Folks, please remember to refrain from over the line back and forth and try to keep it civil here as there may be unexpected consequences to saying things here that you might not in real life (or that you may in real life, please try to remember some level - even if low - of decorum) :)

Uh oh! The Sheriff is here and he brought a Deputy!

....... guess I better behave. *looks innocent*

ahem...yes, as I was saying, the mechs WILL be available for all to purchase in the future, so this seems highly unnecessary.

Cheerio, chaps!

I personally like the idea.

But I think any unleashing of Phoenix packages or founders would need to come from the players. More specifically from the Phoenix and founders themselves saying yes you should do that.

Only way I can see it happening.

I have bought the Overlord plus the Saber reinforcement pack and I would be all for Phoenix and founders being re-released as part of the special 1 year anniversary. I would buy the Founders Catapult in a heartbeat!

I would be fine with a Founder pack special anniversary re-sale, it was a good deal then and a good deal now, even if the Founders mechs are not new and exciting chassis anymore. Light on mechs and heavy on MC compared to other packages.

A pheonix resale would be fine too IMO, but I didn't buy one initially.

The real issue here is that the only way to qualify for this now is to buy clan mechs. This kind of screws over IS fans. Announcing these rewards after the clan pack is no longer being sold would have been fair to everyone, since everyone would be in the same boat (prior purchases only). But now, this stacks the rewards toward the clan side of things, which doesn't interest all of your players. So to that end, releasing some kind of IS package would be fair. You don't even have to re-release one of the old ones. Just recolor some mechs, slap a bonus on them, and put it out as a legacy pack.

Alternatively, you can make the reward mechs (specifically the special variants) buyable with MC for a limited time. Then everyone is happy, since the people who qualify for the rewards will get them for free.

I'm an Overlord, and I'd be fine with the pack going on sale again.

That said, I'd like the two sales to be unique; perhaps the 'wave two' Phoenix Pack could come with different colors?

(And I'd kill to get a Founder's Cat. Just saying.)

Most Clan-refit IS designs were for solhama units- that is, people the Clan only thought deserved a chance to die faster, as part of the waste-not-want-no Clan philosophy.

Yeah but it would be nice to be able to roleplay how you wanted. Maybe I would think it is cool as hell playing as a solhama running around in my Clan refit Highlander.

I'm one of the biggest collectors in the game (1 cbill mech needed and 4 Heroes that I'll wait on a sale on, Didn't buy into the gold mechs but that's it) and I'd have no problem with bringing them back, but it should have a temporary penalty. reduce the cbill bonus for a while.

I didn't say I had a problem with it but I know some people will if for no other reason than to have something to gripe about.

Hey Russ, I am one of PGI's biggest critics and also a player and I say GO FOR IT. If anyone want to purchase a Phoenix pack let them and then make sure to use the money to reinvest in the game and design us more maps or game modes or something. As long as all the money goes back into the development of MWO, I am for about anything you want to sell as long as you avoid the greed factor.

Also, I already own the Phoenix pack and can honestly say, there is nothing in the package that is so special to me that I would be in the least concerned if someone else owned it. I mean it isn't like we got some unique chassis or anything. Every mech in that package can be bought with C-bills and lets face it, in their own ways, the unique mechs have a major disadvantage....you can't change the camo pattern.

I am cool with the Phoenix pack being re-released for a time... but Founders that was something just a little more specific. (You know, it being "Founders" and all.)

Yeah, this -- Founders are limited edition from the beginning -- you can't copy it

I know im the other side of the coin you're looking for, but i would drop money on the founders hunchback so fast. i was around for the founder pack(and phoenix for that matter), just couldnt afford it at the time. but now i can't either, but it won't stop me this time.

It's still kinda silly. This is a bonus for having been a buyer in the past.

Yet, these people want in on something that expired months or even years ago for a robot that'll get released later anyway.

Seriously, is there some horde that's going to grabdeal the big Phoenix package for one frickin' robot?

(OK, maybe if it was an Urbanmech.)

Put this on a poll.

This should be an easy issue to solve (not like others)

But we want a Crab with 30% C-Bill Bonus and we are willing to pay for it - just not in Clan mechs.

Then wait for the inevitable King Crab Hero mech.

Just a reminder once again folks. The phoenix package is a quick and dirty solution to providing an IS pack without PGI having to slap another together in short time, but if they did have something cool such as other posters have suggested (aka Clan Buster packs) then I'd much rather go with that solution over digging up older packs.

Founder and Phoenix Overlord here: I'd be fine with Phoenix packages being re-opened for the anniversary.

Founders: off limits. Those were for people willing to back the formation of the game.

I don't think Founder stuff being off-limits... the mechs that is. But then i never got anything but the Veteran level, didn't see any point buying a mech before i even got to test the game. (And no, i still wouldn't buy them).

Have got to word this carefully, so as not to overstep or offend.

Phoenix Pack? Saber Pack? The Clan Packs?

Got them all. Enjoy them, no complaints. But they also really mean nothing to me, other than the stuff I got. If there are people jonesing for a (PHX) SHD-2H, or a (SBR) GRF-1N, and willing to pay for them? More power to them, and I think for a certainty you should offer it. Maybe not with all the bells and whistles of a pre-order, because, well, they aren't having to wait 6 months to receive, lol. But absolutely, not even considering the Mad Dog, KGC, et al, make them available.

But the Founder's Packages?

That is something else entirely. That represents people who sight unseen, shelled out to make MWO a reality. I've never felt it entitles us to tell PGI how to make the game, or that we were owed anything beside what we got. And I still don't. But that badge, that title, FOUNDER? At least to some of us, it means something. And I don't care how good a player someone is, how much they contribute to the game now, how many good ideas they have. They are NOT a Founder.

Make the Mech's available if there are people willing to pay. Make them some nice packages. But do NOT call the Founder's Packs. Call them "Supporters" or "Jehonadabs" or whatever you like. But they are not, and cannot be Founders. Just look at the definition of Founder.

No Founders name, Badges or Paint. IMO; it would be a pretty open insult to those who got the ball rolling and have stuck with it, all this time.

Just my 2ct.
