The Atlas S have 2 rear facing SSRM. I see 2 possibilities here since its a AS7-D ( CT 2 energy, LT 2 Ballistics, RT 2 missiles, and 1 energy on each arm). I doubt we will have rear firing tubes so we will assume they will face foward
Russ confirmed they'll be forward firing.

The actual writeup for the S has the hardpoint allocated the following way.

1 ML in each arm.
2 ML in CT (rear facing)
1 AC20 in the RT
1 LRM20, 1 SRM6, and 2 SSRM2 (rear) in the LT.

So, it could be 1E in each Arm, 2 in the CT, 1 B in the RT, and 4M in the LT. I find that the most likely scenario.

It's also stock with DHS,

I am just gonna throw my idea in here.

LA/RA = 1 energy hard point
LT= 2 Missile hard points
RT= 1 Ballistic hard point
CT= 2 missile points

the reason I say two CT is because both Streaks were rear firing same of the D's CT energy so I would assume all it is instead of 2 Energy its 2 missile in the CT.

Except, the rear firing lasers were not removed for the streaks. Heatsinks were removed in favor of the streaks. So there should still be 2 CT lasers.

Well, you can do it already in an Orion... Sort of. Heat is a concern. An Atlas being a 100 tonner, it might actually pull it off.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5590635daa8a157

I suppose the end result would form to be close to that. Heat efficiency with double efficiencies would be ~53%.

Almost max armor, 71.6 point alpha, adequate heat eff, 61,5 kph... I'd have one,

*Edit*

Fixed something in the build.. :P

Yeah We have some mechs in the game right now that had rear firing weapons they are always forward facing.

On a side note some others are contemplating slot layout, I don't believe you have to worry about it, they normally hold true to stock load out hard points on all the other mechs. I agree with Bront.

This is basically an Atlas D with Double heat sinks instead of Singles, and they added 2 Streak 2's

EDIT: Should be able to mount a STD 350, 4 SRM 4's, 1 AC20, 4 ML 15 double heat sinks, 4 tons of SRM ammo, and 3 tons of AC20. Still going to be hot. You could remove all the ML's and mount 4 SRM 6's. 16 crits left.... Might be able to squeeze a STD 360 in there if you get endo in.

Well since it doesn't specify where the rear facing lasers are mounted, I am hoping for them being in the side torso. At least there we could potential drop in something larger than a medium laser and actually have a unique variant.

yeah, actually the record sheets do. The rear lasers were in the CT. Since they were not touched for the modification, there was no reason to move them. Thus, they are still in the CT.

I posted the Tro Config in there.

AS7-S

Gauss ammo = ML in the CT Narc/LRM 10 represent the 4 SRM 4's (4 crits = 8 tons)

EDIT: Forgot to remove the command console Fixed

The speculation is silly.

http://www.solaris7....Info.asp?ID=663

There's the Mech. [R] is a rear mount, which MWO simply swaps to the same location front-facing.

It'll have an energy hardpoint in each arm, two in the CT. LT will have 4 missile hardpoints, RT one ballistic.

It will,inevitably be derped by someone who mounts LRM 60 in the LT, but it'll do far better with 4 SRM racks. Brawling goodness, and you can easily go 4x SRM-4 to get plenty of SRMs with a more rapid recycle than the -D.

You could roll 4 6's and 1 ac 20, with no Lasers.

I'd rather derp that way, than derp to LRM 60.

On another note, have you played the quad 6 griffin?

I've seen energyless Atlas builds before, basically trying since everyone shoots for the torso anyway and takes the arm with it.

AC/20 + 4x6 or 4x4 SRM + 2 ML with a STD would zombie pretty darn good.

It's actually pretty surprising how log my arm can stay attached after losing the weapon(s) in the adjoining torso. Something to continue fighting with is better than nothing.

SRM24 AC20 2ML in CT is very doable. I just wouldn't go out of the house without Artemis. On the other hand, (A)SRM24 AC20 is delicate enough when it comes to heat, so I wouldn't bother with the MLs. Zombie potential is always nice to have though, I'll admit that. I'd just gett some extra sinks and more armor instead.

Atlas has to tank with it's arms and torso twist all the time anyway, so I think investing anything except armor into arms is rather pointless. If you lose your torso before your arms, you've done something terribly wrong.
