Anyone Not Using The Clan Mechs?

So, is anyone "not" using clan mechs and still playing? It seemed to me that the clan mechs would take over the game and anyone not in one would have a tough time....
Anyway, I'm installing it again. I cannot spend $50+ on ONE mech, and can't afford a bundle, so I'm not sure how long I will last...
Your responses are appreciate...thanks.

I admit I might break that rule for a Summoner (was always a TT and MW fave of mine) but all in all, driving IS MEdiums is my Bread and Butter.
Love Hunchbacks, Centurions, Griffins, Blackjacks, Vindicators and if I need bigger guns, I go for Jagermechs and Orions.

Also, the recent Lance Challenge challenged me to reach out, and gave me the opportunity to drop with others, where I had fun regardless of match outcomes!
So I'm happy to hear that you are coming back, and welcome you to add me to see if we can drop together in the future.
I have tried Skype and TeamSpeak, and I am willing to to drop with you.
Also, I can help with builds here. Along with mechspecs.com being another fine resource to check builds out, plus Li Song's MechLab and (smurfy's).

To be honest the ratio is starting to tend toward 50\50. I think the shiny-ness has worn off. You see a disproportionate amount of Timber Wolves and Dire Wolves, but that's because they're probably the top of that weight category. You see more than enough IS mechs. Hell the Spider still seems to be the go to light mech.
Also I just need to be picky and say it's not $50 on one mech, it's $50 for three mechs. I guess I'm just splitting hairs there. It's still cheaper to buy em from the website A la carte than with MCs atm.
You get all the chassis types, so you can master em all or whatever.

When All classes of Clans are released for Cbills, I might go ahead and grind out for a Timber, and a Assault class so I have the option of Clans in CW too.
I thought the Grind was bad maxing out the Locust.... but the Victors, OMG! Things changed when I dropped a XL 350 instead of buying my second Victor so I can finish getting them mastered. Victor is still very slow, too slow with the nerfs IMO, but It does help with the new engine.
Good luck and welcome back. IS is still able to rock the Clans, if Me and my Locust can hang, so can you!

I have a set of timberwolfs. And while I love the mech, the IS mechs are still a lot of fun to play.

I dusted off my Founder's Jenner.
And had a blast. I suck at Lights. Am a Medium jock, through and through. Never even got the other Jenners, so it's still locked.
But I slapped a NARC on it, and 4 Mlasers, and the biggest engine. And went to town earning close to 50 pts a match except for when the team just utterly failed.
Great fun in my IS mechs
