Greetings MechWarriors, It's with great excitement that I share with you that Piranha Games Inc. has reached a deal with Infinite Game Publishing for the return of all MWO publishing rights to PGI as of September 1st 2014. Over the past three years Piranha enjoyed a good working relationship with IGP. From the beginning IGP brought passion and dedication to the MechWarrior brand and had many employees that were completely dedicated to the products success. However it can still be very difficult at times to make the corporate needs and strategies of two companies align, for this reason we were able to come to agreement with IGP for all publishing, marketing and hosting responsibilities to move to Piranha. With these responsibilities now here, everything from design, development, marketing and control of hosting resides within Piranha's offices. It is our expectation that this will lead to much more efficient development and marketing of the product. Although we just signed the deal at the end of Aug, we have been operating under this model since the beginning of August, this is reflected in the increased community efforts and updates over the last five weeks. This, along with the marketing efforts of the many events and faction based sales. This is a good example of how efficiently things can be with all facets within the same office space, were committed to continuing this efficiency throughout the entire project.

Nobody else to blame. Don't screw it up. Good luck. I see this as a positive.

Oh, so that's where the Clan money went - to buy out IGP.

All right, hopefully that means you can focus on MWO 100% now, right?

So the delays were mainly because of IGP? I'm not sure if I missed something.

Well, hopefully any roadblocks to further development have been removed.
Please, make sure to devote enough resources and time to seeing this great IP flouish, instead of languish.

Why were members of competitive teams such as HOL and SJR informed of the IGP buyout almost a month before the general public? (This has been confirmed on two twitch streams.)

In order to increase transparency the streams in question were Celyth's and Odwalla/Sebinitu's. I've known about this buyout for about three weeks thanks to overhearing it on HoL teamspeak during a stream in which specific PGI employees were referenced as supplying the information.

I've kept quiet for 3 weeks because I thought it was a good call. I had faith in PGI. I was excited to see new hirings posted on PGI's job board as I thought they would increase the pace of development on MWO. And then I hear about this new game and my hopes are trashed.

Does PGI have a policy concerning the interaction of staff members between certain groups of players so as to avoid possible conflicts of interest or competitive advantages that might arise during CW? (If any of you are familiar with EVE, the t20 incident seems something that might happen here.)

If so, what is PGI's policy in terms of favoritism shown by privileged users (employees, community figures, premier competitive players) towards outside organizations such as teams, in game clans or groups of users?

Now that you cut ties from IGP, any chance could you explain what effect they had on the development of MW:O?
The lack luster Clan hype and zero in game hub bub when they arrived comes to mind as a sacrifice to lay at the feet of IGP.

2 years ago when projected dates were being released then failed, was IGP the ones calling for set dates for certain features?

How much say did they have on the actual game play of MW:O? Did they call for 3PV?

Cautiously hopeful.

The challenges and such have certainly been a good (and improving) thing, hope this is the beginning of a good trend.

Ahahahaaha! Now its up to you guys to do it right. No more hiding behind excuses like "the publisher said we had to".

This could be either very good news or very bad news. I hope PGI makes it count.

I doubt it was deliberate. Probably just a screw-up/miscommunication.
