otherwise.

Care to elaborate for the rest of us?

Self publishing gives them more ongoing cash that they don't have to pay in royalties, as well as additional creative control. For the average user, as seen in the last month, this is going to mean more events, more story and quicker development. Don't get me wrong, PGI still has butt load of work, but the average user will see more going on weekly, rather than monthly and quarterly. From the back end of the finance piece not starving of cash enables the allocation of additional resources to new projects (maps and content), but more importantly allows for funds to be spent on activities that promote and retain a user base... the primary source of funds. So advertising will get a boost, retention and recruiting should improve. Overall the "feel" of the community should improve.

PGI also get s a better balance sheet out of this, enabling it to access better sources of capital for its other projects (AUTE), and less stress over staffing and other expenditures because they take up less of the proverbial pie.

Like most businesses cash is king, and even a small infusion of regularly occurring cash in comparison to total operating revenue can have a profound effect on its ability to not only meet expenditure, but to invest in new datacenters, contests, advertising, discounts, design and production. While some of these projects are longer term, most are near term and cost very little, meaning that the sudden influx of cash is most effective right where it belongs; affecting the weekly user experience.

I consider this good news at this point as long term players are aware of various issues IGP bought to the development of MWO. I am hoping that this development will lead to a greater independence of good decision making and progress towards a proper CW for the game.

Looking forward listening to the NGNG program in the next few hours times.

Cheers
Eboli.

Can you? I mean... you could have a good market with two stlyed F2P MW based game. If you went around and fixed the flaws on it. Man, you could have MW fans in for a good roll.

At the very least if they fail, we will know PGI is completely to blame and a terrible company. If they don't, then we can at least pretend IGP was to blame.

I secretly hoped the new game would be a continuation of MW:O with interstellar fights, where a user who had an account at MW:O would see all his belonging transferred to the new game, but i digress.

PGI, I sincerely hope this will help MW:O move forward. It seems it might be a reality but that's what I hope for tbh.
