Technically, you can't explore the universe until they reach $1 million.

Well, to be more precise, at 1 mil. you can "explore" an "instance"....i.e. 2kms of space?

That's too gracious, I was thinking 1 km or less.

Who came up with the funding goals really? 1M to get a game that can't even be played against others, just fly around?

Look at that backer counter pgi, it couldn't be more embarrassing.

So what are you going to do now? Knowing that nobody is willing to support this?

MWO is the first mmo and community backed game i've ever played (for better or for worse, i was drawn only by my childhood love of BT).

What should the pledge counter be at for a project like this 24hrs after being announced?

What i find amazing and impressive is the sheer number of underwhelmed and skeptical release announcements from gaming media. There is simply no excitement about this PGI venture; just skeptical questioning at best and outright hatred at worst.

As a marketing and communications professional, I'm actually awed by just how apt the "on an island" cliche used by PGI detractors truly is. They were warned by the angry horde all weekend long to not continue with the launch or there'd be hell to pay... and they continued with it anyways.

To be fair, It is an unknown commodity(New Game universe), There is no previous fanbase to woo. Money will likely not flow like it did for SC, or MW:O as there were fans waiting for those names.

Nope, its a new franchise as you said, can't use battletech fan's nostalgia here. Looks like just greed, easy money run. But with no bait. So dumb.

Not really Joseph...at minumum, pretty much all of mwo knew about it. Of those however many thousands of people only 40 some will support. There is no "to be fair" or any way to defend it, its just peanuts.

All of MWO didn't know that All chat was turned off by default. What makes you think they all know about this.
