The Zeus should really be in this game. The Liao's and Davions have their iconic mechs, so why not the Zeus?

It might be because people are checking back regularly to see how the voting is going. Or they withhold their votes because the 'Mech they want is not an option and they do not care otherwise.

I voted Cyclops, but really feel that the Mauler should be the next assault post KC. Followed up by the Annihilator, the Devastator, and the Night Star. After those, toss in whatever ya want...

My vote went to to tthe cyclops, hoping it can fulfill it's role as a command mech. The zeus would be my (very close) second choice.

Also... Dude, where's my mauler?

I do believe that putting a polling system into the MWO client to get survey results from the players directly, with atleast concept art to give them something to look at would be the best method. But we will make do with what we have. As it sits now, I would assume most that have looked and haven't voted don't care toward one choice as Assaults don't interest them or they do not have permissions to vote (Not logged in, haven't played enough) or that multiple views are coming from a single player, which means they only have one vote but the view ticker is getting tricked by their checkins from multiple sources.

Though, funny thing about the Charger (Though I voted Zeus.) The base config is rather boring, just 5 small lasers. At best this variant would just be another Awesome if hardpoint inflation was applied. Also it is a mech that benefited heavily from Melee Combat rules in BT, which are lacking from the game (And if Melee Combat was suddenly a thing then there would be a massive outcry of "AXEMAN NOW!")

Yet the different variants used by the Great Houses after they got their hands on the Charger provide drastic variation in Loadouts and Configs. I would dare say that it might be the most varied mech not only out of the three but also of all the Assault Mechs currently open to the IS.

I think 4000 views and 500 hundred votes probably reflect the thinking that no matter what mech wins the vote, that pgi will just make whatever mech they want lol

None of these mechs particularly excite me, so I voted for the Cyclops because I think it's the most visually striking of the bunch and I'd LOVE to see what FD's take on it would look like.

That said, if people are wondering what IS mechs I would like to see - Black Knight all the way.

An Argument for the Charger:
While the most famous Charger variant is a dud, overall it has more build diversity than any one mech in the game and can fix into almost any play style.
Examining the variants:
  • CGR-1A1: 400 Std, 10 SHS, 160p Std, SL (LA), SL (RA), SL (LT), SL (RT), SL (RT)
Arguable the worst mech in TRO3025, the stock layout of CGR-1A1 is crap. BUT, it doesn't take much effort to imagine how it could be every dangerous: swap out for an XL, Endo and Ferro, and you have more free mass than the Man O'War even with maximum armour.
  • CGR-1A5: 320 Std, 13 SHS, 240p Std, 2x SRM6 (LT, 1t ammo), AC20 (RT, 2t ammo), ML (CT), SL (HD)
The first of the good Chargers, this variant has an excellent brawler with decent hard points. I'd be glad to have it in the game as is.
  • CGR-1A9: 320 STD, 4 JJ, 22 SHS, 160p Std, ML (LA), ML (RA), ML (LT), LRM20 (RT, 2t ammo), ML (RT), SL (HD)
A decent, but sub-optimal missile boat. Unless they throw on a lot of extra hardpoints, this is going to be overshadowed by the CGR-3K.
  • CGR-1L: 400 Std, 10 SHS, 88p Std, LL (RA), ML (LT), ML (RT)
An attempt to improve the 1A1 by increasing the firepower.... another dud that can be build on the 1A1 chassis in anyone wants to play it.
  • CGR-SB "Challenger": 240 Std, 28 SHS, 247p Std, LL (LA), LL (RA), LL (LT), LL (RT), ML (HD)
A possible hero mech. All it needs is a quirk to help with the heat and it will see a lot of use.
  • CGR-3K: 400XL, 5 JJ, 12 DHS, 179 FF, MPL (LA), MPL (RA), MPL (LT), LRM20+A4 (RT, 2t ammo + CASE), MPL (RT)
The Lostech upgrade of the CGR-1A9. There is a lot of like about it, especially the 5 jump jets. The weapons loadout is a bit weak, but it makes more sense in table top. It wouldn't be hard to either swap the MPLs for PPCs to make this a fast sniper or the LRMs for SRMs and upgrade a couple of the lasers to largers for a fast brawler

I voted Cyclops, because another 90 tonner is missing, but none of the three really got me excited in the sense that King crab does and Annihilator would.

Zeus is the most "needed" lore wise, charger seems the most unique. So they all have things going for them.

I would only accept the Zeus if it retained those "blades" sticking out from the shoulders in the final model.

If I get big engine caps, give me a Zeus. With unnerfed turning it could be like a less terrible victor. Besides the lyrians get invaded and need something...Its beautiful as well. And mechwarrior 2 mercs intro. XD

Don't do the charger unless you plan to code physical attacks.

If the annihilator was a part of this poll I would have taken it :)
