Interesting attitude you have there.
What about all the people who have spent MORE than you in MC and premium time? Many of those people have supported the game way more than you have. What do they get? Being as they have spent more than you?
I bought masakari+clan wave 2 pack-do I feel entitled to be special?
NO.
Why do you?
Radical idea here guys, shoot me down if you will but I'm gonna say something that's utterly INSANE.
You are not special because you spent some money.
You are not special because you have more money than the next guy/girl.
You are not special because you played MWO before someone else.
You could try showing a little empathy, and overlook the "principle" of entitlement this time-to show a smidgeon of compassion for your fellow players. Let those other PEOPLE who are much like you, have a chance at the KC by buying an Is pack. Not having to waste money on things they don't want.
I'll refer you back to point #1: You are not special because you spent some money.
You could be special if you excercise some compassion for your fellow MWOers who might have missed out.

Sorry if the above was hammy and over emotional, but this whole "special" thing is just sad. It's pixels. PGI are not considering it to farm money, they are considering it out of kindness to IS players who don't want to buy clan mechs but still want to support the game you play and love.
Give 'em a chance?

How about no?

They spent it on the wrong things, big whoop. If they released a special Hauptmann only for people who bought lots of MC, I wouldn't get butthurt about it like you are right now. I'd accept that I'm not eligible for the Hauptmann and move on, even if it is my favoritestestest mech ever.

Again, It's like releasing the M60 for everybody after (some) clan players worked their arses off to earn it (and then the rest of the clan got one too IIRC). I spent lots of money on packs, I qualify for it, it's unique and special. Hell, I feel it should only really be for Founders (all of them), but whatevs bro.

You don't qualify, you don't get it, end of story (and big whoop). Buy normal KCG's that are being released the same day, or PGI could just give everybody a normal KCG for free. But leave the special KCG to the people who aren't freeloading scrubs who just want free stuff on the backs of others *ahem*like you're being right now*ahem*.

(Side note: Also, I highly doubt there are more than a precious few players who have bought more than $650 in just MC. Kudos to them though, it does suck that they only get the Centurion for it)

And they should get special rewards for not spending money?

PGI has every right to reward loyal paying customers. You are right in that people are not special for spending money, they are equally not special for not spending money. Its in PGI's best interest for them spending money so it makes sense for them to reward said behavior.

Yeah, you missed the part where he said "the next IS medium", as none of the mechs you listed are in the medium class.

If they developed a pack with new mechs, I think it would be cool to see Black Knights roaming the field. If I had to name 4 mechs, L/M/H/A lets seee...

L-Urbanmech (Because its an Urbanmech)
M-Clint or maybe Bushwacker
H-Hercules or Black Knight
A-Cerberus

Id buy em.

EDIT: I just now realized that the Bushwacker, Hercules, and Cerberus did NOT enter production until AFTER the Clan Invasion.

Bingo. You just laid it all out in one post. You assumed a lot with that post didn't you?
I qualify for ALL the rewards.I also have spent more than $650. ( I like this game and want it to succeed.)
It's NOT about ME.
If you can't look at the situation and put yourself in other's shoes and engage your compassion-you'll NEVER be able to discuss anything like this properly.
I DO understand the naysayer's point (the ones who argue on the technical principle) but in a situation like this, we are not talking about a law or somesuch we enter into an area that touches on understanding of other people and of having to extend a hand in friendship to fellow MWO players.
But I also understand the opposite end of the discussion, something which I notice many here deliberately discount and don't care about. Sometimes a principle relating to a law or a rule does need to be looked at and sometimes overturned when it could hurt others, in any way.
In my country, people have upheld principles (of law) which have allowed criminals (dangerous ones) free to re offend. And we here, are talking about mere PIXELS and the sense of "feeling special" LOL?

But thanks for that post, you painted the picture I wanted.

I would love if a new Inner Sphere package was made, especially if it allowed me to get the new King Crab. I am an IS loyalist through and through and really want this to happen, even if it was for $120. I would love to see these mechs go up for a package: Light: Thorn; Medium: Crab or Sentinel; Heavy: Black Knight; Assualt: Crockett/Katana. Hope this gets enough support because this would be fantastic!

People need to shut up with the "I should get it cuz I want it alot" expectation.

People WORK for their money. Then they CHOSE to spend it on this game. Did you do that? No? Then guess what: NO you DONT deserve the same things as someone who went out into the world, worked at a job for hours, and came back and handed that money over to this company for a purchase.

