The bad guy ships look a lot like cylon raiders from the last remake of that series. Not a good choice to imitate something so widely known.

Why the hell do they think it's a good idea to compete with Star Citizen, when they have a fine niche product that could attract more paying customers if it was a bit improved upon? Are they totally nuts?

Well I know its early for this game but if I put money into a pledge package I'll be putting it to Star Citizen. They listen to the community, keep promises and inform.

Edit:

Out of spite I got another ship from Star Citizen

Because 6 months ago they saw how much Star Citizen has made. So they threw together a CGI trailer, and figured, we'll design the rest after the millions start rolling in.

Doesn't Star Citizen have a $1,500 package (or was that $15,000)?

Looks like an EVE knockoff to me

Story line reminds me of Battlestar Galactica....

I couldn't help but think the opening sequence reminded me of the Lost in Space remake back in 1998 :P

It does, equally as stupid.

honestly go watch an early SC trailer, go watch PGI's, then go watch some of the unreal 4 tech demos, i know which would get my money :/

If this game has real drifting then I might be interested.

And by that I mean that if you cut power to engines you keep your velocity and direction of travel regardless of how you rotate your ship and don't magically break/stop like there was a water resistance in space or something stupid like that.

Ok, watched the trailer and....not impressed. I'm freak for games involving space and I'll fall for lot of things and I'm really glad to see lot of space titles after years of having none, but this... ?
Hardly.

Trailer is just OK, nothing fancy. Gfx is meh. Dreadnought trailer is much more better made, graphics wise. BTW, enemy ships reminded me on Drej ships from Titan A.E
Story setup is fine, game setup is already seen. It feels like Star Citizen "for poor" (just a figure of speech).

I've pledged for Star Citizen and for Elite: Dangerous and expect a lot from Roberts and Braben and I know I will get a lot (considering their history and background).
I'm usually quick on "pledge trigger" but not this time.
However, I never say never. It's up to you, PGI.

Yeah I think that this will be epic embarrassment for them... Or they will start to pour their own money and fake the pledge counter :D

I don't think it's updating, several folks claim to have donated.

crabcakes66 coined the term trannies as opposed to trekkies or mechwarriors
now THAT alone is worth a pledge! right?
