Yes, it does not add something, its only a lower version of Madcat even Ryoken atm, nevertheless it has a sucky pitch ang. Therefore there is something need to do about saving it like done to Awesome. Maybe make JJ's preferable for 1 variant at least and increase other stuff.

Thor is a mech that supposed to use less amount number of weapons but heavier weapons. If they keep it weak we will keep seeing more Madcats, Ryokens that using bunch of lasers at a time, plays with 1 weapon group, which much easier to hit.

Edit: The thing i tried to say is you can do better of the same thing with Madcat, so there is no reason to use Thor now. Consider about all builds, Madcat has more space for weapons, more armor wtih better hitbox, more hardpoints. So Madcat>Thor atm. You can't compare and say Kintaro is better than Hunchback right? They are different mechs and add different things to the game but Madcat is just the better of the same thing of Thor.

Only difference is u can load 5 missles to Thor, mass ssrm6 or srm6+art are fun indeed, but when riding a Thor you should expect more than a 1 group stupid build. Madcat even makes better srm6 playing, remove 1 of it and get some medlas instead and its beat again by Madcat...

And the right name of topic should be: "Thor is a fail compared to Madcat"

Though I agree the SUMMONER is underpowered especially after the JJ nerfs, it doesnt really matter much because when the Hellbringer releases no one will use the SUMMONER ever again...

Why would they use a lighter version of the same chassis? What did I miss about the hardpoints?

Actually, out of all the current clan mechs, i do best in the Summoner. 3 streak 6's and a pair of large lasers. Its not a terrible mech, you just need to know how to use it to be most effective. Hunt lights, hit and run, and poke at range with the lasers. Works pretty great

I'm actually enjoying my Summoner. Even managed to pull off a 4 kill 600+ damage match in my suicide SRM boat build.

The hellbringer has better hardpoints and ECM on each variant, and will make sufficient use of energy weapons and either light ballistic or missiles even weighing 5 tons less.

The ECM will be the dominant factor though.

The summoner is poor now, and will be worthless with the Hellbringer and Mad Dog introduction.

I like my SUmmoner but only because I like the look of the mech. Its an old clan Workhorse. It's barely a frontline mech during the invasion. It just doesn't perform as well as the Timberwolf does. Yeah you can potentially do well with it. You would have done even better in the Timber wolf.

I do feel the Summoner could use a little love, better quirks or at least better turn rate and torso turn rates. Giving it even thrustier JJs wouldn't hurt either since it's hardlocked to have JJ but they still don't give it very much lift.

Blame canon BT lore.

The Thor is a decent mech. But maybe its also an example of how TT lore from a dice game doesn't translate perfectly to a fps game.

The lore is wrong sometimes & could use tweaking.

Thanks. Still 5 tons less, less armor, I don't remember what is the Hellbringer's max Pod space? Summoners need more hard points.

You can easily do a 7 energy and 2 missle build with ECM, at the same speed as the Summoner, with no JJs which doesnt really matter much nowadays anyhow.

Dont get me wrong I love the Summoner, its how I got my Ace of spades challenge, but the JJ nerf REALLY hit it hard with its perma 5 JJs. It will be outclassed by the Hellbringer, which has more tonnage for weaponry and is 5 tons lighter.

Lore does not Mechanics make. The Bringer and summoner were poor man Heavies.

The Summoner will still be used. I see a lot of people who are great at flying around and hitting people in midair on the run.

That isn't my preferred playstyle so I won't use one but I've seen some good players that do well at the JJ and shoot game.

The bigger fail is the LIGHT mech, did you see the speed on it? A 25t mech that moves as slow as my atlas (almost) That will die quick.
