Russ also confirmed on NGNG today that there is another clan pack in the works to be announced next week.

its 4 mechs plus a bonus mystery mech for those who already have the pack

1 of each

so i am going to assume its

1. L: Firemoth
2. M: ???
3. H: Mad Dog
4. A: Gargoyle

and then for mech 5: i am going to say the IMP since its the way to get people their urbanmech without doing the urban mech.

"After the clans, we're totally gonna be re-focusing our efforts on gameplay and bug fixes, and our art assets will go back to making maps....

...But while you wait for those stuff, HOW ABOUT BUYING SOME MORE CLAN MECHS?"

Come on folks. Come on.

the difference is they will be releasing these at 1 mech per month, don't have to program in a omnipod system, and can reuse assets. whereas before they had to drop basically everything to get clans out in time.

it was also said that it was IGPs doing so much so that that is delayed CW which is one of the reasons why CW was delayed

Since any MASC mech is being shelved for right now that only leaves a few mechs for the next clan pack to choose from. The new light mech would have to be the 25 ton Mist Lynx (Koshi) and the assault would have to be the 80 ton Gargoyle (Man O' War).

The heavy will be the Hellbringer as the legs and arms already exist. The only reason to put the Mad Dog in is for faction flavor or not wanting another ECM mech.

The Ghostbears use the Viper/Dragonfly quite a lot I would not mind seeing that added before the Mad Dog.

I want a clan Ember. Couple of mechs that could fill that role and I'm not picky.

All i really want is both the Hellbringer and Mad Dog but since they are both heavies chances are slim. Unless one of them is the bonus mech that they mentioned for having bought both clan packs.

Guess we will have to wait till next week to find out.

He did clearly specify that they wanted atleast some more clan mechs to compete with the amount of IS mechs currently available.

Since they will also be coming out with Clan faction specific camo, I assume the 4 mechs will be iconic mech for each clan.

L: Fire Falcon??? (3052)
M: Pouncer
H: Mad Dog
A: Kodiak

No MASC!

Moving on, I'm betting its

Light - Mist Lynx (Koshi)
Medium - Viper (Dragonfly)
Heavy - Hellbringer (Loki)
Assault - Gargoyle (Man O' War)

Mad Dog (Vulture) being the exclusive fifth design, though I suppose the Loki could be this and the Vulture is the pack one.

One nice thing about the Viper/Dragonfly is the speed. It's a fast little 40 ton medium that would make a nice counter to the Cicada. Especially if they make an ECM variant.

I like the idea of adding more clan mechs, but hopefully we won't have to wait almost a year before we can buy some of them for c-bills.

@CycKath: That is a good list. I believe each of those is favored by a specific invading Clan as well.

Why can't PGI solve this MASC issue until today?

Cmon, who cares about Gargoyle? Gimme Executioner.

Then I'd prefer Kodiak. Same 400XL engine as Gargoyle, but far more useful.

The Gargoyle would be nearly useless in MWO. It would have 19.5 tons of pod space after maxing its armor, or I guess you could strip down 0.5 tons of armor to bring your pod space up to 20 tons. An 80 ton mech, with 20 tons of weaponry...think about that for a second. For reference, a 55 ton Shadow Hawk can have up to 26.5-27 tons of "pod space" available. Lol.

Oh, and its hardpoints are bad too, so you can't even boat lasers with it to make up for the lack of tonnage.

Come on folks. Come on.

By Russ own admission PGI has been runnig as its own entity since beginning of August.
Today was, Decals-soon.
CW, soon.
Community tools no.
Big things, soon.
New Mech Pack, on its way.
Sooo in actual fact what has changed since IGP walked out?.
Not alot it seems.
