Things do seem to be getting better, can I keep the torches and the pitchforks?

Sounds great, however with the recent announcement and PGI moving to a different game then turning back... it makes me concerned about MWO's future.
Could you release a statement about PGI's stability and MWO current status?

MWO is fine and will be until roughly 2020, when the license from Microsoft expires. PGI is trying to grow, but the MWO staff has not changed much since it started. Let us try not to start a commotion where none is needed.

The big problem I am having the inability to make purchases for MC so i can get the packages. For some reason the tickets I submit disappear. I have now missed a few key perks from pre-ordering the wave 2 stuff. It seems all this is related. Growing frustrated and now considering not playing at all. There is not even a phone number I can find to resolve all this. Click on the support pages and there is no info at all. Please get your acts together.

So when you go to https://mwomercs.com/support/tickets, you see no tickets?

IGP may have shuttered.

http://en.wikipedia....Game_Publishing

Tested today, does not resolve. I was looking for more detail on what IGP actually had to do with MWO's development ( since things seem to have kicked into high gear since the split ) when I ran across it.

I really wish they could get TJ "PainGod" Wagner on board, to flesh out CW. From a development standpoint, he (or someone with his chops) could really turn things around and get them moving in a good direction.

Yeah the Government of Canada aint going to be too happy with IGP. They were running off money from the Government last time I checked not to mention the founders cash for MechWarriors Tactics.

Huh i didn't even realize this happened, I just found out. From the fact that MWTactics & IGP's websites no longer exist. Does IGP even exist anymore?

I'm glad your team has complete autonomy on this property. I haven't played in sometime but I'll probably jump back on board sooner or later. (Skipped the whole clan launch)

It's unfortunate that it hasn't changed much. PGI are releasing things much more quickly, yes, and there are some good things that have come of it, and there are some good things the talking heads are saying are coming out, but we've heard it all before, right? So, in essence, there is little that is changing; so many missed opportunities to make this game work that have been balled up. It's unfortunate that making this game is more about money over the short term than it is about making a great game that would bring in money for a long time to come. I understand... no one wants to do the same thing for their entire life... even if it involves the possibility of having a great deal of money.

IGP has gone to the after-life. Presumably its in Hell, where bad corporations that lose money go. ;)

And that is the pessimist side of the argument.

For those that are not stuck in pessimism, tons of great things have happened and the "new PGI" has made leaps and bounds not only in content (quality) and speed (quantity), but in reliability (meeting deadlines), communication (tons of info all over the place), and responsiveness (fixing things as we report/complain).

Things are going great, and are only going to get better as PGI works out the issues. Yes, they are still money-hungry, especially if you are on the Clan side (/sigh), but they do have to pay their bills, just like any other company that wants to succeed.

Unfortunately, in a business, there's these things called employees. They like to be paid. Businesses also have operating expenses. Things like keeping the lights and heat on and possibly rent on the office. Add in the expense of a data center with monthly power and data charges.

Yeah, unfortunately companies DO have to think about the short term as well.

You misunderstand what I was saying... whatever decision tree they decided to climb, they took a lot of wrong branches. They could have had a great deal more money in the short term, and they had it in the very beginning, and could have kept that trend going until they shut down the servers. However, they went against their own posted design documents, which I see have now been edited heavily, and they went away from those who were advising them on what needed to be put into the game, and built it for twitchers. A lot of that was IGP, I get it... however, PGI missed many opportunities along the road to make this game the way they said they were going to make it in the first place. In essence, the money invested by all of us who came here because of their original postings has gone to make a product very few of us desired to see, and which is greatly opposite of what they said they wanted to do. If IGP had not meddled as much as they did, or if they would have seen the wisdom in listening to those of us who've been around the longest and GAVE THEM the formula for making a truly successful game, IGP would still be here, MechWarrior: Tactics would very much still be running, and MechWarrior Online would be increasing far more in community daily than they are, now. Many who come and sign up to MWO leave shortly thereafter because of how this game is constructed; the twitchers will soon be very bored -many are already leaving for other shiny things- and will close the servers down when the twitcher numbers dwindle so badly, and because many of the veterans who came here, paid Founders money, and tried to get the game we paid for, are gone. This entire business has been run piss-poorly from the start.

I just hope the IGP mess stays dead and buried. How they spent all that money is beyond me. Its fairly obvious they could not repay their debts; the business shuttered with over 16M in debt. Obviously all of it did not go into MWO, and there were only a few known areas of investment and expenses (MWO, MWT, Sins of A Dark Age until the devs bought them out, and the customer-service people to handle tickets for those products and the data-center costs). The only asset being auctioned at this point is MWT, so there really wasn't any other significant project in their pipeline.

Kay, the one thing that has me sort of really worried about the prospects of seeing a hardcore logistics, detail-oriented CW is the massive turnover we have had in our typical forum audience. Back in 2012, CW threads were a popular thing. When I began posting again in December of last year and this year, suggesting more or less the same things as I did back then (with some changes), the response I've gotten is deafening silence ;-). My concern is that the current MWO audience does not even want the same things we wanted back then in 2012.

In that sense, my greatest fear is two-fold:

1) PGI-IGP missed the boat on harnessing the hardcore players we had back then to make a truly epic CW experience
2) The current audience (and future steam audience) just might not care.