Don't like it? Get a job.

Have a job? Spent your money elsewhere? See above.

Have a job, spent your money on this game but in different ways? Tough break. It's called being a smart shopper. Economics.
They used to teach that in school.

You think this makes the world not fair? WRONG. Its the only fairness the world has to offer.

If I bought something with a price point that was established because one of the attributes was exclusivity, then that damn well better stay exclusive. Otherwise its bait and switch, and we have laws against that in the US.

Offer something else, I don't care what. But don't dare offer what you previously sold as exclusive at a price point supported by that claim. That is business sleaziness of the highest order.

The customers asking for that are no better than freeloaders.

I wouldn't be against another IS pack. The $80 price point was good for me with the Phoenix pack and I would happily pay for early access for more IS 'mechs. Previous suggestions here on the forums where for a clanbuster pack but with the King Crab being announced for December that wouldn't work so well.

So how about a 2750 pack that features resurrected designs from the Star league era. We already have a couple of these 'mechs in the form of the Highlander and Kintaro but there are plenty of others left from that book.

Light - Thorn
Medium - Crab (makes sense since the King Crab would be the reward for buying the pack)
Heavy - Black Knight - Looks amazing so deserves a spot in game
Assault - Thug - The direct competitor to the venerable Warhammer and a stylish 'mech to boot.

Failing the 2750 idea you could go for some 'early release prototypes' of 'mechs being introduced during the clan invasion period or just before.

Light - Wolfhound (with the original head not the stupid looking Anubis thing they added later)
Medium - Wolftrap
Heavy - Caesar
Assault - Mauler

The very essence of F2P titles is packs and micro-transactions so a new pack wouldn't be a bad thing. So my vote is yes.

These are great ideas, especially the Star League pack..

Can you imagine how amazing Alex would make the Black Knight look? I'd be insta-buying that pack simply on that basis.

I will not be buying any mech packages for a while yet. My money that I refunded from the clan package is still sitting in the bank, waiting for the day that Community Warfare is released. Untill that carrot on the stick is in my mouth and already half-chewed, I don't plan on shilling out any more cash.

That said, we're starting to run a little short on IS mechs that... you know... everyone had access to. I'd suggest that since the Clans' "Booster" bonus was another Omnimech, and the "Booster" Mech in question for the IS is a King Crab, that the Inner Sphere package be a "Star League Cache" package.

Potential mechs to include being:
  • Mongoose
  • Wyvern or Crab. Probably Wyvern just to eliminate confusion between the Crab and King Crab.
  • Heavies... We've seen damned near enough of the Black Knight. Seeing the Lancelot or Guillotine would be a welcome change.
  • Assault, the Thug would be a welcome addition in my books, but The Crocket-Katana might also be a decent contender. Just so long as we're not dipping into the Star League stuff from TRO 3058... The assaults in those tend to not have many variants, and threaten to outclass the King Crab as it is.

One thing that seems to be a worrying trend is escalation. The community is chomping the bit for something to "outshoot the Dire Wolf", but there really isn't much of anything that can. The King Crab's release smells to me like PGI is allowing for power creep and presenting the arms race they said they didn't want to have in the game, but even now, a look at the drop cue almost invariably has Heavies and Assaults with the longest cue, and lights with next to nothing.

How is buying a package that in no way included a King Crab but then long after that package stopped selling got it added to it being a smart shopper? How is somebody buying a $80 overlord pack being more supportive than somebody that has bought $60 founders, $60 phoenix, $120 clan, and a bunch of MC?

Want to keep exclusive packs exclusive, fine. But those packs did not include a King Crab so you can't say you deserve it more than people who have spent tons of money on the game but just happened to not buy the top tier pre-order.

Just an idea, why not use the amount of actual currency spent on game (real physical dollars or whatever) as a means to qualify people for some of these "special" mechs?

I bought the $40 Founder package back in closed beta, I bought the Phoenix and Sabre packs for whatever that was, one of the lower tier clan packs, bought MC here and there... I'm sure the money I've spent has well surpassed these "$80 minimum pre-orders to get cool future stuff" packages. I think I should be rewarded in same tastes.

The Urbanmech could have a perk in which whenever it killed an enemy mech with a CT, it would cause that mech to auto-Stackpoled (dropping the equivalent of 10 artillery strikes in the immediate vicinity) and it would still be considered a Tier 6 mech.
