So I just finished off Mastering the Shadowhawk!

After sitting back feeling pretty smug for a few moments ('Cause you know it's not like EVERYONE and their dog has done it or anything >.> ) I realised I wasn't really sure what I should level next. So I want to ask you guys what you're favorite 'Mech is, why you love it and why you think I should do it next.

Assume I have nothing else unlocked, and money is no issue at the moment. At the very least it makes interesting conversation! :D

Shadow Hawk 2K.

Like all Shads, it gives good agility/responsiveness and speed. But, unlike the others, its left shoulder weapons are lasers, which works really well with my playstyle habits (I use left click for left side of mech and right click for right side of mech, assuming asymmetric builds, I generally do best with lasers in the left click/primary weapon group). High mounts combined with [ER]LL make the perfect long-mid range mobile sniper/striker with good tanking ability, which is usually how I play.

It's almost like somebody probed my soul and said "yup, that's totally what this person's ideal mech would be like" and made it. Its only issue is that it's '55 ton mech size,' but in the face of its strengths it more than makes up for that.

I like the Atlas, more specifically the DDC. Great assault, fun to pilot, takes a beating. Though I've been running the Summoner a lot lately, its not easy, but its fun when you do well in it.

Locust.

No really, love the things, they're really fun to play.

Let me get a bit more in depth here.

You really need to think to be able to play them. They're fragile as hell, fast, and quite good as spotters and distractions. the ability to survive in one is a show of amazing skill.

2K was the one I just finished off! :D Ran with three LPLs in the shoulder and weapon-less but armoured arms for dead-siding. Would be rather reliant on coolant and ran VERY hot but it could punch holes in Assault 'Mechs without breaking a sweat. Utterly love the Shadowhaw and I'm devastated I can never get the Project Phoenix one. It's the 'Mech.

Atlas-D

You are still in the game even when you lost everything. It is also the mech where I did the most damage ever in the game. Over 2000 or something (in a serious match, not just steam roll)

p.s

If only i had D(F) model T_T

Jenner. It's just pure exhilaration. Nothing rewards good play more, or punishes mistakes as harshly.

Tied for first is the DoomCrow. It's a perfect storm of great hitboxes, speed and firepower. Plus, it's our first truly competitive medium since the SHawk and maybe the Griff.

We need more mechs at the top that don't weigh more than 70 tonnes!

I prefer regular or ER Larges because they can pack a lot more heatsinks (and better range to boot).

I don't think you'll miss the SHD-2H(P) much. The 2H variant in general is fairly sub-par as far as Shads go, having few builds that work for it (and even those few are questionable). The Phoenix version just gives a spacebucks bonus, but I tend to be equal/more money with the assist/damage farming nature of laserboating on the 2K.

I simply love the the RVN-4x, but it still needs the hit boxes on the legs looked at ... the most fun is my Arrow , which i run with 3 mpl and 6 mg ... anything that gets within 250 m is shredded...

If you enjoyed the Shadow hawks, I'd say give the Griffin's a try. They have they're faults (ie...most variants have all they're weapons on the same side.

It is one of my favorites, they can make great SRM bombers or even great LRM platforms...They move well and look cool doing it!

Interesting~ Even visually it seems similar to the Shadow just with a missile rack. Is the new Hero worth checking out? What Chassis would you say is your most successful? :D

Well I run the Phoenix variant the most due to it's bonus to XP and C-Bills, But my favorite is the GRF-1S 4 Energy hard points in the right arm and 2 missile hard points in the Left Torso. While I have not yet snatched up "Sparky" it is very, very tempting!
