What keeps you coming back?
I have found a chassis I like, took 2 days to unlock all the efficiencies on all 3 mechs. the progression within a mech seems limited. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much enjoying playing, But I just curious, beyond just enjoyment, what is it ha keeps you playing?
Best,
Riatt
I love mad scientisting in the mechlab. The unlocking of efficiencies is just a bonus for me. The whole pokemon "gotta catch 'em all" thing with mech aquisition is nice too, not just for the joy of owining mechs, but for the joy of finding those few mechs that you have a connection with, and play well in. I love taking under-performing mechs and fighting tooth and nail to be competitive.
I like seeing the increases in score that I know are coming from my skill improving. I love those matches where everything falls into place and you scythe through the enemy ranks, shearing off limbs, shooting crotches and faces, and causing death and confusion in enemy ranks. I love the matches where you do very little damage, but know that your actions caused a dramatic shift in the battle. I love those few matches where my friends and I drop together and manage to not completely suck in the group queue. I love deciding that you're all going to wolf pack in lights, and only attack DireWolves.
I love running into big names, and having rare opportunities to test yourself against them. Queue Kill Bill fight music. Hey, it's Proton! I'm going to shoot you in the face Proton! Oh crap, you're in a DireWolf, Proton! How the crap did you fit so much dakka in that DireWolf, Proton?
More than that though, I like honing my skills.
"I died to this, How can I avoid that next time?"
"This guy out-brawled me. Why? How can I kick his ass next time?"
"OMG, dual gauss is awesome. How can I make more people rage at me in chat?"
